Days of Future Past X-Men Origins: First Class--Post Your Casting Choices Here

I also think that the assumption that Xavier and Magneto will be 20 something when they form the X-men is not correct at all. How can they be 20 something if Cyclops is the first student? Cyclops' powers will manifest around high school and then he'll be taken in. For the age difference to stay consistent between him and Xavier, Xavier will have to be 25-30 years older than Scott. Assuming Charles is in his late 50's/early 60s in X-Men then he'd have to be in his early 40's in First Class when the team is formed.....could there be flashbacks to he and Magneto as younger men, yes. But does it make sense for the school to be formed when they are that young....no.

Plus Magneto was about 12 or so in 1945, per the openning scene in X-Men... To make him in his 20s would place the origin of the school in the 1960s. If they go with A 1990s origin (as a prequel, or sorts, to the first film) then Magneto would have to be in his 60s.

Yes, obviously Xavier will have to be older than 20 to meet Scott, haha.

the film will show the relationship of Xavier and Erik since the beggining until the creation of the school, so it will mean more than 10 years, the movie will have to show what happens during all that time.

First Class should be

Professor X
Cyclops
Jean
Storm
Beast
Banshee
Emma

Moira
Forge

My cast of characters is:

X-men:

Leaders- Charles Xavier
& Erik Lensherr

First recruits: Scott Summers for Charles Xavier
Raven Darkholme is already with Erik at the formation of the school.

Other X-Men:

Jean Grey- Recruited in X3: The Last Stand
Mortimer Toynbee/Toad- Saved from Weapon X facility
Ororo Munroe/Storm
Hank McCoy/Beast- Older already a long time friend of Xavier's, more of a teacher
Dominikos Petrakis/Avalanche
Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver- Saved from Weapon X facility
Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch- Recruited by Erik for unknown reasons
Emma Frost- Saved from Weapon X Facility

That's ten mutant students. After the Xavier/Magneto split:
Mystique
Toad
Avalanche
Quicksilver
Scarlet Witch go off with Magneto leaving,

Cyclops
Jean Grey
Storm
Beast
Emma Frost as the first true X-Men.

The main villain could be done with Sinister, or Trask, I haven't decided yet.

my hope Is it will go like this:

School heads:Xavier,magneto

Teacher:Mystique

Students:Cyclops,Jean grey,beast,Storm,Emma Frost,Banshee

Villians:a anti mutant group

Mystique and emma frost leave with magneto when he falls out with Xavier.
I would like a Cyclops Jean emma triangle. And Emma chooses to go with
Magneto after It's clear Cyclops loves jean.

Assuming they don't use CGI trickry to try to use patrick Stewart and Ian
Mckellan I would go with Michael Rosenbaum as Xavier and James marsters
as Magneto.

Keep the actors for Cyclops and Emma from Wolverine but have Emma
dress more sexy.

Kay Panabaker(with red wig) as Jean.

I don't think Rosenbaum would be a good Prof X at all. He'd be bald which means the majority of people are going to see Lex Luthor

a couple of names I was consider for a young Xavier were....

Mark Feuerstein

or Sam Jaeger

(though, both still kinda young only being in they 30s, but, if they are showing them at various stages in they life, they might have more range, and they age them up with make up and stuff, for later scenes)

also, I heard someone mention the idea of, Patrick Wilson, in the role the other day, I think that could definitely work too (if they could get him)

I think, like the comics, there should only be 5 students, with Scott, Jean, Storm and pre-fur Beast taking the 4 spots. This way every character would be given the right amount of screentime.

Maybe have a 5th student, human-looking Raven Darkholme. She would be a shapeshifter and have her reveal her true blue form at the end and have her defect to Erik's side.

It would be kind of interesting if there is a girl named Raven present throughout the film until the end when Magneto convinces her that she doesn't have to try to hide her true form anymore. Then she shapeshifts to Mystique and the audience goes "Holy crap! It's that blue chick!"

I was kinda thinking something along those line too, if Mystique was in it

It'll be interesting to see if they put Emma and Mystique in the same movie. Some people might think their personalities are too similar. After all they deceided not to put Gambit in the X-franchise for the first few movies because he was too similar to Wolverine (which is weird reasoning but ok, whatever.)

I don't think Emma and Mystique are that similar, but then again I don't get how Gambit and Wolverine are similar either.

I would be fine if Mystique was just a cameo or a small role. Emma only had a cameo in one film so if it's a choice between the two I think Emma needs the spotlight more.

Regarding the Gambit/Wolverine thing, it's just due to their respective popularities. Keeping the potential of Gambit appearing in a future movie keeps his fans hooked and at bay. Not giving him enough time in a movie would just annoy said fans. In other words, the movie faces less whining from Gambit fans if he's not in the movie vs not being awesome enough in the movie he appears in.

Wait... I guess I'm the only one who feels this is EXACTLY what happened in X-Men Origins: Wolverine??? I mean... he was alright, but I, being a Gambit STAN, expected more myself. I'd just as easily been happy with that Gambit not in the film, but that's just ME.

I also love how Lauren Shuler Donner said in interviews when the X-Men trilogy was their bread-and-butter, that they didn't want to put Gambit and Wolverine in the same movie because their personalities were "too similar," yet they go and put him in the Wolverine movie!? You know why??? Cuz they wanted to sucker in all us Gambit fans to help carry that movie. #FACT

I think the stuff about Gambit and Wolverine being similar is probably nonsense, especially considering I keep hearing they were planning to put Gambit in both X2 and X3 until circumstances changed that they decided against it both times for different reasons. And then of course they made Gambit a side kick to Wolverine in his own spin off movie. That's obviously what you do when you worry two characters are too similar to each other. Make the other character show up in the first character's spin off.

I don't think there's anyone more perfect to play the role of Young Jean Grey than Deborah Ann Woll from True Blood.

She is just gorgeous. :wow:

Oh, I'm so thrilled to have my Jeany back.

Good choice. I like the idea of Jean being just a little bit weird and unconventional. I've always thought she was kind of out there even before she y'know, ate a sun etc (as the Phoenix)

And if I'm going to steal other actresses from True Blood, I'd love Rutina Wesley as Young Storm.

Is anyone else concerned that since Bryan is known for not exactly having a deep love for the Storm character that he might take this opportunity to get rid of her altogether? That has been bothering me a bit.

I thought of that. I'm hoping that's not the same. I really want to see STORM in a movie, finally.

I think he only really had a problem with Halle Berry.

Yea, Singer only had a problem with Halle Berry. But to Halle's defense, she only clashed with Singer because she felt that Storm wasn't getting the appropriate character development during the first two movies, which was 100% the truth.
