Dark Phoenix X-Men: Dark Phoenix News and Speculation Thread - - - - - - Part 15

So you use a hypothetical that didn't happen to back that up? If you say so. Lol

It's not only the 10 year gap that legitimately proves that one's power could improve, I think we've kind of seen that happen many times and with many people, you know like in the comics.

But hey, if you want to take issue with why someone is capable of doing something that they weren't able to do years ago, I guess that's your right.

I want to know what happens in those 10 year gaps.

Are there other missions, other threats, and if so, why don't we know about them?

It's like we are expected to believe a big event only happens in their lives once every 10 years. It's extremely contrived.

I’ve been saying all along it was longer than 2 weeks but certain people don’t like that.
That was because actors was only on set for that amount of time. If they’ve cut scenes then it makes more sense they’ve reshot it

If Kinberg was clever he would show some flashbacks or some sort of history between the sagas. But I think the events of apocalypse will be completely ignored and it’s a ‘new iteration’. As in the same writer of the franchise for ten years

Alot of threats wouldn't suit a movie to show. oh a big burning building. the X-Men are the only ones that can save the day and get in there... ok thats cool and all, but thats not so much movie material.

That's fair. I'm not a fan of the 10 year gaps either. I just don't think much or any explanation is needed to explain why someone can do something now that they weren't able to do before. It's called learning. Lol.

Reminds me of what MCU do with Iron man. he suddenly has all these new gadgets each movie... we don't see him creating them. you just kinda assume it happened off screen for whatever reason and now he has this cool ability.

I think it's more the case that this franchise repeatedly ignores the previous instalment(s)...

One thing I am definitely looking forward to with Disney is solid continuity and the proper building of an X-Men world without wonky inconsistencies.

What is your source and proof that the reshoot lasted longer than 2.5 weeks?

I'm sure he will answer that but - come on! - you cannot film a new third act in two weeks.

As far as i can tell, it takes about three months to film a blockbuster movie. An effects-heavy sequence like the finale (with all the wirework, practical effects etc) is gonna take more than two weeks, lol. Get real!

Exactly! We’re talking about 30 minutes of film, if they managed to reshoot a third act in that amount of time it really is ****

New trailer and all we can talk about is reshoots. I guess that happens when they don't really give out any new footage.

Except for Magneto, whose powers are only as good when Apoccy gives him a power boost.

Except for Jean Grey, who forgot she unleashed a fiery bird.

I just watched it, I think she raises some valid and interesting points (and makes some amusing sarcastic comments). I don't agree with it all but she knows the books and the movies, I like that she knows the comic source material and is not just some random ranting person...

I usually hate her videos but she didn't say anything particularly egregious here. She said she wondered what the MCU could possibly do with the X-men since Fox mined the comics so much, which I totally disagree with since Fox's approach of telling the same story with the same four characters really just means they scratched the surface.

But she raised points about how the film should just look better and that it's bizarre of Kinberg to stick so closely to X3.

If refusing to believe Kinberg will write these characters any differently than how he’s mishandled them for the past 13 years, then yes I suppose I’m playing up the hypothetical. “Fool me once...” and all that.

Good luck on getting a Storm that’s more than just white hair and a SF/X pair of hands though!

I’d rather see these characters develop into the Storm, Cyclops, Jean, Nightcrawler, Beast that I know and love. I don’t want to be told they are now awesome. I want to see that journey. I don’t want to miss out on that character development. As they say, show don’t just tell.

But I guess you’re fine with how Kinberg has been writing them. Tell me which Simon Kinberg scripts did you love?

THANK U.

that is the most stupid thing of these prequels. Its like nothing interesting happens in XMen's lifes in 10 years. Talk about a non realistic approach.
Its just pathetic.

As someone who has been rooting for this movie since day one....im getting worried. Nothing in any of these trailers has given me that WOW factor that I’ve been waiting for. I was hoping this final trailer was gonna be the “lets bring out the guns” trailer but, eh, I dont know. Sophie Turner’s acting is worrying me, her line deliveries are rough and, correct me if im wrong but are they retconning Apocalypse because Jean already had the Phoenix force in that movie?

I dunno, I wanna be optimistic but Im seeing a few red flags. By the way Im one of the six people of REALLY enjoys Xmen Apocalypse.
