WTF! What a dumbass indeed. What a major cop-out! Gough's answer is a major disrespect to the people who have watched Smallville all these years. With answer like that, Smallville should be cancelled.A letter should be sent to CW and Gough for this dismal and uncreative response.
...At least KBX had a logical explanation for Superman's identity.
My thoughts exactly. Alfred Gough has no business being in the business whatsoever especially if he has the guts to make a statement like that. He's basically wasted six years plus of our lives on teen drama and taken away the point most of comics fans have been watching.
Apparently, teen drama is fine and filling in some of the blanks works but for him forget the rest of the work. Let's jump ahead a few years and not even clear up things and our problem is solved.
Sheesh, I'm truly ashamed at the WB and DC now for letting someone like this stay on as an Executive Producer and I'm a fan as much as everyone else here.
Still what a total slap in the face to the Superman and comics fans.
Is he saying that he doesn't give a damn about the SV universe he contributed to "create" and he doesn't care about the crucial unanswered questions he leaves behind, once the show is over and the money stops pouring in?
He could have given many answers to that question and I think he chose the worst one. IMO.
Yes indeed, that's the statement he's giving. He doesn't give a damn about the series at all.
Honestly over the last six years, this man has lied through his teeth more times than he can count and he's kept the show going at the studio request. It's all about the paycheck for him.
I'm sorry but as an Executive Producer who hasn't written a single episode for almost three years, that's the worst thing to say and it's proof of exactly how much consideration he's putting into the show. Especially if you're in front of an audience of fans.
It's not about the worst choices of wording here. He said what he said and that's showing how he feels about this series, which falls back upon the constant contradictions and changes in statements that he makes constantly.
Pretty much..
He'll get his paycheck from the Supergirl spinoff then; tis all he cares about.
Yep, statement says it all.
I'm finished babbling.
Looks like I'm picking and choosing and writing my own fan fiction ending for the series, when the day comes.
