The Dark Knight 12 Film Clips for The Dark Knight on iesb.net

Ive only allowed myself to watch the sixth clip and Im kind of underwhelmed at the fight sequence. Too slow for my taste. I was hoping it'd be more like Batman's fight with Ra's ninjas in the Narrows except edited better.

Isnt Batman supposed to get into it with a couple of cops? Hopefully that'll be better.

I'm with you man. It seemed a little slow to me but that's just because I enjoyed the quick fight editing in Batman Begins. Put me in a theater though, and it will probably be a different story.

I too have resisted! :hehe:

I love reading the comments though! :applaud

I just know they'll be better in context, since that's how I am with Nolan films. :yay:

Hehe, I've avoided them as well Anita. To mimic Jerry Seinfeld's "I choose not to run!" ...

I choose not to watch! LOL :woot:

It's really testing my will power, but I know it will be for the best. As you said though, reading the reactions is quite entertaining, and is giving me an idea of how sick the footage is.

Two things. Saw the clip of joker and the chechen, wow joker comes off as not just a psychopath but also a real gangster even whiping his gun around. He's like a clown version of tony montana I love it. he's really intimidating.

I also watched the break in clip and yes it seems kinda slow the choreography looks good but it looks almost like the guys are waiting to get hit. The last one(I think is lau) even drops before batman hits him with that rifle. However i prefer this to the headache inducing quick cut fights of BB.

I think they might speed up the fight sequence in the "break in" clip or cut in a couple different shots to make it look faster.

^^^ i like the fight scene, i rather have that then a bunch of flips and cartwheels.

all the clips are clearly edited down somewhat, except for the one about Harvey getting shot at. As far as I can tell.

In the clip with Gordon, Dent, and Bats on the rooftop, could anyone else hear Oldman's accent slipping majorly while he was yelling?

The clips for TDK deffinetely have that Heat feeling. That epic crime drama type of feeling and I like how this movie is more about the citizens of gotham

Wow, definitely more at home in the role. That short clip already showed more genuine character than anything in Begins

YES! It's like night and day... WOW

the burning money scene just cements ledger as joker incarnate. i love how he says "sending a message.." like an upset teenager, like everyone just doesnt get his plan..OH MY GOD I WANT THIS MOVIE OUT NOW.

I LOVE that interpretation !!!

...Not going to watch these. Very difficult.

You don't know what you're missing! :woot:

im just so glad that jonah nolan wrote this one. its like an entirely different film, dialogue wise. it's still heightened, but not like...ridiculously so, a la begins.

MAD PROPS to Jonah... it is like a whole other film when it comes to dialogue. OMG it's actually smart, AND occasionally the jokes are actually funny! Go figure! It can be done! Lol. :oldrazz:

I guess that might not be the finished product

but yeah, its was heard

Hopefully the accent issue will be cleaned up in post by the time it hits theaters.

These answer the only possible concern I had, Eckhart. I was worried that he didn't have the chops, but those worries are gone, he delivers.

How could you be worried!? Haven't you seen him act before? He's got skills :yay:

Actually that was the only thing I wasn't impressed with. Seemed too slow for me. Much more used to the fast & brutal hits that Jason Bourne has shown us.

True. But WOW what a difference not doing crazy fast-cutting makes. I could actually SEE the fight choreography and it made a WORLD of difference. SO HAPPY!!!!!!

And now for my own comments...

"it was a big dog..." - Batman defending his injuries was HILARIOUS. The banter with Alfred was AWESOME. "That's not what I meant by inspire..." etc.

"I'm gonna tell them the whole thing was YOUR idea..."

Wow, a joke that actually FIT and made me LAUGH. Color me surprised and very, very pleased!

I loved how when Rachel said the word "Natasha" what she was really saying was looking at Bruce Wayne and going "You f***er!" LOL.

And just because I like ballet, I have to make a comment... there is not a single prima ballerina in the world with C/D cups. Sorry, that just does not work. Now I know the movie isn't real :cwink::woot:

I LOVED the putting the tables together scene, just a classic, alfa-male dog fight scene, with Bruce taking the opportunity to sort of p*ss on Dent while he can... there is something really comical about Bruce Wayne feeling both threatened and using his power to play these silly games with others, it was an awesome bit of acting. :woot: Nothing is cooler than CB doing "playboy" or "@$$hole" Wayne. You just can't top it...

Alright I also have to say in clip 4, the rooftop thing, the spinning camera just made me dizzy and was distracting. Whats up with that?

I really loved how Fox's stupid joke sounded a lot better in context when he says "now that's more like it." He takes a pause and seems to be living vicariously through young Bruce's exploits. A great character moment.

And last but not least, on the break in scene, omg I could actually SEE him FIGHTING. SO MUCH FREAKN BETTER!!! Can't say that enough!!

i liked the spinning cam...

Me too - thinking about that in context, it can probably be attributed to the increasing tension between Gordon and Dent during that conversation - only stopping when Dent gives Bats his turn to talk.

WHY DON'T WE CUT YOU UP AND FEED YOU TOO YOUR POOCHIES AND THEN WELL SEE HOW LOYAL A HUGARY DOG REALLY IS!!!

HEATH RULES :hoboj:

I actually found it humorous when you see this intense pan-around with Dent and Gordon arguing, with Batman just....standing there. I could almost picture him just patiently waiting to get his line in, or just anxiously waiting for them to shut the hell up. :funny:

Exactly

Great scene :woot:

Seems a bit passive though.

Doesn't he have better things to do than listen to them bicker like an old married couple? What if they went on for 5 more minutes? What does he do, like... leave and come back later? :p

Batman: "Can we move this along? My neck is ****ing cramped."

Those Clips Are Wonderful!

Cant Wait To See The Whole Movie! I'll Fly To Hongkong For It!!!

In the last clip the joker kinda laughs like a monky.

Batman: "Can we move this along? My neck is ****ing cramped."

"Accomplice!? I was going to tell them it was all your idea" :)

I love that line! Best joke in the movie by far! (that we know of)

LOL. "I'm gonna blow this popsicle stand, see if they notice." :lmao:

EXACTLY.

How funny would that be, seriously? Someone should do a spoof like that by editing it and put it up on you-tube.

*Batman shows up*
*Gordon and Dent are arguing*
*Gordon and Dent still arguing*
*Batman just leaves*
*Gordon and Dent still arguing*
*Finally Gordon and Dent notice Batman is gone*
*Gordon and Dent pause in shock for a moment*

GORDON
Anyway, I KNOW you've got crooked people in your department!

DENT
HAVE NOT!

GORDON
DO TOO!

:funny:
