10.3 - Supergirl - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

Nice. But it's not confirmed that it's gonna be the third episode.

I thought it was unkown which episode this episode titile will be on? When was it confirmed that it was the third episode?

What's sad is the first reference to Super.... is Supergirl and not Superman. :(

^ I don't know surely TPTB are smart enough to realize that you don't name/suit up (just a guess because why else the name) Kara as Supergirl before Clark becomes Superman!

Just when I get past the whole flying before Clark thing, now this....I will wait for more info though.

Best case scenario: This is after episode 200, which ends up being titled "Superman".

I can dream, can't I?

If this episode is named Supergirl & Kara is not in the suit that will suck

some are reading way too much into this episode title. Just because it's called "Supergirl" doesnt mean she's going to end it dressed like the Maid of Might. Krypto wasnt dflying around in a red cape when his episode ended. :)

#1 - This isn't confirmed to be the third episode...I mean seriously, doesn't anyone read anymore?

#2 - I am very happy to have Kara come back.

#3 - Who cares if they title the episode or call her Supergirl by the end of the episode? There are more important things to worry about.

Its not like Smallville fans ever know the name of the episode once watching it on television. They could name is "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" and it wouldn't matter.

You should see how idiots at k-site go nuts about the title.

Now I'm sad....I want an episode titled that.

I vote this to be the title of the series finale. :D

Hell Yeah! Supergirl is what got me to watch the series in the first place

HA! Well know since "Supergirl" is one of the most straight to the point episode titles we ever had, it may be safe to say "Superman" is the series finale.

Whenever just an episode title is revealed and no other information, I've seen people post definitions from the dictionary so they could analyze what the episode will be about. Smallville isn't that smart that they will have some cryptic meaning in the episode title. This is the show that titled their first red kryptonite episode..."Red".

Some of the titles aren't as straight forward as others and they're worth looking up to see if they have multiple meanings and if they can be connected to something/someone from the comics since not everyone's familiar with them.

I'm very excited to see Kara come back for the season's final season. I love the kindred scenes that she shared with Clark.

One...tiny....thought....to speculate: what-if the season starts having Clark getting rid of "the Blur" name and adopts "Superman"? Thus, when Kara comes in, she follows suite and calls herself Supergirl in relation to that. And the episode is about what that means to her, and being influenced by her cousin.

I'm just saying!

Also, if that were to happen, it wouldn't go against te original vision. I see it as the final steps taking place for him; he has the suit (we strongly believe so), he has an actual name, now its just the preparation for his long awaited debut. And of course, the same for the coming of Darkseid.

That's what I've been hoping for. I just dont know if the producers have the balls to go through with it.

Anyone else think that they might follow the 2nd arc from the Batman/Superman comic series and have her come to Earth as a villain...brainwashed by Darkseid?

Leading to a showdown between her and Clark.

Since he seems to be the big baddie this season, it could work.

My money is still on a "Death to Supergirl" storyline. I personally think Kara's gonna sacrifice herself to save Clark similar to Crisis on Infinite Earths #7.

When the exact same story is coming out a month before on DVD? I hope not.

Hell no. Smallville just couldn't do the epicness of that.

The story has been out for a few years now, right?

Well, Smallville could do the mimicry of the pose in Crisis on Infinite Earths #7, but they really couldn't come close to the epicness of the anti-monitor's fight with Supergirl.

That's just not possible with their budget. Not to mention Clark wouldn't last a microsecond against him.
And yeah, I doubt they're going to do the Supergirl gets brainwashed by Darkseid.
Because of that movie that would have just come out.

Then agian, Smallville does lack creativity sometimes. They need to get the Smallville's fan community's version of Mellisa Good.
She was a Xena fanfiction writer who was contacted and made the writer for a few episodes during the final season.
Those episodes were widely regarded as good(tm)
