One thing I think will happen is that this won't just be under the basic marvel brand. They can't just scrap Fox's highest grossing IP's and make fewer movies when acquiring a studio.

X-Men is likely gonna be under a new banner for them and they will use it to make multiple IP's. Makes no sense otherwise. They already said they want one for Deadpool like immediately after the deal happened. And since Deadpool is with the X-Men...

Now rather everyone will like it or not is a different story, but I expect them to see the obvious. The series already is proven to work with multiple films a year and characters. So I highly doubt it will be a one film every three year thing. Wolverine, Deadpool and X-Men alone are already worth billions. With their success on lesser known IP's they are gonna take advantage. Especially since that potential will be fresh. Plus that merch money awaits !

I would take XMA over a GOTG ******ed version of Xmen where Cyclops has a dance off against Apocalypse.

And i would take a dance-off over the bland, dull, unremarkable characters in Apocalypse any day of the week.

That's the strange mentality I have been seeing all to often lately. Everyone is like "Disney will make: Storm, Cyclops, Jubilee, Psylocke, Rogue, Gambit, Dazzler, Firestar, Marrow, Northstar, Sunfire, Doop etc.. give insert character here the will be soooooo well developed now with our 1 film every 3 years and occasional one off where they cameo one character in another film."

They can't do worse than Fox in that area so it will be a win. If the X-men feel like a team/family someThing they have barely felt in 20 years it will be a step forward and that's why the VAST MAJORITY of fans are excited about.

For me, it's more about the comic book's message. Everything the X-Men stood for, everything they fought for, their differences with Magneto and with mankind. If Marvel manages to give us stories that develop the message, even if some characters aren't represented as fans expect them to be, if they manage to capture that message throughout these few movies, then they'd have gotten the job done.

Marvel can give a character five-fifteen minutes of development in a film by planning carefully; that's how these ensembles work and that's what made X-Men great when they started. But these guys really cut all their plans short and started copy pasting action scenes and characters onto a very generic hollywood script template, and they even forgot to copy paste some of the lines the characters use in the comic books to make matters worse.

Personally, I was just hoping to see Anna Paquin's Rogue fly at last in Days of Future Past but Fox put pregnant Halle Berry on the cables instead. I am amazed at Berry's valor! But you gotta admit it would've made sense to have seen Rogue beating down some Sentinels with the rest of the team at some point in the franchise, alongside Emma Frost, Gambit and it's like we've been beating a dead horse here.

I'm not disagreeing with you on Rogue as it was easily the franchise's worst transgression. Still to be fair Halle didn't reveal she was pregnant until they had begun filming making them have to REDUCE her action. At any rate I am hoping for the best but I refuse to be apart of this delusion that Disney will suddenly make it all better and life will be butterflies and rainbows and all the X-Men will be exact duplicates of their comic counterpart. It is an impossibility that will no doubt leave me and anyone else who believes it dissapointed.

This is a good point. I'm not sure why fans are expecting the same studio that keeps wasting characters like Vision, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, War Machine, etc. to take a bunch of B and C-list X-Men and give them the spotlight.

Had the chance to speak with a friend far higher on the food chain than me at Fox over the weekend, and they clarified what they had told me about a couple weeks back regarding the upcoming X-Films.

According to my friend New Mutants & Dark Phoenix are both doa. Neither will see theatrical release. They have daily access to some Fox execs, I trust this person and it fits with everything else I've been hearing, so I'm confident in saying that both movies are effectively cancelled. She said Disney wants a clean slate & that the Mouse has told the Fox to shelve all planned releases. They said its a possibility that these two movies could see release on some streaming/television/Bluray platform years from now, but only after Disney has fully developed it's own X-Men Universe. Apparently the X-Force movie is still on the table, but it will likely be released under a title like "Deadpool 3: X-Force" or something along those lines rather than simply X-Force.

I expect an announcement to that effect to come sometime soon after the Fox/Disney deal is made "official" in a just a few days I believe.

Let this be true!

I dont know what type of movies are you guys watching. Vision and Wanda debuted 3 years ago and already got better material than Warren, Betsy, Jubilee and some more.

Fox has had 18 years and thats all they did with Angel and Psylocke.
Marvel has had 3 years using Wanda and Vision.

and about War machine... he has already joined the Avengers twice, acting as a friend, both in and outside the battle. We cant say the same with Angel after his 2 movies.

So try again, guys.

That's not saying much, though, is it? Fact remains that Marvel is still not using them to their full potential.

I'm just saying, fans who are expecting characters like Psylocke, Angel or freaking Dazzler to get the Captain America, Iron Man or even the Hulk or Black Widow treatment are only setting themselves for a disappointment.

lt can't possibly be worse than Jubilee as an eXtra for 4 films, then Psylocke as a villain in two films and Angel not being part of the team in two films. Fox have also wasted Gambit. While Dazzler, Forge and Polaris are way overdue for a film appearance. The thing is Marvel Stud10s has better track record Xpecially with lesser known characters.
