Dark Phoenix is still getting released. It would be crazy not to at this point. They are going to shelve a 150 million film just to be pity.I think it will be the end of the Fox X-men film which hopefully will go out on a high note. Entertainment Weekly had said earlier that it would take two years for Disney to take over Fox. Just because the board agrees to it, it takes a while for everything to transfer over. There are plenty of examples of how slow the process can be in.

Maybe I'm in the minority but Mystique is one of the characters that I'd like to see redeemed by Marvel. She can be a great villain when used correctly.

I think you need her if you're going to do Rogue and Kurt again. I hope they don't take the Spider-man route and decide to put important characters like those in the back burner for his knows how long.

Only one big budget movie was never released. It was a Chinese movie that went through multiple directors and was a complete mess. It supposedly cost 200 million. There are plenty of low budget films that got canned because actors died, controversy, or just were really bad. And before you say the F4 film from the 90s that was very low budget. I don't see how it will hurt X-Men for Disney any worse than ASM 2 did for Spiderman. I doubt it will be F4 bad or anything.

I was half expecting M. Night's "Glass" posters to repeat the face-in-crotch look for Samuel L. Jackson and McAvoy.

Yeah, they’re very reminiscent of the other First Class Posters.

The DOFP theatrical floating head poster was also very questionable in its Photoshop execution (Xavier and his exploding diarrhea wheelchair, Storm's shapeless costume, Giant Mystique's bad make-up, etc).

True. I’m curious to see what they have in store for Dark Phoenix. Maybe Fox will feel pressured to release something this weekend, now that the Disney acquisition is imminent.

No surprise here. The writing’s been on the wall for months. If you asked me a year or two ago, I would have been against the rights reverting to Disney this early, but I really enjoyed Phase III, and it’s become increasingly clear that Fox’s long term lack of faith in these characters has left the franchise in a rut.

Phase III has been unbelievable, and you can see that Kevin Feige's careful long term planning is finally paying off big time. If he applies the same strategy on X-Men, we'd have so many epic stories that will show up on the big screen. I really can't wait to see what Feige has in store for our Merry Mutants.

Btw, I really don't think Fox will be releasing any movies without first consulting with Disney; they're on the same team now, and I doubt Fox will do anything to upset Iger and Disney, and that includes Dark Phoenix.

Very bad news.

It's like to to have (at least) the heart of Claremont's run (Fox), throw everything and come back to the early flat Lee's stories if we are lucky (Disney).

After Disney raped Spidey, Cap, Thor etc... (with the only exception of Daredevil, but it's more a Netflix thing).

Oh well, we will have costumes!

I agree. They’ll be a lot me faithful to the source material But let’s not pretend that the last two pages haven’t been been people whom don’t usually frequent this base coming in and trashing/dismissing Fox X men .....

Let's hope they put double the effort that Fox did in their world building and story telling because no MCU film except Winter Soldier has shown it can handle Xmens tone and thematic depth.
