Dark Phoenix X-Men: Dark Phoenix News and Speculation Thread - - - - - - Part 15

I think problems with Alita affected the release of this more so. Still....JUNE?

It is written and directed by the writer and producer of Fant4stic.

I love that people bring up his producing credits ''Deadpool! Logan! Deadpool 2!''... yeah, but he didn't write or direct them.

You can also now tell that Jane Goldman and Matthew Vaughn are to credit for Days of Future Past.

If Feige is overseeing the transition of Marvel properties from Fox to Disney... I would assume he would be able to take a look at the current working production of the film. If he didn't like it... he could have put his foot down.
And he could have done that months ago.

I pretty sure it will still get released in theaters. Unlike New Mutants, this series has a base of supporters and some big name stars, and according to the Deadline article the trailer was well received in China. It will have zero impact on Avengers 4, and It doesn't appear as though this will impact any future MCU plans - if there were any Skrull appearances, they have been Skrubbed. Writer/Director/Producer Kinberg will get his finale and then we can all move on............and get ready for Gambit: The Movie in 2020!
I already booked my 2020 calendar for that 1!

At this point I'm not even sure it's worth making fun of Fox anymore. They've managed to alienate even their most die hard fans.

Even if this does get a theatrical release, this marketing screw up probably just cost them a third of their gross.

Didn't Fox know that Dark Phoenix was going to be pushed back to June? It can't have taken them completely by surprise the day after the DP trailer was released.

Why, if they were going to release it at all, didn't they just cut the part at the end that said it was coming in Feb 2019? Or delay the trailer long enough to make a new title card with the new date instead of reacting to the leaked trailer and rushing the existing one out?

It can't be that they thought "Yes, it's coming out in Feb 2019" only to come in the next day and be told it's June 2019 and say "Wha...? When did that happen?"

they can even launch a new trailer on february
but who will be confident that this movie will not be delayed again?
probably in June or a little before it should be announced the sale to disney totally, do they really think that possibly release this movie after this is a good option?

Another thing that scared me, another deapool in December? LoL I'm in a nightmare.

And he could have done that months ago.

No idea who's influence this is. For all I know, this could be Fox executives acting in accordance to what they feel the new Disney bosses want.

Theyve killed this film with this news. Summer 2019 is jam packed.

I told it will be released next June, days ago!

I dont think it has to be with the movie quality.

1- They had to change the date for Alita, to many movies, as a consequence DP moved also.

2- They had to change the movie cause since the merge, they wont have two movie story, so it has to finishe the right way, so they thought it could be a good oportunity to give time to finish it and sell it the right way..

But yes...waiting more time is very upsetting.. but i love it and i will wait..

The current release date puts Dark Phoenix in-between Godzilla 2 and the new Men in Black reboot.

This I can believe. But again this is all assuming that these date changes were all because of Dark Phoenix and not Alita. Either way it's a dumb move marketing wise and I still don't believe it's a move to not release it when they could just do that.

I thought Hellboy moving was good for this film and this news came out!

would not it be easier, move allita to June? is to keep DP in February?
or even advance DP for January?

After all, do you still think this movie is going to be released? I think not, probably in March they should announce new date change.
I already accepted that I will never see this film, so I suffer less.

I can not believe it will be released
in June it will have a lot of competition, if they were changed to february to have less competition, it is laughable that the launch in a month with a lot of competition is true.

Why would they want to do that though?

I mean look. It's not like studio executives know what they are doing all the time. Look at The Predator. They thought they were fixing the movie based on test screening reactions. Instead, they just made it worse.
