Dark Phoenix X-Men: Dark Phoenix News and Speculation Thread - - - - - - Part 15

Laura Shuler Donner can be a producer for the new X-Men movies the same way Jon Peter was a producer on Man of Steel

thats where her involvement will probably begin and end

Can someone ask him why it's been pushed back again? Need more time to edit? Just hoping Disney will ask to cancel the whole thing? Are they they trolling Marvel?

I don't know Steve but does he have good taste in movies? I'm not sure the music should be the selling point to a good movie but rather in this case good action and good effects..

I think that scene
with all the destruction in the city
will be Phoenix' big firebird appearance

I wouldn't mind Storm, Jean , Rogue and Psylocke as the new big four.
They could all be huge female characters for the MCU. And there are many more X-women who could have a significant presence.

Unreliable. He had great word on Apocalypse prerelease. Imo, he's friends with the studio and their crew. And spreading good word of mouth inXchange of scoops from Fox and company.

So does he do that Marvel Studios too? Because he is pretty tight with them also.

I've follow Frosty for three years now. You know when he doesn't like something because he doesn't talk about it.

He is extremely reliable, usually someone who breaks news and gives a pretty good opinion on most films. Of course, films are subjective, so he might like things you don't like and vice versa. But to say this man is unreliable is BS. He gets **** right the majority of the time.

How Fox operate regarding the rights is part of whatever distribution deal they struck with her company. Whatever transfer to Marvel, she's involved. Film rights are rights under copyright law to produce a film as a derivative work of a given item of intellectual property. Even this quote from an article in 2017 recognizes:

I cant believe i'm even replying to this insanity. But I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt as I think you might be misunderstanding the gatekeeper/producer role Lauren has over @ Fox. Shes basically the Kevin Feige @ Fox of the X-Men universe. However that doesn't mean she owns the x-men. No no no.Fox has just put her in charge of everything x-men. Feige is the president of Marvel Studios and he helped shape and create the MCU but it doesn't mean he owns the MCU. Disney does.

Just as Fox as the owns the X-Men movie rights they don't actually own the x-men brand. Even then the movie rights are on shaky ground there are certain guidelines Fox must follow like produce a movie every 3-4 years or lose the rights. (Which will become void once Disney owns Fox) I dont know the specific details i'm jusing using that as an example.

Then you have Simon Kinberg who is to Lauren as Louis d'esposito is to Feige. Make sense?

Sorry anyone with good word about Apocalypse is way off..

It really feels like the inevitable storm coming where this is the last film with this cast before a reboot happens to fit into the MCU. Sucks cause fassnender and macavoy are goldmin these roles

I still want Fassbender and McAvoy in the MCU at some point even if its as other characters.

if those two are the main producers of the x-men movies now, the lack of excitement they transmit is impressive.
Good luck, dear X-Men

Like any producers then. Its just a normal casual interview.

You don't have to be ratty about everything ya know

I've seen other producers give off more excitement. And It really does give off the vibe they just dont care. But giving them the benefit of doubt. Maybe it was at the end of a long day since they are in the editing bay and in the middle of reshoots. But still.

I suggest you watch more interviews for directors and producers. They're not the the most expressible type except for a select few( James Wan). Theres a few Keven Feige and JK Rowling interviews were they just don't express that much emotion.

They're both top actors, so yeah sure, I'll take them for any roles they fit well to.

I honestly got the vibe they were forced to be there by the studio, to do damage control or something.
its like..... wow. man. Totally unbothered by this little fan meeting.
Last days of the franchise, indeed. And they clearly know it
