You can also tell how many good movies had good trailers
the trailer being good, does not guarantee anything, but already a positive marketing it's a good start for the film, people doing negative marketing already has in great quantity.

Tell you what, you could tell from the trailers for Logan, Deadpool, and Thor: Ragnarok that they were each something way different than expected. And I think that helped them all tremendously at the box office. Here is hoping Dark Phoenix is good enough to give that jolt in perception.

But yes, if it is as bland but "nice" as Apocalypse's marketing, warning bells will go off in the fan community. In this vein, it is worth noting that the SDCC teaser for Days of Future Past (which became the first trailer) floored fans. So fingers crossed they have something like that up their sleeves.

Even in quotes, “nice” is being generous. After Apocalypse’s lackluster marketing campaign, you would think people wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss a well received trailer. Here’s hoping it actually delivers, so the franchise can avoid another misstep.

I'm glad the reaction to this footage was positive. That's at least a step in the right direction. The fact that the trailer gave them an "action thriller" vibe is intriguing. One of the big talking points Kinberg made for this movie is that they wanted to do something bold and radical in the same way Logan did. Sophie Turner said it creates a whole new genre in superhero films calling it dark and gritty. I'm interested to see the new aesthetic in the upcoming trailer and in particular Kinberg's Steadicam technique in its realism approach as Turner described it:
"It is so gritty and there are so many fantastical things in this movie and we really wanted it to resonate with every member of the audience who watches it so we had to make it so real as well," said Turner. "You still get that sense of escapism when people start flying but there’s so much reality in it. I think it will really affect people. And the way Simon shot it — the majority of this movie is handheld, like Steadicam."

The replacement director only shot for 16 days so it would make sense that Singer would still receive directing credit because he shot most of the movie up to the point he was fired. There can only be one directing credit. I wouldn't call that good news because it still doesn't erase the sexual accusations against him or the perception that he would be an unreliable director during crunch times.

However, I don’t trust Kinberg, In a few years he has managed to be a director, producer , scriptwriter..
Kinberg is a collaborator which allowed him to get so many of the gigs and connections he's gotten. Most of those positions require you to collaborate with many people on many projects and to handle multiple things at once. He's also known in the industry to be someone people get along with well which in turn strengthens his connections within the industry.

Maybe they showed multiple teasers in one video and made the audience confused. But yay! Dark Phoenix reaction is good and they love the horror-based New Mutants.
Gambit and New Mutants were mentioned, but they didn't show any footage according to TrailerTrack. They were referring to the difference in tone of the earlier teaser released for New Mutants last year and how Dark Phoenix had a more action thriller vibe rather than horror. I don't know if they got confused and thought New Mutants was the earlier teaser for Dark Phoenix.

Yeah, this is what we've been saying. Whatever the case, it won't be long before the trailer drops online, and we can judge for ourselves.

Aahh! This makes sense since New Mutants is going through the heavy reshoot and there's no way they're gonna drop another teaser anytime soon.

Positive news. The teaser probably had a lot of action segments taken from the film which gives it an action thriller vibe. Cant wait to see it.

I'm excited to finally have something to judge. It being well received is just icing on the cake.

I am high hopes.
I hope it really is a great trailer, more than ever this is important, I think simon and fox knows they need to get the audience's attention
and I hope that they have a good marketing campaign, something similar to what was done in DOFP.

Simon Kinberg as director, I am Xpecting the worst. Remember Dceu had good trailers so as X3.

WW and MoS trailers were good. The rest were not, and we got what was expected with those. Rushed, poorly done CGI, predictable by-the-numbers films with no heart.

I wonder why there isn’t any descriptions of what they showed? All I keep reading about is that the trailer has a lighter tone like first class and it’s darker than apocalypse

It is true, the first trailers for Days of Future Past and Logan were indeed something else. But if this isn't that, there's no way to tell its quality.

It should be prohibited to speak
other trailers have also been shown, such as aquaman and etc, and also do not have many details.

'Have there been talks with the studio for a Storm stand-alone?

"Not yet, but I am hoping we will get around to it. It is definitely time for these Storm fans to get the movie they have been dying for."

What would you want to see from a Storm movie?

"There are so many different storylines that we could take on when it comes to Storm — whether she is losing her powers or going back to Africa. I just want there to be a message of "this woman doesn't need a man." Just one movie where a woman doesn't need a man, really."

An adaptation of the Uncanny side of Fall of the Mutants would work well as a Storm based film. You'd get mythical with the Adversary involved and Forge could prove to be a nice counterpoint to Beast in terms of science. Plus, that scene where Storm stabs Forge and they fall out of Earth and forgive each other would look great on film.

lol at 0 talks about a Storm movie at Fox. obviously not, Kinberg doesnt give a damm about Storm, lol. It would be the last project Kinberg would be interest. what a fan

I am fairly certain Simon Kinberg can't greenlight any projects he wants. thats up to FOX to do and they obviously need to be convinced that its a project is worth being given the go ahead.

Now from FOX perspective they will likely want to be pitched something that makes the Storm movie stand out to them and not just oh she is a popular character and she is dark skinned.

Wonder Woman had good trailers, but BvS and JL did not (or at least I never thought so in BvS' case). You may have a point regarding Suicide Squad though. ;)

Yes, a good trailer is not the end of the world, but if it is something as defiantly its own thing as Logan or Deadpool, that would only be good news. Especially if Fox wants to make a profit.

Sometimes I think some people think that kimberg is the boss or owner of FOX
years ago nobody had any idea that a solo movie of a female character could work and get good box office, they tried elektra and it did not work, I do not remember another one, after many years that wonder woman has now managed to break this barrier in this segment of film.

I bet if Fox accept Comcasts offer people will blame Kinberg for having too much influence on the board because of course it must always be Kinbergs fault!!
