Apocalypse Young Cyclops/Jean/Storm? Casting Ideas - Part 2

Sokay, baby. I kept the thread warm for you.

You know, Fox's marketing is getting a little too predictable. Someone else announces some comic related news, Fox jumps in later to try and steal some of the spotlight. Just funny.

Sheridan was particularly great in Joe.

I'll watch that tomorrow.

Very pleasing news. Sophie Turner was always my top pick for young Jean; she's great on GoT. I don't know much about the others, but they certainly look the part.

Yeah, possibly. With so much focus on "the big 3," everyone's been overlooking the Brotherhood side of things.

What's fun is that now that Apocalypse and the main 3 are cast, we legitimately have no clue what else to expect. . .

Exactly!

Has to be more students at this point.

I'm guessing we will get at least one of the following: Scarlet Witch, Polaris, Cable or Angel.

I'm pretty hopeful that she'll show up. Kinberg said they were going to explore Magneto's legacy and also this:

It’s a character we all love, because everyone loves Quicksilver so much. The more we can do to explore his family, the better. So maybe.

:D

I would die if we got Polaris, that would be too awesome. Kinda hoping we would have gotten Nightcrawler with the big three as well.

But yea, if I had to bet on any character announcement coming soon it would be Scarlet Witch. She'd make the most sense with Quicksilver coming back and Magneto needing a new Brotherhood.

She would be a good rival for Jean. More so then Polaris. That's the only upper hand I see with her as of now.

Wanda is more the wild card and potentially one of the most dangerous. But this all depends on why they would want use her and how much time she would get imo. Polaris makes more sense to me for set up in this franchise. Stronger ties to the X-Men teams. The family connection and protective bond (which is important) can really be used for either and not just Wanda for the film universe.

I don't know any of the folks cast. I saw a little of Drumline and Shipp was just ok, but then the movie was garbage with garbage direction. I need to see her talent with a credible director. I do feel that Singer didnt put much effort in casting Storm except for getting a young actress that is similar in features with Berry. Shipp is better then Zendaya but i still feel Storm is again going to be nothing and there for fx.

Ive honestly at this point have given up any hope of Fox doing a proper Xmen film. As long as fox has the rites these movies will continue to be mediocre. Another xfilm with Wolverine dead center and Magneto on board again as well as Mystique. Give them guys a break. Let the xmen go at Apocalypse and his horsemen. Putting Fassbender and Lawrence in just lessens screen time and development for Jean Scott and Storm. It is what it is.

You don't know what roles any of them will have in this.

And DOFP was anything but mediocre. :o

Interesting picks. Only really aware of Turner's work in GOT so far, she looks the part so hopefully Singer can get the performance from her. Mind you it depends how much screen time these three actually get, they may not have huge amounts, we shall see.

As for the other two will have to trust Singers judgement, he gets it right more often than not and X-men has been heading in the right direction since First Class so here'e to hoping the upward trend continues.

Kinberg said the First Class trilogy was always meant to center on Erik and Charles vying for the soul of their beloved Raven. Those three have the strongest character arcs; and X-Men Apocalypse is the conclusion of their story.

Purists might as well sit this one out,
but they won't. :cwink:

So true. DoFP is my favorite comic book film. I'm not expecting Apocalypse to equal or surpass it, but I'll be very happy if it does. I just want a nice conclusion to the trilogy. Beyond that, I don't know.

And even if these three have smaller roles than Xavier/Erik/Mystique, it doesn't mean they'll be practically non-existent like Warpath/Sunspot/etc. were in DOFP.

Yeah, I think it'll be an ensemble piece like DoFP. Charles, Magneto, Raven, Jean, Scott and Storm -- these characters in particular will all share equal screen time, but the former three will likely have the strongest or more compelling story arcs.
