Patton Oswalt

Probably shouldn't leak I'm playing "Young Blob" in X-MEN APOCALYPSE but oh well.

Till looks high af.
So Blob is this movie too. Though Oswalt Palton looks small for the role, maybe they'll CGI Blob this time. He looked awful in Origins.
I honestly wonder if this is just very poorly done sarcasm at this point.

I was so drawn in by the comment itself, I only just noticed how he butchered Patton Oswalt's name.

I like that people can have the same kind of visceral experiences with movies as they can with other people.

I remember not knowing what would happen in every scene because I hadn't seen it before. Those darn psychics keep ruining those movies for us. :argh:

So batman1 has been reduced to having weird obsessive conversations about Chris Nolan with himself.

At least batman1 is aware of who the other end of the conversation is in this one.

^ that's a great team effort there

RLAAMJR needs to calm down on the Storm obsession. Maybe if we get Celine Dion to play Storm he'll be fine.

Regarding the film's popularity:

Man, I honestly feel disgusted making this argument because it really over-simplifies why being a "crowd-pleaser" isn't an indication of quality, but...

McDonalds. Taco-Bell. Pizza Hut.

All INSANELY POPULAR and profitable businesses/brands, and all in no way, shape, form or fashion the bar at which you should settle for quality. If you like any of those places, great. I'm not a snob by any means, and if that's all you know (or have been exposed to), then no one should reasonably expect or be offended that you didn't care for Nightcrawler, or that Inside Out wasn't the number 1 movie last week (or that Fury Road wasn't basically the number 1 movie until Inside Out debuted) but, that being said, "it's popular so it must be good on some level" is an equally weak argument.

Slavery was popular for a very long time. As were the banning of mixed-race and same-gender marriages. What's popular isn't always an indicator of what is good (or just).

It figures that the desperate vocal minority would blow something as silly as a print review 'embargo' completely out of proportion and act like it means anything at all with regards to either the film's quality or the studio's faith in it. :loco: :whatever:
Speaking out against the ridiculousness of trying to act like when reviews for this film are allowed to be released has anything whatsoever to do with its quality or the studio's confidence in it has nothing to do with optimism and everything to do with not acting :loco:
Well, I'm sure lifting the review embargo at the time screenings will already be starting isn't a bad sign at all and it's crazy to think so.

...Somewhere we missed a turn here.

The Christopher Nolan Thread

after news came out that Nolan's next project is a short documentary film

sad to see Nolan's career tank like this, he really did have great potential as a director

I guess next he'll be co-directing a low-budget suspense thriller with M Night Shyamalan

What the hell are you talking about? His past 4 films have all been among the 10 highest grossings in their respective years, and have all received great reviews.

Can't he Direct a simple short film? Makes no sense.

Epic fail Lord.:funny:

What? Are you really serious here? Nolan career is at it's peak. Every single movie of his, has been both a box-office and critical success. (except Memento and Insomnia, which were only critical success, but this is reasonable, since it was the start of Nolan's career). He is one of Hollywood's most famous and original directors at the moment.

I guess I missed when Nolan's career tanked....

I think the dude was being sarcastic.

A lot of people deserve less love than a lot of animals. Even one of those weird hairless cats is more deserving of sympathy than some of the brainless mouthbreathers that populate this here planet.

here comes our psychological self-loathing for our own species, right on cue

Oh I don't loathe the species, I think it has fantastic potential. I just wish it would aim a little higher. I'm like a disappointed father watching his child drink paint thinners and running around a circular room trying to find the corner...and then I realize he's 23.

I like how "self-loathing" is a popular term people throw around these days :hehe: What I like even more is using the term "self-loathing" to describe a dislike for something somebody else is doing... It's not the people, it's their behaviour that's the problem. I also don't see what's wrong with critiquing one's own "species", just because I share a genetic blueprint with something it somehow makes us inextricably linked? :funny:

I have no idea what you are talking about

*downs another shot of whiskey and stares forlornly into the sunset*

That's quite clear from the lack of insight the majority of your posts exhibit, but I like having exchanges with others where they might learn something.

*snorts another line of gunpowder and gazes stoically at the wall*

Thanks for the complement!

Now I'm blushing

*compliment.

No probs bruh. Keep on wit' yo ignant self.

Nah I meant complement. Your compliment complemented my life. Now, with my life fulfilled, I can finally go on that Penguin-hunting expedition in North Antartica that I've always dreamed of.

its not my birthday but thanks anyway

Agree. It's one thing, when people hunt or fish for food and/or clothing. But, to kill an animal as a trophy, I just think there is something insanely wrong with the person. I think they are just as twisted and sick in the head as someone who goes after children.

I know, that's about as disturbing as someone who shoves someone else in front of a moving bus and boasts online about not feeling bad about it.

You're an idiot! I don't feel bad, because one, I didn't shove anyone, the ***** was a bully and tried to start a fight, jumped me and I defended myself, and when I threw her off of me, she landed in the street and got hit by the bus. Why should I feel sorry for her when she put herself in that predicament? If she wasn't being a bully, and not trying to beat up people and get into fights all of the time, then nothing bad would have happened to her in the first place. It's called karma, and anyways, I was declared innocent by the judge since there was a security camera that caught the whole thing on tape, showing plain as day that i was defending myself, and I was free from all charges. Who knows, maybe she was going to push me into the street, but I wasn't going to find out. Maybe people like you give into bullies, but I'm not one of them.

Damn. Did she die?
