Days of Future Past X-Men: Days of Future Past Speculation

Stephen has that bad guy look, white hair, muscles and all....

but at the end of the day is a matter of prefference, and I wouldnt like him as Cable. For ME, he isnt as great as the Cable from the comics.

I guess its the same that happens to many fans with Halle Berry, or to others with Hugh.

He's just too damn old.

Which also further proves the Hollywood double standard. Amy Adams gets flack for being close to 40. Famke Janssen can't return as Jean cause she's pushing 50. People always complaining about the age of the female characters, but the males can be any age.

Not for me. If Cable was always shown as a young man, then I'd see Lang as wrong for the role. The guy looks just like Cable, age and all, so that's why I see him as ideal. Heck, Avatar even had him with some facial scars that slightly resembled Cable's. It's his destiny!

Stephen Lang is like the safest choice for the role! Thats like saying Jaime Alexander should be Wonder Woman! So no.

And JP, Amy Adams and Famke Jannsen look good for their age.
The safest choice doesn't mean the worst choice. Henry Cavill seems like a safe choice for Superman, Hemsworth's safe for Thor, Evans is safe for Cap, yet they're perfect for the roles(not yet completely sure about Cavill but it seems like it so far).

Here's a very recent pic of Cable. Now that's an older man.

I think someone like John Cena would be the right age and powerful, thick-set build, but I have never seen Cena's film roles to assess if he can act. If not Cable, Cena might make a better Juggernaut.

He can't.

Maybe Cena would work as Juggernaut. I'd be against wrestlers playing roles like that, but Tyler Mane was fantastic as Sabertooth so I'm not so sure. I need to see how his acting skills are, and according to craig, they're nothing to write home about.

In article mentioning THR report and speculating on other X-Men trilogy vets being In DOFP
Dark Horzions may be reporting on more of the first Class returing actors

Both Rose Byrne and january Jones are Including as returning First Class cast members
with james Mcavoy,Michael Fassbender,Jennifer Lawrence,and nicholas Holt.

They already used Juggernaut in X3, so I don't want to see him again.

John Cena would work as Avalanche.

Can't say I agree. His Sabretooth was a near mute typical henchman. I thought Schreiber's Sabretooth was a breath for fresh air in comparison.

Mane as Sabretooth had the look of feral sabretooth but Schreiber as Sabretooth had the
personality of Sabretooth.

The 3 good performances from Non Bryan Singer films In mu oporion have been
Kelsey Grammer as blue and furry classic Beast
Ellen Page as pre Shadowcat Kitty Pryde
Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth

He's 60. I don't see why some can't see him as Cable, I think he'd be perfect for it.

Plus it's not like Cable's always depicted as being a young man.

Yeah, hed be an awesome Cable. Cable is very rarely shown under the age of say 45, and most the time is shown older then that. Besides, we had an over 60 Magneto and that worked out fine. Lang can bulk up as well. Besides some being against it cause its an obvious choice (wasnt Patrick Stewart?) or popular opinion I really cant see what would be wrong.

How about Arnold as cable. Sending someone back to the past !!!

Regarding Jean, I believe we will see all of the main cast from the trilogy in the future fighting sentinels. Scott was just injured and not dead as we assumed. All mutants had their power back. The threat is sentinels.

Once the past was changed, the sentinels will not exist, but Jean is back and without the incident in San Francisco. Logan never arrive at the mansion, but instead has been living in Japan. Scott is the leader and Professor X was never killed.

Some interesting musings (re: rantings) from io9.
8 ways X-Men movie continuity is irretrievably ****ed

While I don't agree or feel as strongly with all the points raised, I can't help wondering how much longer the current franchise can continue without a full page-one reboot. I'm also drawing a complete blank as to what form that inevitable reboot will take.

I think if one ignores Origins: Wolverine and X3, most of those continuity issues diminish.

No, there's still plenty to go around just between FC and X1.

I don't think Chris Evans is perfect for Captain America. I find him a bit bland for the role, to be honest.

I think he was almost perfect. I'd say RDJ and Samual Jackson are the definition of "perfect" casting.

I thought Evans was awesome as a Cap. The majority of casting for both X Men and Avengers is pretty solid. My main problems have been not giving a character enough screen time, or adapting the wrong way. I even dug the XMOW casting alot for the most part.

If Evans had a more chiseled chin and slightly less boyish looks he'd be the perfect cap. He has the portrayal down.

Evans settled into the Cap role fine. I had my worries in the beginning, because Chris always seems more of a metrosexual 'pretty boy' rather than a super-macho type. But it worked out fine. There aren't many uber-manly types (Steve McQueen, Paul Newman, etc) left in Hollywood these days.

I agree. But Captain America is a pretty bland character to begin with so maybe he was perfect? But it was as if they somehow made Evans even blander than he is normally!

For me, the perfect Captain America would be someone like Brad Pitt. I just never considered Chris Evans as a great actor and I'm used on seeing him playing the boy-next-door roles. So when I watched him playing a goody-good character, I just found him bland for the role. He's a very good-looking guy but I don't think he has the *spark*.

Alan Cumming willing to return as Nightcrawler.

http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/174025-alan-cumming-wants-to-come-back-as-nightcrawler

"I haven’t gotten the call. Someone told me that Nightcrawler doesn’t appear in the story but I don’t know, I think they would have called by now. It was funny that film because I really like it and everyone really responded to Nightcrawler and enough time has elapsed that I would like to go back to it. Although then when I did that film it was sort of the start of this spate of superhero and comic books made into films so it felt a little more special then it does now. X2 was a really great film, not just as a comic book film. I think it’s one of the films I’d been in that I think of as really good."

Out of all the old cast members, I'd want Nightcrawler back the most. I LOVED Cumming's Nightcrawler. He was without a doubt my favorite part of X2.
