Dark Phoenix X-Men: Dark Phoenix News and Speculation Thread - - - - Part 13

Fox approaching to Disney (first and not Comcast) and Fox rejecting Comcast (not Disney) last year are facts. I wasn't being childish Xpecially I just pointed why Fox and Disney have a good relationship right now with 1 of the Murdochs having a seat in Disney's board in the near future.

Anyway, I'd like to know what's so good if X-Men heads to Comcast.

Their not responding in a vacuum though clearly Comcast knows money talks. Also Disney's stock has been wavering with the uncertainty of Star Wars franchise. Full cash is far superior of a deal as it's rare is more stationary.

So what's the advantage of the X-Men heading to Comcast then? Would they suddenly have a new overseer for the franchise that won't have films that gets delayed again and again? What about merchandises?

Stop being dramatic in all the years of X-Men films this is the first time any of them have EVER been delayed. Would you rather them be bought by Disney and have them indefinitely shelve it like they did to Inhumans until that dumpster fire of a show they canceled after a season?

Well the Inhumans aren't as big and important as the X-Men. And straight from Iger's mouth, theX-Men would be incorporate in the MCU and I doubt he was referring to the TV side lol, given the track record of the MCU, it should be for the best. X-Men under Comcast would probably be more of the same old thing. Inconsistencies, retcons, Kinberg, continuity that doesn't make sense.

And they have been delaying Gambit for years, lol.

Is that why for a solid 5 years Marvel tried to make Inhumans more important than X-Men?

Gambit has been in development Hell much like Ant-Man was before it came out not to mention a Black Widow movie they are different than delays. Do you have rose colored glasses for Marvel or just selective memory?

I don't know why are you making this Bout the Inhumans lol. Ant-Man didn't lose three directors and have multiple release dates being removed. Also Ant-Man became a success, Gambit.... There's no certainty if it would even see the day of light. You are stretching. If you want this franchise to look better, don't compare it with the MCU who have made it possible for so many b listsl characters to appear in bigger and more successful films than the X-Men movies. Also Black Widow has appeared in at least five movies since 2010. Gambit, zero.

Yeah because you don't have an answer. The reason I brought it up was because you tried to use the way you thought Universal would treat X-Men but Marvel Disney aren't perfect either so I gave examples. Can you follow along with conversations I speaking in plain English?

Again if you think Marvel would demote the X-Men to TV just like the Inhumans, then just no. You have no evidence.

Yeah because they never would do that to a character like idk Daredevil... wait. However I didn't ever say X-Men would be demoted to TV just using examples of mistakes Marvel Disney have made. I feel like I have to echo things I say because you don't pay attention the first time.

You are really gonna talk about Disney's mistakes? When Fox clearly has more? You are stretching.

I think Disney sucks at tone of most of it's characters too kid friendly for my tastes. So what both made mistakes that's my point? Since you think tit for tat Universal hasn't had a chance with either property while Marvel was the ones that sold there properties to begin with.

(1) Jh likes to deflect.

(2) And act childish.*

You come across kinda childish "Why didn't they ask Comcast huh huh HUH?!"

Two things he loves accusing other people of doing.

*while having multiple spelling and grammatical mistakes.

So Dumbo, a film that comes out later than Dark Phoenix, already has a trailer out. We know there's a trailer out from that CineEurope event so it's only a matter of time before FOX releases one for DP.

Fox has a fairly easy task when it comes to getting X-men fans excited. Random shots of Cyclops, Storm, Nightcrawler, Beast, etc in colourful comic accurate costumes. The Phoenix raptor + That "caw" sound. Aliens. Space. Perhaps Xavier in a hoverchair. No shots of blonde Raven. No shots of hairless Hank. X-fans on twitter will be geeking out and perhaps X-men will trend.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: it's not the trailer I'm worried about. It's the film come November err...February.

I wonder why though if the visual effects will look better this time?though I think you should cross out Colorful accurate costumes as we won't get them.

February isn't a death sentence anymore but everything about this movie is a gamble. Also reallyTrying to bait me? Sure whatever you say buddy. Haha!

I think the grant Morrison costumes will, look, great,I,have always liked that version and it makes the xmen look like a team

I wasn't a fan of them in the comics mostly because I hated Frank Quitely's art (and also wasn't a fan of Morrison's run).

I'm waiting for higher res pics of the costumes to see if I like them or not. From the pics that are out now, they look shapeless and unflattering but we'll see.

Edit: They're certainly better than Apocalypse's black paintball costumes.

They aren't wearing the Grant Morrison's costumes but Cyclops' X-Factor costume.

No one said February is a death sentence. Films like Lego Movie would do well neXt year.

The X-Men movies don't really need a new overseer.

And the 'DARK PHOENIX' suits are definitely inspired by the Grant Morrison version, and not Cyclops' X-Factor suit.

Obviously the Cyclops suit has a full mask covering his face. Well, not really.
Despite the missing elements, the suits have a lot in common with the Grant Morrison look. Especially the thick X on the chest.

Bottom line is: Kinberg has a lot against him since he was responsible for The Last Stand. If the rumours are true of him taking stuff from TLS then he is truly untalented. He's already said he's made mistakes in TLS so he has learned nothing and he's just blowing air out of his ass..

You can't point @Simon Kinberg as sole responsible for 'THE LAST STAND,' and rumors are just that... rumors.

I doubt this is going to be a 'LAST STAND' rehash.

Universal Studios has had no experience in making comic book movies.

Which makes it very poor choice for taking on the X-Men.

We'll get more WTF nonsense with some writer, producer or director who is clueless about the material and latches on to one or two characters they personally like, or who they can cast favourite actors to play.

No thanks. Let's have X-Men films starring the X-Men. About time!

Their Dark Universe was doomed because they hired Kurtzman, who is for some reason very popular among movie studios like Kinberg or Goyer. Don't cite the 2003 Hulk movie, though, that's a bad example, especially since the Universal Studios of 2003 isn't the same as the one that exists now - management changes and all. The biggest issue with that movie was the convoluted screenplay, which started development in 1994 and never underwent a page one rewrite. You may say, oh that's Universal's fault, but Universal never bought the rights - Gale Anne Hurd set them up at Universal.

All of which point to incompetence. What a great studio to take on the X-Men!

You do know that Comcast buying 20th Century Fox would not mean that Universal Pictures would take over the 'X-MEN' franchise, right? But that the two studios would simply operate under the same corporate roof, with Fox still making their Marvel adaptations?
