Dark Phoenix X-Men: Dark Phoenix News and Speculation Thread - - - - - - Part 15

X3 is widely considered one of the worst XMen films. I dont know anyone in my life outside of these forums that actually likes the film. When discussing XMen films it always comes up as "that really bad one".
Nah, I don't think that's entirely true. Sure fans were rightfully annoyed by how the Phoenix storyline was handled in the movie, but overall it didn't have that much of a bad rep. People were just a bit underwhelmed. Most that came after X-Men Origins: Wolverine was even worse and left a sour taste in people's mouth.

I doubt MCU would keep the Iceman in the refrigerator that long, Xpecially FoX didn't even use him after Dofp. As for the other 19, of course no one should eXpect that Marvel would adapt them all in a small amount of time like into 2 to 3 years and get it right, that obviously would take more than a decade.
I know this response is super late, but I still find it unlikely we'll see Iceman. Disney won't want to deal with the struggle of whether or not to have the character be gay in the movie. If they don't people will complain and if they do people will complain as well.

I guess at least they were consistent in how inconsistent her arc was?

She meant 'you are not kids when wearing personalized uniforms'.
When they lost those in the next 10 years they became kids again. :o

It's obvious Xavier got so mind wipe happy over the years that the characters have lost all sense of who they are. :hehe:

No lies detected here.

Are you sure you're on the right side? The only other person who 'believes' Singer was on set the whole time is our resident flat-earther GuestStar...

Since i am brought up here, i guess i best throw my point across. whether that article is true or not, i have read this prior.

Reports of Singer's erratic behavior on set go back more than a decade, but Fox lived through some of the worst of it on 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse. While Singer, 53, had some good moments, one insider says, he was "emotionally very frail," often unprepared and late to set. If challenged about his behavior, he sometimes cried. Meanwhile, there were the usual distractions, this source says. Singer had visitors constantly coming and going — "People flying in and out of town, put up in hotels, all on his dime." Given all that, this person adds, "I was kind of shocked when they went forward with Rhapsody. How many at-bats do you get?"
"How Many At-Bats Do You Get?": Why Fox Hired (Then Fired) Bryan Singer on 'Bohemian Rhapsody'

But quite honestly again you go by the evidence. he was always pictured on set. there isn't many moments where he isn't pictured on set. now being the flat-earther i am, if i was to look at the earth in space i probably wouldn't think it was flat because its right there, as clear as day. now if i just took a random guess because i was walking on a flat surface 24-7 id probably assume it was flat. so make of that what you will.

Now does that mean he was on set the whole time? no thats just either overestimating or underestimating without the bit in between. it can't just he was there 24-7 or he wasn't there at all. i think he there for the most part. whether unprofessionally or not.

Hmm, I guess the "choices I've made in my head" are justified after all. :sigh: This movie may be a bigger loss than Fant4stic and the Phoenix along with the brand, will be damaged.

Kinberg wishes he was Rian Johnson.

I... I can make nothing of this.

X-Men Composer & Editor Reveals Abandoned Beast Spin-Off Script - ComingSoon.net

The script is interesting. Small scale which I think we needed and uses the X-Men more like a bookend in an effort to develop Beast, but I don’t think the sort justified a Beast/Wolverine buddy adventure. Wolverine was just a prop, as is the X-Men but I’d given much more focus which we all know wouldn’t have brought Hugh back to the role. The entire screenplay is there.

The idea of a multi-film arc with Sinister pulling the strings is interesting and could have easily lead to the start of the Dark Phoenix Saga.

When the youngest characters on that mission had to be in their late 20s at least and the oldest in their early 50s, how could any of them be considered "kids"?

So FOX had plans for another white male character spin-off?
*pretends to be shocked*

They should have carried on with the Sinister story they set up previously rather than Dark Phoenix. That would have been the fresh and exciting story that fans of the series have been craving. Long-running franchises need to break new ground if they want to stay relevant.

At least that means we can get sinister early on in MCU X-Men.

Nah. I’m thankful they never touched Mr. Sinister since that leaves him available for Marvel Studios use in the MCU. Besides Kinberg would’ve ruined him like he and Singer ruined Apocalypse.

Do you judge something based on what you see? or by what you assume?

In the case of Singer's time on set, impossible to know as I wasn't there. Considering the stark contrast between DOFP and Apocalypse in terms of quality, the increased legal pressures that gained traction during DOFP's release and the tendency for bad behaviour to spiral; I'd say Singer had bad habbits that got much worse between one film and the other.

As for flat earth, I go by established facts and things you can experience by climbing a tree or looking at boats on the horizon.
