Iger has alluded to wanting Deadpool to carry on in the mcu. He said something along the lines of recognising that Deadpool makes money. There's also the rumour of a R rated Black Widow film.

I was referring to the question about seeing Fox’s X-Men under Disney.

Deadpool getting written into the MCU somehow (maybe through time travel) with subsequent MCU X-Men or Spiderman cameos, sure.

Not Fox's X-Men though. X-Men needs a hard reboot where the characters' essence is captured on screen and where these characters weren't born so many decades apart, and most importantly a different writing team to put together ensemble films that are inspiring and that focus on superheroes, not just action stars with cool visual effects.

That's defiently new dialogue (sounds like beast).

They released an international (I believe it was Japanese) trailer (edited verion fo the first trailer) a couple of weeks/month after we got the "English" trailer.
Does this mean we could be getting it soon.

On a call with investors, Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger said that Disney will continue to make R-rated Deadpool movies and other adult-oriented Marvel adventures after it absorbs much of Fox.


“We will continue in that business,” promised Iger, adding, “There’s certainly popularity” with those types of films.

Iger hinted that these films won’t be released under the traditional Marvel or Disney banner. The company will make it an effort to ensure it is “carefully branding [R-rated films]…so we’re not in any way confusing the consumer,” Iger said.

Wake me up when the new trailer drops!!! I’m getting tired of this merry go round ..i’m Honestly loosing interest in comic book movies in general..no matter who makes them dc Disney. Fox marvel etc ...i’m Way more excited for this new Quentin taritino movie..REAL art!!!! Cinematic masterpiece (probably) a movie I can enjoy with out all the bickering and jawing on message boards about what it’s going to at the box office or if the custumes are comic book accurate!!!, all the I hate (insert writer or director or actor ) they are hacks!! Who are you all to call said writer director actor hacks??? Let me see your Wikipedia page?? Like really come o? It’s a comic book movie it’s for kids!!! I've never used the word hack until now but i have used wikipedia here before. Kinberg's X-Men aren't superheros. They're his action figures. And no, these movies (and the comics) are for audiences across all age groups. It's like saying Harry Potter books are for kids when in reality they appeal to very mature audiences.

Edit: Oh, I see, you're one of those guys who hates the fact Black Panther got a few Oscar nominations. What a hater!

Besides experts who've followed this movie have said they changed the date of Alita from Dec 2018 to Feb 2019 because they wanted to let it play during Chinese New Year. Instead they got a February 22nd release date meaning it won't enjoy the holidays of CNY (which is from Feb.5 to Feb.18).

You still don't understand. No foreign movies play during the CNY. China always hold back foreign films a few weeks to prevent competition for domestic movies, as Variety pointed out:

China’s movie industry regulators usually reserve the Chinese New Year season for the release of Chinese-language titles.

In fact, Alita will be the first Hollywood title to enter middle kingdom theaters after CNY, as Deadline stated:

For Alita, it’s about the date, to have the first movie coming out of Chinese New Year, being day and date.

It still gives the movie a better chance than Dec date. Last year, March's monthly sales in Chinese cinemas were only about half of what February's sales did which set a world record for monthly sales in a single market.

For over a year now you've been admonishing anyone that blamed Kinberg for the lacklustre scripts from his previous movies. He didn't direct those, you said, so it ultimately wasn't up to him. You've told people that X3, F4 and Apocalypse were Ratner's, Trank's and Singer's faults respectively.

What happened to that narrative?

Nothing happened. Directors are responsible for the outcome of the movie. It's not the director's job to organize scheduling. That's why they have other people to handle that. Neither of those directors were responsible for organizing the scheduling of reshoots of those films. They ARE responsible for handling the direction of the reshoots...hence...."DIRECTOR". Thought that was common sense...

Most of those movies have not had first-time directors, with horrendous ghost-directing experiences, with bad word-of-mouth screenings. Most of those movies didn't shift their release date TWICE. ALL of those movies didn't feature the wrong release date for months LATER, Cktop33.

So what? It doesn't dismiss the fact that studio change release dates for their movies all the time. You act like it's something unfathomable. It's not.

So you think this is a $150M+ opener? This same studio was afraid to open against a movie in November that made $20M on opening weekend and ultimately only banked $170M+ WORLDWIDE. Apocalypse--the last movie in this franchise--made your $150M+ in three months, NOT three days...

Take off those rose-coloured glasses, Cyclops. Fox didn't move this movie to June so they can make $150M+ on opening weekend.

They moved it because the movie is not finished! Unless Fox is willing to release an unfinished movie, anything other than that is just noise.

Let me explain how this works. No studio knows for certain whether or not a film is going to be a $150M+ opener. But to even get to that possibility you have to have enough screens reserved in advance. As I previously stated, box office results reflect the number of screens and the efficacy of singling the target audience. Not the appeal of the actual movie. Some wide release movies that reserve the amount of screens needed either met or surpassed the targeted number, while others with the same number of screen reserves didn't. Those are the facts. The movie will be finished before June.That date is simply the next best pick for release which already had screens reserved. You should be the last person to talk about rose-coloured glasses.....Endzo.

Yes as I've said previously, and based on the Deadline.com article that you're quoting (from 5 months ago!) that was the plan...that was what Fox was hoping in moving it to February. That's not what happened though. A movie releasing "day and date" means the movie would have the same release date in China as it does in North America. Instead it's coming out February 14th in the US and a week later in China, and thus already passed the CNY Holidays. That's not "day and date." Again, research. But thanks for proving my point.

I was gonna respond to every ridiculous point in your post, but I'd hate to turn this into another back and forth so I’ll just respond to your last one. There is 0% possibility that Dark Phoenix is a $150M+ opener. Zero. Zilch. Nada.

I'll repost this and continue to repost this (and even bolden it) until people stop lying about the reason for the February to June delay:
Fox delayed Dark Phoenix to June because the movie is not finished! Kinberg said so. Unless Fox and/or Kinberg is willing to release an uncompleted movie, any other reason that anyone comes up with is just noise.

I don’t hate black panther Oscar nom, I really hate the fact that the Oscar commitee is pandering to the black community..they know full well that BP is not best picture Oscar worthy, they are pandering to the audience for the damage control they received a few years ago about the oscars being “so white”...i’m Black and I am also really into black film makers and black actors but I call a spade a spade when I see it ( no pun intended) in the real world I talk to and debate with a lot of people ..and the consensus is that black panther is not best picture Oscar worthy even from people that loved the movie!! The oscars want a black audience..maybe this has been a down year for Oscar worthy movies...how many spike lee movies have been Oscar nominated???

I hate to go and piss in the captain marvel parade on there forum but I just watched that clip of her fighting on a train..and WOW I expect more from the MCU , I know it’s just a clip but can you imagine if fox released a snippet of a lazy action clip from dark phx with that lazy “poor choreographedl punch !!! Oh and there is an editing mistake or vfx mistake tooo....

The colour grading and generic look of that train sequence looks very TV-ish. One thing im looking foward to about Dark Phoenix is the cinematography, which from the trailers looks very appropriate for the mood and tone of the film.

I understand why simon made a more "real" genosha
it would be nice to logically see a genosha as it is shown in the comics, but in a film that goes on in the 80s / 90s, in which genosha is still in "construction" I see no reason for criticism.
I have a different view of things, I like it when the directors take something from the comics but they do it differently.
