Fox really didn't have the resources to market the way Disney did for the MCU because of the licensing agreements.Perfect representation of what was being discussed a few weeks back. Fox has done nothing to keep the X-Men relevant with the GP, so kids and teens need something like this because they have no idea who these characters are. So yeah the ad is stupid but it makes perfect sense.
What Disney has done is remarkable, but it's a completely different beast. I remember after the first Avengers movie, I'd see pictures of Disney stores in malls overflowing with superhero stuffed animals and an absurd explosion of garbage merchandise. I'm glad little kids are getting to enjoy what I first discovered in comic books when I was young, but the edge and appeal has been neutered for me, and that's why most of the MCU movies aren't my thing.
I'm hoping that if Disney does make X-Men more family friendly, they keep the message of tolerance in there.
I loved what little we got but we should have had more.
