So I got an early draft of his potential next film The Last Photograph. I only read about 40 pages or so. A very-very dark film. Revenge film set in Afghanistan.

Brief spoiler premise:

War photographer is witness and becomes the only survivor of a huge massacre, and a former ops officer finds him and then hires him to take revenge on the men responsible. Both of them travel make their way through hellish towns in the middle east.

I really like the script so far.

I immediately had Affleck play one of the roles as i was reading. He fits the character. Damn. That character has his own Brando apocalypse now type of monologue in one bloody scene.

Bale and Penn were both attached. Anyway, I can see a lot of hate for this from certain sides tho. Basically two white dudes killing a bunch of bad brown arab/muslim ppl, ya know? Real violent too. I did lol with Zack's musical cues with one of them shoots up heroin, clear shot of the veins and all. Babel and Sicario=The Last Photograph

SNOW STEAM IRON was amazing. Its brilliant how he told the story with no dialogue, just 4mins worth of visual storytelling. It looked criminally good, and I was floored when I heard he shot it with an iPhone. This looked better than most multi million dollar movies with expensive equipment.

Very excited for what he does next.

Sounds like Snyder's not coming back to do any finishing touches.

That saddens me a little, honestly; I would never expect Zack to be the kinda guy to be over Joss' shoulders telling him how to do something, but at least I hoped he'd pop-up to give his "seal of approval" and whatever minuscule notes he might have had before the product is released...but oh well, guy's gotta do what's best for him and I'm glad that it seems like he's in a good place right now.

Hopefully the movie still looks and feels like a Zack Snyder movie.

Directors do special screenings for Executive Producers and other staff members at various stages of movie's production, and since Snyder is also one of the Producers in this movie he has obviously seen the movie.

All the media bs about disney paying off critics is nothing but fanboy nonsense. But one must be blind to not see the hate he does receive for no goddamn reason.
