Days of Future Past X-Men Origins: First Class--Post Your Casting Choices Here

Emma Frost- Dianna Agron

Casting any actors from Glee would be totally :awesome: for me, and this choice would be absolutely perfect. Quinn already is an Emma-like character. Maybe add a fake British accent, and we're set. She's gorgeous enough.

I added Kellan Lutz to my cast list as Colussus

Well, with Hugh Jackman unlikely to be in, we need someone else to bring in the musical-ness to the movie. My solution? Zac Efron as Cyclops!! :D

I actually wouldn't mind that

I think Katherine Heigl would do alright as Emma Frost if you can get past her not pulling off her accent

It's so hard for me at this point to start really posting options for actors because I don't know how young of a school they are trying to enlist here. I mean, are we going for young adults a la the early Ultimate X-Men years? Or teeny-boppers like in Ororo's class in 2000's X-Men?

I will tell you this: if they are young like the latter idea I think my interest in this might be significantly diminished. Mutant Teens just doesn't appeal to me as much as young adults in the early 20's/college age.

This is the First Class film, not after they graduate, going to college class. They need to be high school age.

- Cyclops should be about 18.
- Jean Grey, 18.
- Storm, 14-16 years old (By the X-Men Origins: Wolverine film, she's about four years younger than Scott.
- Beast, 26-28 years old. He should be a teacher, one of Charles Xavier's friends. Never a student, and assists Erik and Charles in running the school.
- Xavier and Magneto should be about 40 when they start the school, but can be in the film as 30 year-olds as well. They were at least 40 in the flash back to Jean Grey's recruitment in X3: The Last Stand. And for Erik to be a believable Nazi Camp survivor, he can't be a 20something...
-Gambit, can be about 25, the age he is in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He can be like a new, older, wildcard student for the film.

The line up for the film should be:

Scott Summers/Cyclops
Jean Grey
Ororo Munroe/Storm
Remy LeBeau/Gambit
Hank McCoy/Beast

Villains can be one of two ways:

Have Magneto break away and take some students,
Toad
Scarlet Witch
Quicksilver
Avalanche
Mystique

And form the Brotherhood that would fight the X-men in the end/or

Have Mr. Sinister as the villain, include one or two of those Brother hood mutants in the X-men, and have Magneto leave Xavier at the end of the film and take his mutants with him.

Keke Palmer should be the #1 choice for Storm she is also 16 so the perfect age range as well.

Good call on Storm's age... "For six years... I was here... until you show up and the next day she's dead." So if that Storm cameo counted in Origins and that girl was probably 7 or 8... whatever, that would make her 14-15. Cyclops was a few years older. Storm doesn't even have to show up.

^ and storm was'nt in theatrical cut so we can ignore that all together

If Storm will appear in the movie, I vote for Zoe Saldana.

You guys are also neglecting the fact that Emma Frost was played by Tahyna Tozzi in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and she's 23...meaning the character in the X-Movieverse is not Signourney Weaver's age.

We have a mythology we have to stick to.

- Cyclops will not be played by Scott Porter. He's far too old.

- Storm will not be played by a 28 year old.

- Emma Frost won't be played by a 50 year old.

- Hank McCoy will not be CGI, or Blue or played by a young kid. He was seen in X2: X-Men United as a NONblue, untransformed doctor. He'll likely appear as he did in his original appearances and they may hint at the fact that he could transform.

- Colossus will not be in the film. He was a cameo in X-Men and X2: X-Men United. He wasn't a full team member until X3: The Last Stand. There is no way he was a full team member, then stopped being on the team, while staying at the school and then re-became a first time team member.

-Nightcrawler won't be in the film.

-Bolivar Trask was in X3: The Last Stand, so Sentinels will be tough.

- There will have to be exploration into Xavier's sessions with Jean Grey, caging the Phoenix.

-Gambit would have to be AT LEAST as old as he appeared in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

- Banshee would have to be a teenager, he's seen in Wolverine as is Quicksilver.

A lot of these castings, like Ashley Green (so hot and PERFECT FOR JEAN GREY) would be amazing if this was a X4 or a reboot of X-Men, but it's not. It's a young X-Men of sorts.

Patrick Wilson for Beast is, however, a great choice.

Samuel Guthrie/Cannonball= Jeremy Sumpter (I just think his power is cool and I like the idea that Mad Ones had about him being the prankster Iceman wasnt in the first 3 films)

i prefer keke palmer she is the right age and the better actress imo

I see this film more as a reboot rather than an origins film so I don't see why people shouldn't add their suggestions regardless of previous canon. To me "X-men Origins" is just a name. Singer did say he was inspired by the last Star Trek film after all.

But she was born in 93 which is a good age and about the actual age of First Class but with Tim Pocock being like 25 and the girl playing Emma being 23 it would be really weird seeing her try to play the same age as actors that look alot more mature than her.
If they dont use the 2 actors from XMOW and they actually cast high school age actors then Palmer would be fine same with Haley Ramm

Eh a ST-esque reboot actually confuses me because ST was a reboot and sequel at the same time. I dont know how they would do that with this.
I'll be surprised if its a clean reboot since the Wolverine series is still going and thats set in the old continuity. But then again their rebooting Deadpool

Wasn't Spike in "X-Men 3" as a bad guy? Didn't Wolverine fight him in the forest? And I believe they changed his nationality too? Course that's the Rat's fault.

For me, it's all about how old the actors look. Tim Pocock might be 25, but he can pull off a sixteen year old. I wouldn't consider the ages of actors too much, as long as they can pull off looking the right age. Look at Glee: it has 27 year olds playing high schoolers, and works fine.

i agree JGL can still play a teenager convincingly and he is in late 20's

Oh yeah. But I just figured it wasnt really the character just a mutant with the same powers

Yeah thats what they do in most movies, but if you do that its hard to get actors who actually are the characters age and have them act along side the older actors when there supposed to be the same age espescially if the younger actor doesnt even seem that grown

He can pull off maybe an early 20s person but not a 16 year old

if they cast Tahyna Tozzi again i hope they make her look better

she has will smith ears lol but i have seen pictures where she looks gorgeous

Singer never said that the film was a reboot like Star Trek, the the author from Variety said that, he drew a conclusion.

Singer said that he can make a film compelling even if we know that the destination of these characters is X-Men (2000) because like the characters in Batman, Superman and Star Trek, if the characters are good, you'll want to see the destination.....he never said that it was a reboot.

X-Men Origins is not just a name. It is part of the same mythology. Are you forgetting the characters? The same actors in the roles? The fact that they went back and told the story of Stryker and Logan? This is all stuff that was referenced in the trilogy. It is not a reboot. Saying that it is, is about as ignorant as when people said that Batman Begins was a prequel to Batman (1989).
