Good to hear. Especially since the film looks actually pretty good and well made. Simon Kinberg seems to have a firm grasp as director and an interesting, if subtle (which I like, BTW), visual style. It would be a pity to find out otherwise.

To me, the fact that he even went ahead with the reshoots tells me he’s gotten a good grasp of the full process as a director. I just hope this final cut maintains a lot of the story and development integrity from what I saw with its noticeable cut down. There was a lot even cut before what I saw and I was pushing for some of it back in.

He also co-wrote "Sherlock Holmes" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past," and produced movies such as "Elysium," "The Martian," "Deadpool" and "Logan."

Not saying he's a great screenwriter, but people online go over the top with the hate. The clips so far look good, he might actually surprise as director. If the film sucks, I'm going to be the first one saying he shouldn't direct.
I think DOFP is a well written film. We can debate what Kinberg did or didn't write in that movie however, I'm pretty sure he did write the scene between Mystique and Magneto in the phone booth since it was a pick up. That is one of my favorite scenes in the film.

I'm not worried about the reshoots either. On the surface the reshoots for DOFP sounded like a disaster, but imo the film was much better for them.

Yeah, "Dark Phoenix" has definitely had the best 'superhero movie posters' this year. Probably folloewd by the poster campaign for "Hellboy." Last year it was "Deadpool 2," IMO.

BTW, I LOVE your avvy @carpenter82 !!

They are TV spots ain't they? just are just marketing mini trailers showing up on TV and youtube.

Remember seeing that shot for the first time in the Special Edition DVD documentary for "Batman" (it's been ported over to the Blu-ray version, as well, of course).

Army guy: Like I said we're not here for you, Erik--"I was imprisoned for assassinating POTUS JFK" "I lifted RFK Stadium dropped it on top of the White House and, in front of millions of TV viewers, threatened to assassinate POTUS Nixon and his Cabinet" "I helped Apocalypse murder millions of innocents across the globe"--Lensherr. No "Magneto," we're here to arrest some redhead who flipped a couple of cars in a suburb in New York.
bought the new entertainment weekly special today. They were hidden on the bottom rack where no one could see so I moved them front and center. Did my promotional duties haha
It'd be interesting to see if EW comes out with a Dark Phoenix cover before its release. I've only found one Dark Phoenix cover in the Chapters (Canadian Barnes & Noble) magazine rack. It was the SciFi magazine with the new~ish Kinberg interview. Seems like the production didn't prepare any magazine tie-ins for this movie.
