Days of Future Past X-Men: First Class filming thread: News, reports, images etc.

and if you hear great reviews ?

That means little at this point.

Bryan Singer's films got raves. And they were extremely well-done and beautifully-written. But despite that, I never felt they were truly X-Men films in terms of capturing the unadulterated spirit of the comics.

I don't give a flying fizzuk about this Tempest chick (with the wings of a house-fly for Christ's sake), Azazel's blue-ass, or Mystique's blue-ass being an X-Man...or any of these other nonsensical storylines that were barely fleshed out in either the 616 or Ultimate books. If I didn't cherish the stories on them in written comic form (and no one else did either) why the hell are we going to see a major motion picture featuring them?

Ugh, just give me the X-Men.

Strange, it's the opposite for me. It's not a question of good outweighing bad. I simply just have yet to hear anything bad. :/

Nah, he's looking gorgeous in the last pics I posted! :oldrazz:
But something seems wrong with the Xavier stills from the movie. Maybe the big reveal about Xavier's baldness is that he actually wore wigs in his younger years? :wow:

Well, to each his own. It pleases me to know that you're excited about the project. I hope one day to join you. Just not...today. :o

For me, it's down to the trailer to "move" me now. It's the trailer or nothing!!!!!!! :cmad:

It's an extremely bad toupee. It's like it's on backwards in the stills. Deplorable.

That's one thing that FOX's makeup department is notorious for: cheap-ASS wigs. Lord. :whatever:

You'll see the trailer when it premiers on June 2nd.

:')

Still hoping it hits before January is out. . .

Yeah, they are taking their sweet time with even releasing a teaser for this. Not a good sign IMO.

I didn't realize he was wearing a wig.

He was...the scene with Prof., Logan and Cyke was a reshoot. Jackman had already put on his extensions for Van Helsing so they couldn't style his hair. Hence the awful wig. ;)

I know THAT. That's painfully obvious.

I meant McAvoy.

I really like in terms of what I've seen. A rushed production and Fox are two things that never mix well throw that its the X-Men franchise along with that and prospects begin to look dimmer.

But I'm holding out faith on Vaughn and the cast to pull through and give us a good movie.

The costumes and poster looked good as well as the other promo shots. Magento's helmet.

That ****** photoshop of the team that Fox marketing accidently let out with good costumes but it had bad composition which is why it received such negative feedback.

Only time will tell but I'm keeping positive.

Oh. Okay, haha!
No, he's not wearing a wig, Lightining is seeing things! :oldrazz: Guess he means the hair styling, it doesn't look so good in some stills. Maybe it looks better in motion.

It's really.. really not. McAvoy's hair has been the same in almost every film he's been in.

This was this weekend:

This was back in September:

McAvoy just has some good hair and its slightly thinning near the roots in the front of his hairline.

But a lot of people have that with their hair actually.

This movie is really something difficult to evaluate just now: the storyline seems odd, the superhero costumes are, from what I've seen so far, bad.

But we have some great actors there, the period costumes look very nice and Vaughn has directed good movies.

Strykez is right: the trailer will show which side is gonna rule this already uneven flick.

To quote Storm "Well at least I've chosen a side"...

I don't know what it is about this movie, but I have this really weird blind confidence in it, right after the big first photo fiasco, I've become just grateful that we're gonna have a new X-Men movie, even though all I really have to back that up is great casting, great director, and the fact that Bryan Singer put his name on it. It's weird, but I'm actually happy that I'm not worrying about every single detail that comes out, I understand (and have read) every bit of frustration and anxiety, but for the very first time in a long time I just don't feel that way, needless to say if this movie sucks, they'll need to make an "X-Factor Investigations" movie to get me to see something from the X-Universe on the big screen again.

This movie feels like a live-action "X-Men Evolution". Which I guess is cool if you're into that.

I have absolutely no feel for this movie at all. I really haven't heard or seen anything that makes me go "hell yeah, can't wait", but nothing has really turned me off either. I guess I need to see this trailer.

Just seems so strange they went with the original time period...

But not the original (or even popular) characters.

Feels like they missed the point
