It’s strange but I keep forgetting they actually have a really good team of people working on this movie.

Sadly this is true of many threads around here. :p

I cant believe i'm even replying to this insanity. But I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt as I think you might be misunderstanding the gatekeeper/producer role Lauren has over @ Fox. Shes basically the Kevin Feige @ Fox of the X-Men universe. However that doesn't mean she owns the x-men. No no no.Fox has just put her in charge of everything x-men. Feige is the president of Marvel Studios and he helped shape and create the MCU but it doesn't mean he owns the MCU. Disney does.

Just as Fox as the owns the X-Men movie rights they don't actually own the x-men brand. Even then the movie rights are on shaky ground there are certain guidelines Fox must follow like produce a movie every 3-4 years or lose the rights. (Which will become void once Disney owns Fox) I dont know the specific details i'm jusing using that as an example.

Then you have Simon Kinberg who is to Lauren as Louis d'esposito is to Feige. Make sense?
I think you have a misunderstanding to what I'm saying. I'm not saying she owns the x-men simply because she's a producer on nearly all x-men properties. I'm saying back in the 90s....she worked for Fox. She helped secure the x-men film rights from Marvel (by Avi Arad at Marvel in 93-94) for Fox through her production company.
He was involved in Marvel's emergence from bankruptcy and the expansion of the company's profile through licensing and movies.
Her production company then negotiated a deal with Fox. The details of that deal are not made public. Fox is now the face of that property. Her position at Fox is likely tied to the details of that contract. It's why you will often see quotes like this:
In 1994, 20th Century Fox and producer Lauren Shuler Donner bought the film rights to the X-Men.
She was involved in securing the rights with Fox.

I honestly got the vibe they were forced to be there by the studio, to do damage control or something.
its like..... wow. man. Totally unbothered by this little fan meeting.
Last days of the franchise, indeed. And they clearly know it

Its probably in their contract to do publicity.

Lets entertain the idea that what your saying is true. It doesnt matter anyway. Since Disney will adopt whatever contract she has in place with Fox so the x-men will still join the MCU. If she appears as a producer on the first MCU X-Men movie then your theory might hold some weight. Until then we cant really say for sure.

It's true:
Someone in Donner’s office put the X-Men comics in front of her. Though she didn’t grow up with the characters, the seasoned storyteller could smell potential; long before Marvel Studios launched (at that time it was known as Marvel Films), Shuler Donner alongside Avi Arad and Stan Lee, helped Twentieth Century Fox lock down an entire multiverse of mutants. Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man hadn’t even slung his first web for Sony Pictures when Shuler Donner, director Bryan Singer, and Fox took a big gamble on a pair of British thespians and an unknown Australian actor to lead 2000’s X-Men. “We thought, ‘That’s it, we’ll never work again,‘ ” Shuler Donner has said. But that gamble paid off—big time.
She expressed interest in working with Disney as she's stated so many times, so I don't see why she wouldn't. She already knew all the major players at Disney for years. I assume Disney will simply take over Fox's role in the contract with her unless they renegotiate something different.

So does he do that Marvel Studios too? Because he is pretty tight with them also.

I've follow Frosty for three years now. You know when he doesn't like something because he doesn't talk about it.

He is extremely reliable, usually someone who breaks news and gives a pretty good opinion on most films. Of course, films are subjective, so he might like things you don't like and vice versa. But to say this man is unreliable is BS. He gets **** right the majority of the time.
He's a yes man. I remember when Goldberg had to post his negative Mummy review on his own site because Collider didn't want to risk pissing off Kurtzman who was coming in to do an interview. I'm not saying Frosty isn't a genuine fan, but he's definitely an ass kisser whose objectivity is questionable at best.

Yeah totally unreliable.

Pretty sure it’s only for the attendees, no point in releasing out footage of this film that is now 8 months away lol. Don’t fret I’m sure there will be articles describing what was shown.

So, hold up a sec...
In Apocalypse Jean already went Phoenix, but this movie is going to show the classic retcon that the Phoenix Force takes her over during a low orbit rescue?

Yup. Total lack of awareness of what they've done before. I don't even know why it still surprises me in even the slightest way.

The fact that this keeps happening movie to move is one of the most infuriating things.

Unreliable. He had great word on Apocalypse prerelease. Imo, he's friends with the studio and their crew. And spreading good word of mouth inXchange of scoops from Fox and company.

Lost a lot of respect for Collider once they did a round table with Rian Johnson and allowed nobody to ask any questions about the divide the TLJ caused just a big circle jerk I was done with them as far as credibility was concerned

It has been confirmed by Kinberg that new footage for DPh will be shown this Friday. With new music by Hans Zimmer.

Have fun.

Appreciate it and can't wait hopefully I can get in to the auditorium where it's being shown group i'm going with left the fox men after X:A so they going to object lol

According to the synopsis Jean is getting a power boost alongside her space parasite. But she was powerful enough to kill an immortal mutant god in the last one, so I don't know how much more Phoenix-y she needs to be. It's like Thanos snagging a seventh stone.
