That's an excellent question! Which could very well be that my assumptions are wrong. The question now, is are they still continuing reshoots? Or is the reshoots an X-cuse to pull back on the film's release?

I'm pretty sure reshoots finished like a week or so ago.

they released the trailer with the date for the 14th, to see which strategy was to follow and what better date to launch?

The talk for years was that people at FOX sabotaged X3 out of spite. So the idea that someone would do it again doesn't surprise me.

I recall somewhat. I know Rothman back then hated these films and I think Singer leaving for Superman was part of it. I recall Lauren Shuler-Donner speaking before X3's release, I think, that there would be no X4 which left me feeling gutted. For me the X-men franchise will be remembered largely for what they could of done with the original cast, a glimpse of that we got in Days of Future Past.

Oh, I hope they release it. Otherwise we'll see for decades and decades Kinberg/FOX fans saying what a brilliant piece of art that movie was but that Feige and Disney execs never allowed it to be released. And that it would have revolutionized CMBs, won 14 Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actress for Sophie, Best Actor for McAvoy, Supporting Actor for Fassbender, Supporting Actress for Lawrence.

This movie was "dead" online. In a sense that there was no news about it. Then they relese the trailer the some pics, get the general attention and everybody talking about.. only to release this news 24 hours later? And news like that, especially being the second delay, does bring a lot of negativity. So it does look like they are aware of what they're doing. Like some said above, it seems deliberate.
