2014/2015 NHL Thread: Hawks!

That was such an amazing series by the Rangers and Caps. I'll hand it to the Caps.....especially Holtby, they played their asses off. I have nothing but respect for them and how they battled. People are going to remember it as the Rangers coming back from 3-1 but the Capitals definitely did not make it easy on them. This was no collapse by any means.

I'm very proud of the NY Rangers. This team and more specifically, the core of players they've put on the ice for the past few years have so much freaking heart. I'm really looking forward to the Tampa series. It's a great matchup, there's a few former Rangers on that team.

Yep some former Rangers over there on the other end, a good team to go up against. Going to be a fun series.

Since Tampa's strength is in their team speed, this series will be a wide open one. That being said, the edge goes to NYR for their goaltending and defense. Rangers in 6.

man you guys really come crawling out of the woodwork after a win

I've fully admitted here before that I don't watch a lot of reg season hockey but always root for the Rangers in the playoffs. Hockey always takes a back seat for me in the fall when baseball playoffs, NFL and basketball are starting. Honestly this past season was the most hockey I've watched in forever because the Knicks were so god awful. :O

Yeah, I think the Rangers are going to win over Tampa. Defense + goaltending >> offensive starpower in the NHL playoffs.

Chicago vs. New York will be an incredibly entertaining, and bitterly contested, Cup final.

That's odd because the Ducks are gonna destroy the filthy ****ing blackhawks.

I think the Ducks are pushing the Hawks to the limit, but you cannot discount a team with the same core of talent that already has two Cups and has proven itself in the playoffs over and over again. I think the Hawks have slightly better goaltending and markedly better defence, and of course if you know me you know I'm of the defence-first school in NHL playoff hockey. Hawks in 6.

I think Bettman secretly wants a Tampa/Anaheim final, because those teams play "nicer" hockey.

The NHL is hoping for an Original Six Final--NYR v CHI

Actually, Bettman's wet dream is a Stanley Cup final between the Pensacola Sparkling Magic Happyfish and the Las Vegas Neon Twitter Ninjas.

Maybe next year! After the season the LV Neon Twitter Ninjas had, they're lucky they still have fans! And don't get me started on the Sparkling Magic Happyfish and their goaltending! Awful!

Hawks looked lost today.

Since my Caps are done, I'm rooting for the Ducks. I like the makeup of their team.

Every time I think of the Caps loss I can't stop thinking about one of the worst trades ever. The Caps giving up Filip Forsberg for Martin Erat. Everyone knew Forsberg was going to be a star and they stupidly trade him when the had no hope of winning last year. Imagine Forsberg on the Caps at center with Backstrom and Kutzentov. Can't stop them all.

Ducks looked pretty unstoppable yesterday, but Chicago should be able to bounce back nicely. They're too good of a team to let a loss like that get in their heads. Hopefully, the Blueshirts can take game 2 tonight against the Bolts.

Tyler Johnson with a hat trick with half the game left. Kid has some talent.

I thought St. Louis was a nice addition for the Rangers. I wouldn't act like it was a total flop.

Hopefully just as good as Martin St. Louis has looked for you guys :pal:

Yeah, he was the catalyst for us reaching the Stanley Cup Final last year and a major part of the reason we made it into the playoffs this year...having trouble understanding what you meant by your comment. You were trying to be insulting, right?
