Apocalypse Young Cyclops/Jean/Storm? Casting Ideas - Part 1

If they aren't looking for 30 year olds to play Cyke and Jean why would they cast one to play Storm? I'm thinking around 23 would be the cut off age. I'm 30 so don't get me wrong I'm not saying 30 is old I just think it's too old for this role.

I watched every episode of How to Get Away With Murder and I just don't see movie teen with her.

I'm warming up to Zendaya. I didn't know about her previously. She looks edgy and seems to have a lot of spunk. Maybe in the movie she can get a tan or get some makeup on to accentuate her african features.

Then why cast her if you're just going to put makeup on her to look darker? They did the same to Zoe Saldana in the Nina Simone biopic and they got so much flack for it, deservedly so. There are other darker-skinned African-American actresses in that case.

That is completely absurd, why hire her then change up her features instead of finding someone who has those features. I mean Storm isn't an alien so they shouldn't be changing the appearance of her except the white hair and blue eyes.

Yeah, but at least Zoe is already brown skinned. Putting darker make up on someone so yellow / light skinned like Zendaya would look immediately obviously.

I think with the right styling and directing, Shipp could actually pull off a young Storm. As per usual, a lot of it comes from the script though. I still believe that Halle could have been an amazing Storm, if they would've let her, but that is another talk for another time.

Hopefully they go with Storm's punk biker/Mohawk look in this movie. Come on, it's set in the 80's. There's no more perfect time to do that look. And as she ages/acquires experience, she becomes more "regal."

Made sense from what I can remember. Don't think it was a random choice, was more for expressive reasons.

The times I've seen her have it, had to do with her going off the edge a bit and being more of a wild card personality wise.

Storm is 16. I don't want to her be introduced with that hair, but I would love if it were worked into whatever her storyline is. It would be a cool "mutant and proud" moment for her to shave her head before the third act.

If she's more on the thief side of things I guess it could work. Could be more of a tribal type thing too.

Doesn't need to be there though, probably should depend more on what the actress looks like with it. Doubt it would ever be to the extreme of the comics.
