The leaker said the test screening didnt give any insight into who or what Jessica Chastains character is. I find that improbable, afterall her character has been getting a lot of mystery and hype around who shes going to play. Anyone from Miss Sinister, Veranke, Cassandra Nova, Lady Mastermind, emma frost. Why wouldnt they go into that at all?

Wasn't it stated earlier that Jessica's character was one of the leads, and that she was really impressed with the female characters? That doesn't sound like this "leak".

Those spoilers also stated that Raven, Charles and Erik were the lead characters, which I don't believe for a second.

It bears repeating that Jessica Chastain was also impressed with Huntsman: Winter's War's script and its characters.

And she has said that her good friend Kinberg is "an incredible writer" and that's why she took on this DP role.

My god this thread has become so toxic. It's really depressing as an X-Men fan.

I've never understood the concept of hoping a movie will fail. Especially if you love the characters. I'm hoping for a great movie. Wish more X-Men fans felt that way. Even if it's not your studio of choice.

Simple 'cause people like Alison, Sum, psylo are Feige's fan, not X-Men fan.

It's easy to understand: they reveal their nature when they want mutants under Disney mark.

'cause, one thing is to want more faithful movies, that is legit, of course. While I see the Fox world to be an alternate universe like the great Age of Apocalypse and all i wanted is to see at least good movie (and i like all the new trilogy) and the true spirit of X-Men (that is very well portrayed).
But it's cleary legit to wanted a 616 earth.

But when you said that you wanna this and then praise Disney who give us a totally wrong interpretation of characters like Spidey (even the deadpool in the horrible origins is more faithful), Thanos, Thor, Cap....etc... well you are a Feige's fan. Simple. there is nothing to add.

I guess this way of thinking makes sense on this forum (especially now that Singer’s gone): Kinberg's Apocalyspe script was good but Singer had to ruin it.

Within those spoilers it was said Xavier, Cyclops and Beast probably had the biggest roles in the film.

Whether they are true or not i feel like no one should create any expectation based on the comics or being too protective over how they think a character should or would act.

Some time ago in an interview Simon kinberg did say he wanted to bring some Civil War style conflict to DP and the film has been described by Mcavoy as a family breaking up so I kinda do expect some drama and conflict going on.

Sure i don't defend Huntsman, but yes: it happens not rarely than good script become a trash movie. (and can happen also the opposity).
(And i don't understand 'cause mostly cinecomics fan gave such importance to the less visible and not so important aspect of a movie, that is the script)

So maybe Chastain found positive elements on her characters in the sciprt.

Said that, obviously what Chastain says is not a dogma, and I think she is more center on the importance of female role than the quality of script.

Why do you feel the constant need to bring this up? Two other seasoned and well respected actresses made that movie too. No idea why you use her defense for the movie as a way to attack her promoting this. You’ve don’t it countless times and it’s rather repugnant.

You repeatedly snark back at me if I bring up anything that isn't pitch black negative about the cast or the crew, even if my points are completely inconsequential to this film or it's quality, or lack-off. I haven't even seen Winter's War, but the one thing people bring up about that film are those female characters. That and Chastain's comments don't add up with the "leak". That's all.

Yes, the leak is very strange.
it pretty much shows a film totally different from what's being promised
it looks like a 2.0 version of X3, I can not believe they would make that mistake of promising a movie and delivering a completely different one, that would be a simply horrible mistake.

was the same as months ago told them that the skruls would be in the movie and that was 100%,that this source "heard" this from another source, which had huge powers...

If you go in expectations of how the phoenix story should then yeah you probably won't come out very happy either way. but in terms of creative license of telling this story i don't see anything that stands out in a way that says this will be a terrible movie.

I feel like with any of these fox-verse movies if you go by 2nd hand details you will hear so many things that just stand out as strange and odd that you will instantly call out as being bad because you haven't seen it yourself on screen. for example if someone said way before the Logan trailer was ever released that Wolverine would be reading an X-Men comic that exists within universe you will instantly go WTF! what are they even doing?! thats sounds so stupid! but in context of the film it wasn't a big deal.

and the casting of the reedit, says that this battle is already the final battle of the film, and that jean in this scene is used by aliens already in the form of dark phoenix.

who expected something special? I was kind of expecting it when the movie was announced, but after Fassbender and Lawrence return, it all went down. And some inside info proved it to me finally. Storm, Jubilee, Psylocke and co. will always be fu*** up by this creative "team". Always. The facts are there in front of all of us. No more "wait and see" needed. not a fourth time.

We dont know how much screen time Magneto or Mistique will have. Magneto may be like Stark in Spiderman, appearing intermittently.
