damm.... each time I see the adult cast together in a pic like that I get sad/frustrated with Fox all over again. They really had an amazing cast, man. Marsden, Berry, Jackman, Paquin and the latest additions Kelsey Grammer, Ellen Page, Ben Foster..... hell, even adding Tatum and Olivia Munn, we could have gotten easily the best superhero team ever.

but they had to do prequels. How typical hollywood. it was a cool idea, yeah, but it messed up the whole franchise big time and there was no turning back ever again.

For me the 'watchable movies are -

X-men, X-2, X-3, X-Men FC, X-Men DoFP, X-Men: A, Logan.

Out of those, the Bolded ones are the best.

I think The Wolverine has a lot going for it, made some mistakes, but overall I quite enjoyed it. I didn't see it in the cinema because of Origins, but I regretted that after seeing it.

Too bad Apocalypse got disintegrated, would have lovedddd to see him put back to sleep to reawaken in 2030 with OT cast

I don't accept baseless rumors as fact. You shouldn't either. Stop trying to blame Kinberg for things that weren't his doing. It's getting old at this point.

What’s getting old is people jumping on anyone that makes even a slightly negative comment about Kinberg. I’ve posted maybe two negative things regarding him, so I hardly see how it’s “getting old.” In fact, I’ve made it pretty clear that I’m cautiously optimistic for Dark Phoenix and am willing to give Kinberg the benefit of the doubt. So, yeah, the only person that should probably stop doing something that’s actually getting old is, well, not me. :o

Alot of people tend to forget The Wolverine exists. I don't think its because its a bad film but it just seems to be more of a low key movie.

There is nothing spectacular about it, or really bad about it. it just... is.

This for me.

The fact that we got as many good to even great movies as we did is pretty amazing in itself.

I agree with Original Banter here. Theres no need to try and defend everything Kinberg has done. There is points you have to accept hes messed up.

Preach!
The first two were good, X2 in particular, but I think DOFP and Logan were both better films.
I like DOFP but the lack of X-Men in the past, Lawrence lackluster performance and a lot of the Original Cast getting little to do brings it down for me. I think Jackman had better rapport with the Original Cast too. Overall FC also feels better paced to me than DOFP.

Just IMO.

I'm a fan of First Class too.
The entire Fox X-Men franchise has been so variable, they can be great, medicore or terrible. It's why I'm holding out hope for Dark Phoenix, there's a chance we're going to get another good one.

You posted a completely false accusation against Kinberg, then claim it as a mere 'negative thing regarding him' that has nothing to do with him. :loco: Part of the problem of people's apprehension of Kinberg are because of repeated claims such as that. Anyone is free to be critical of Kinberg, but make sure the criticism matches the accusation. Don't continue false rumors in an attempt to be negative simply for the sole reason that doing so is popular on this thread and then get bitter about it just because I pointed that out.

I can assign blame, not only to Kinberg, but to the other co-writers and Bryan Singer who were all part of creating and shaping the story & plot for Apocalypse. Why? Because Kinberg is not entirely responsible for the story. Other writers are credited, which according to the Writer's Guild, mean they each have a significant contribution to the final draft of the script. I simple don't ignore the others in an attempt to paint Kinberg as the main culprit of everything. But I can also praise Kinberg as well as the other co-writers and Bryan Singer for the storytelling of Days of Future Past. I don't assign onto Kinberg directorial duties or how a film was directed. That wasn't his job. Only Dark Phoenix will be a testament to that. So, I'm only stating what's factual rather than what's popular.:woot:

This is the first time I havent checked the SHH board for an X-film regularly in 12 yrs and Im sad its all infighting just like the current X-men books.

I really hope there is a trailer by Sept or well all be choking each other soon.

I love all the xmen movies (movies with the xmen title) because im a huge xmen fan but honestly, they really didnt reach my standard. It's like if i rate each movie from 1-10, 7 is the highest.

Thats why im glad Disney will take over.

That’s a great collage of the original cast, whatever happens all these guys did a great job!

Fully expect something to be shown by then if not sooner. If the 1st trailer hasn't premiered by Sept, then that's the time to worry about whether the film will ever release. Sept will be the same length of time that the first teaser for Apocalypse was released before that film's release date (around 5 months). The Disney-Fox acquisition isn't expected to close until around summer next year, so Disney won't have control over the movie before it releases (and Fox stockholders are scheduled to vote on whether to accept the bid on July 27). What happens to Dark Phoenix will be 20th Century Fox's call. But Fox said in a public statement it hasn't pulled Dark Phoenix from its release schedule, and Moving Picture Company still shows it's currently still in production working on the visual effects. However I haven't heard a peep about New Mutants.

I just realized Wolverine's not in the original cast pictures above and it works fine.

Just goes to show you that yes you can make an X5 without Wolverine before you wrap up. But please add Ellen Page's Kitty Pryde and Dafne Keen's Laura/X-23! :funny:

I still hope you have something during the SDCC ..
I do not like the possibility that they only start marketing the movie 5 or 4 months before the release, this and my opinion, I think when the previous movie was bad or badly received, the next movie always has to have a very big marketing for "cleaning up" the dirt and the mistrust that the previous one caused. And for me the fox is acting as if apocalypse had been a huge success, and automatically people are super hungry for the continuation, so it is not necessary to do strong marketing for DP.

IMO Fox should really have done some Deadpool esque marketing for this.
With all the delays and the uncertainty of Kinberg's 1st official directing gig, I would put out some concept art or little behind the scenes clips every 1-2 months to keep interest.

Especially since it seems almost certain that this will be the last "Mainline"X-film under Fox (Yes New Mutants is slated for August 2019-six months later), they should promote it as a big event film or end of an era thing.

Complacency affected them after the good reception of FC and DOFP. I usually check SHH every day since signing up circa 2006 for news about X-films. I only sporadically check here because there's barely any news on Dark Phoenix.

Days of Future Past had amazing marketing. It would be coming almost ten years after The Last Stand, so it was like seeing old friends one more time. They should market it like that, seeing old friends one last time. Release a teaser at SDCC, hype up the next teaser, have these 15 second trailer teasers on Instagram, huge lore websites and repeat that whole Empire cover magazine. Put out a lot of interviews with the cast and everything. Yet, I have a feeling they won't. X-Men will probably go out quietly with a long kiss goodnight.

Yes, DOFP marketing was incredible.
photos, interviews, videos showing power of every mutant of the movie, news, and various other things, even the site of the movie was very beautiful and interesting.
so I'm bothered by the silence in DP, this movie has a lot of things they can use for marketing, the last movie in the fox, aliens, a film focused on a female character, various things, but they just are not doing anything.

the problem I see regarding this being a "female centric" movie is that Marvel is just releasing their big first female movie ever pretty close to XMDP, so Marvel marketing will affect X-Men somehow, because, lets be honest, we all know Marvel marketing is a monster, and Fox's approach is weaker. Phoenix wont be sold as an event, as much as some at Fox would love it, but its just X-Men 7 to a huge portion of general audience. Most people wont know its the last x-men movie ever at Fox, or the end of this franchise/cast. And I highly doubt Fox sells it this way. its just the second movie of the new young cast, this factor makes it almost impossible to create a great hype. If this was the last last movie with original cast, the hype would be on another level, for obvious reasons.

Yes
but they need to do something
of course it will not do the same hype of Wonder Woman's first movie
but the fox needs to do something at least to show the audience that "Hey we're going to make a film focused on female character too and it's going to have aliens". the only news or something official about the movie is December of last year, while movies that will also focus on women (WW and Marvel film) are fueling their fans almost monthly with some news, some image or etc .. I think if they are thinking about making surprises is good, but it is no use catching the public by surprise with something that few people are paying attention to.
