WW Composer Thread

I've become really curious about the composer for this film...

Come on WB, you know how to make me happy.

I liked the WW theme in BvS, but don't know if they should use that electric guitar for the WW movie. Maybe a more classical version of it?

Electric cello, apparently.

Do you think they've already decided on using the WW theme from BvS for the WW movie? If not, then it's just a random (but great-sounding) theme in BvS, whereas if it's the WW theme then when you watch BvS again it will be like hearing a rousing and recognisable melody.

I suppose Jenkins and her composer-to-be could justify not using Zimmer’s “modern theme” on the grounds that the Wonder Woman movie is an origin/period story. I.e., conspicuously different times/settings = different musical approach.

But the composer could orchestrate/ arrange it differently so that it sounds like a more classical sound but with the same melody. Then the Zimmer version would just sound like a modern update of that. Even if it's an electric cello, it does sound very much like an electric guitar.

I might even try to learn that on mine.

Or they could use a "hint" of that theme form BvS played on a different instrument , mixed along with some other theme.

I'd argue using it because it has become so identifiable for the character (against all odds). I actually hated it when I first heard it but love it now purely because I feel it actually ended up matching the character perfectly.

Plus the fact it doesn't fit with the setting amplifies the woman out-of-time element I expect the film will have. Diana doesn't belong, so why should her theme?

Has anyone ever noticed how the Wonder Woman theme has a similar rhythm to the Ant-Man theme (one of Marvel's best themes)? And some parts of it sound like it could blend in with the Ant-Man theme too, or you could do a medley of the two.

They could retcon the BvS one into a Justive League theme since it also played over the cameos.

Zimmer is not working on JL, so I'm not sure if it changes anything when it comes to reusing that theme. Anyway, I'd prefer something new and less Zimmerish.

And I really want to know who is the composer of WW. It is becoming frustrating how little info they're giving us.

Hopefully it's a woman, even if she's a first-timer/unknown or else Lexi Alexander is gonna lose her ****. :o

:funny:

By the way, I just went to WW IMDB page to see if any composer is listed, even if wrongly so, but couldn't find none. There is a wigmaker though, if anyone is interested to know.

The WW piece sounded more Junkie than Zimmer. I do think the melody can be kept using some other instrument. Or if the film does go back and forth in time as rumored, we could use different themes for the time periods.

Zimmer said that it was his composition, as he was inspired by cellist's, Tina Guo's playing style.

I'd like to see something similar to The Gladiator score in WW. I think it could fit very well.

If it's good and well received, Zimmer will claim it as his own. If not, then Zimmer will blame it on Junkie. :o

I'm sure it will be back. It plays when WW looks at the Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman videos too.

It's so fun and catchy.

Which funnily enough was composed by both Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard, even though he's the only one who won the Oscar for it.
If Junkie XL (my top choice, if only because of dat amazing Is She with You? track) doesn't get the job, then how about her. She's composed quite a few movie scores over the years - Jane Got a Gun, Layer Cake, The Insider - even if for the most part they were collaborations.

And yes... she also happens to be a woman, if you get what I mean. :o

I am not sure the music was part of the actual score though.
