these special effects are pretty damn sick. i think the visuals in this film are going to be some of the best MCU has done.

I can't tell either. And like you said, if you can't tell, why does it matter?I can understand the need to make the articulating arms on his back CGI from time to time just as any moving part on the Iron Man armor will require it to be CGI. But who says the rest of him in those shots is CGI? I can't tell. And frankly, if one can't tell then who cares anyway?
I like the Yellowjacket suit in the comics, but this looks way more villainous.

Hint: it doesn't.
^Well then by definition you'd be able to tell so the point would be moot anyway. And I don't mean able to tell in the sense that because someone works in SFX they have an expert eye for this kinda thing and that's how they can tell. Fooling the casual viewer such as myself is all I ask them to do. Beyond that, I don't care.
I wonder if he actually survives this movie that he might return later in his more comics accurate Crossfire identity. That'd be cool to see.
Well, I'm not an SFX expert but I can tell that he's entirely CGI in both of those shots, so the point isn't moot to me.
It's not that I'm anti-CGI, but it does bother me when a character is rendered in complete CGI at points that seem unnecessary, like when they are standing still and not performing action. There were moments like that in a few of the Spider-man and Iron Man movies.
I'm a sucker for the artistry of practical costuming, I guess.

I remember Harvey Keitel was Wolverine.
