I'm not opposed to Mohawk Storm it's is iconic either way I couldn't care less about Storm's hair aslong as it is white. Although arguably the most iconic "film" Storm would be the X3 grey streak wig. Aesthetically if they are going to do the Mohawk then this film has the ideal era I will not be too fussed. :p

How about Jean's hair she pretty much had a crew cut in the 80's comics. i would personally love to see a Jean with Farrah hair rocking gold and green spandex, the film could be very visually interesting especially since we have seen Magneto rock a more stylised costume and Wolverine has been introduced to Blue and Yellow.

^ I'm still against the mohawk for a 16 year old Storm.

In some ways I felt that the Days of Future Past Storm's hair style was kind of a nod to the mohawk:

Yes, it's not a true "mohawk", but it was the closet thing that we've seen out of all incarnations of Storm in the movies to that type of look...

I very much agree with anthony1111 that the longer hair on Storm looks very good on screen, especially when she is flying and radiating power (wind, lightning, etc.):

In many ways I would much rather see her as a street thief in Cairo at this point:

over the African Goddess thing.

My worry is that, from a Director's point of view, although the street theif in Egypt might be better story wise, the African Goddess would look really good on screen, and he might go for look over story.

If they go for the African Goddess thing then maybe something like this:

At the same time, maybe two movies down the road, say in 6 years or something, I wouldn't mind the rebellious, mohawk Storm, something like this:

Realized it's mid-January.

So many people have complained about contunity of X-Men films now with time travel they have pretty much left with FC,DOFP and pre 1973 parts of origins and the wolverine if you want to count those 2.Yet some want to totally disregard the future ending of DOFP.

With the exception of Sophie Turner i haven't seen any of these actors Inless you count the cyclops candiate in kingsman trailer.

Sophie Turner i support as Jean is she's actully red head and could be bought as younger version of Jean that Famke Janssen was seen as at end of DOFP.

Jean doesn't need a perfect american accent. However Cyclops does.Let's remember Nicholas Hoult has different accent in real life than he plays as beast so I am not worried.

With storm actresses under consideration seem like If you put white wigs on them they can be bought as younger version of Storm that Halle Berry played at end of DOFP.

It's easy for some to bash fox saying they care only for looks over talent.I will trust Bryan Singer who directed X-Men,X2,and Days of future Past to supervise casting.
My comment was in regards to Storm not the other characters because for the most part Singer has done great with the other characters. Also you can't just throw a white wig on someone and say she can do the part that's why we have what we have currently, they need to hire someone who can encompass Storm, I wouldn't even mind a rebellious Storm along the ultimate line I think that would be awesome.

Yes! Jean with the Farrah type hairstyle would be everything. Let's hope we get the gold and green in some way on Jean.

Looking at McAvoy, Fassbender, Lawrence, Dinklage and now Oscar Isaac, I can't agree that Fox have been picking actors based on their look over their talent.

I think they could have found another actress for Raven. Lawrence still hasent been right for the role, IMO. They're lucky that she's so popular.
As the Jean casting, they seem to have been going the same way-Chloe Moretz is popular right now and so is Sophie because of GOT. So atleast for the casting of women I dont think they are going with the best talent that they can find.
Storm is another deal all together, i honestly think they dont care about the character. Im not looking for Singer's X-men films to give Storm the proper due. (JMO)

Storm is kind of a hard character to cast. The thing is, she's not 100% African looking nor is she really biracial, so you can't just find a random black chick that looks "African" or just "black." She has a very unique facial structure, although some artists tend to not always get that.

if it's between "African looking" or biracial-looking (since its tough to find someone who is both), I'd prefer African
I still say, to this day, that if Singer had a fully functioning brain, he would've cast Angela Bassett, she's got that perfect mix imo

overall, these casting rumors do nothing for me.
There are very few teenage actors with any sort of real talent
And revisiting the same couple kids over and over for superhero movies (Moretz, them Fanning chicks, Ronan(although Ronan's age is ok)) isn't a solution

They should go for younger 20's as the minimum cutoff
no teens thanks, I don't even like most comics with teenagers

If you wanna get 100% comic book accurate, you'd go with like a half black and half asian chick that's like pretty dark skinned.

She turned it town. This is common knowledge.

^^ well that is very sad

Singer's casting has been very hit or miss on the x-films, but I guess I'll add one to the hit column

also, I have no idea what that gif is about, lol

It seemed to fit.

But yeah, Basset didn't want to star in a cbm... only to take the Green Lantern role a decade later. :(

haha yeah, she got to kick herself twice

The older you get, the more you're like, "**** it." All these thespians from back in the day doing more wacky stuff as they get older.

That would be a nice mix to see on the big screen as an adaptation for Storm but they need to give her the blue eyes with it. That's a interesting idea but that's not dark skinned, not sure we're you got that from

Well, it varies according to the artist. I know Cockrum used to draw her kinda lighter, but they like made her darker over the years.

What? I know the writers vary how they draw her but your comment read like if they have her as half Asian and Black that would make her dark skinned which dosent make sense.

I was just saying from an aesthetic standpoint that's how she looks in some of the books, that's all. Not that that is her racial background.

Naomi Campbell...? haha

If only she could act and was younger, she has that fierceness and I love her look. I feel she could bring the side to Storm that I would love to see onscreen if only lol.
