Zack Snyder Directing Justice League - Part 1

As one of BvS's harshest critics, I have to say that I have seen the Ultimate Edition now and there's no denying its a substantial improvement over the theatrical version.

I am now willing to admit that some of the blame does not lie with Snyder.

I hope the script for Justice League was locked down and TIGHT. There should be no deleted scenes. The fact that Suicide Squad and BvS were such long films with so much removed is why they were bad films.

Hopefully Snyder has also increased his understanding of the characters.

No turning back now, I guess.

Lets hope Snyder brings to this what I thought he was bringing to BvS.

I agree with you that having so many deleted scenes means that something is not right, they should have a script which allows them to tell a coherent story within the runtime Studios wants. With minimum number of deleted scenes (you cannot avoid them completely.)

A runtime which had initially been approved and it was only late in the game did they decide they wanted it shorter.

What people tend to forget is when cutting the movie the WB told Snyder to make this more of a Batman movie. So if you had to cut the movie and make this more of a Batman movie then all the Superman parts had to go plain and simple and that's what happened.

Just out of curiosity, and I'm asking this in all honesty and not trying to start anything, but what would be the point where you would abandon ship from Snyder?

Remember when Zack said he was working on a secret project with Geoff Johns?And Roven said they couldnt announce the next Superman sequel because Supes died in BvS ?Now we have also learnt how a MOS2 is in active development.So I was thinking just like Nolan and Goyer wrote the story for MOS and gave the directing reign to Snyder,maybe Snyder and Geoff Johns are developing a story for Superman and have someone else direct it.

Long story short,I think Zack and Geoff are working on MOS 2.

Yeah I agree but I think Shazam too is a go because of the Rock and that movie being under New Line but the rest I agree with.

Cyborg I think is very much a "wait and see" project for WB, I don't think they've ruled it out completely but they probably want to see how audiences react to him in JL and the Flash solo if he is really in it. Green Lantern we know how much of a GL fanboy Johns is but at this point it could be still viewed as Box Office poison.

But yeah I expect the slate to change substantially after Justice League. We know for sure Batman, MoS2 and probably Harley solo are coming and I think WB would be crazy to not at least consider a Suicide Squad sequel with it poised to cross $300mil domestically, some of these will probably slot into the existing dates from 2019 onwards.

New Line is making Shazam, sounds like they are taking their sweet time with it based on everything thats come out about it.

i dont recall seeing anything about a move to WB. Articles came out about a week or so ago saying it was still going to be connected to the DCEU but its being made by New Line Cinema. Technically still WB since NL is a division of WB.

I'm not. Stepping down now, before JLA even comes out, would be too much an admission of error. He was locked in as remaining director the moment JLA started filming before BvS finished its run.

After Justice League, *then* you can frame it as "no, he's just done all the movies he wanted to do in the franchise", and shuffle him out.
