2014/2015 NHL Thread: Hawks!

I thought St. Louis was a nice addition for the Rangers. I wouldn't act like it was a total flop.

He's been non-existent in the Playoffs this year.

Regardless, he follows the Rangers MO of typically acquiring stars that are long after their expiration dates.

Nash is probably the only example that runs counter to that, but then again he's basically non-existent in the playoffs as well.

The Rangers didn't get St. Louis hoping to squeeze four or five years out of him--they had a headcase that they couldn't re-sign named Callahan. Instead of letting themselves get locked into a six year, six million per no move/no trade contract like the Bolts did, they cut their losses and got a pretty decent player in return. That being said, St. Louis will be an UFA at the end of the year and unless he agrees to sign with NYR at a ridiculously low price, will sail off into the NHL sunset. On a side note: what do you think of Babcock agreeing to coach Totonto?

His funeral I guess. Don't know what he hope to achieve with that team. It's like joining the Edmonton Oilers in 2008.

I think he has 6 million reasons a year to take that job, that said I would have loved my blues to get him.

It's going to be a tire fire of epic proportions. Think "Mike Shanahan to the Redskins."

The tire fire is already happening; Babcock is the equivalent of putting a small sign saying "Danger: tire fire" next to it, albeit a platinum sign with bedazzled diamonds on it.

St. Louis and Nash have both been non existent in the playoffs, I agree. But NYR94 nailed it, the St. Louis move late last year was a low risk/high reward.

The Bolts really own him. You can tell his confidence is shot against them. The OT winner was weak. I can't believe this is the same goalie that shut down my Caps.

The Rangers are playing Bolts type of hockey and they don't have the offensive talent to play that way against them.

Big comeback statement game by the Rangers.

This series has been fun to watch, but it's been the most undisciplined and horribly defensive series I have seen in a while. When I used to play if we played this way our coach would have had us doing laps around the rink until we couldn't move our legs.

Another thing, these announcers are terrible. They make it like every save is great save (for both goaltenders). Some of these saves any d-leaguer could make. I guess they want the game to be more dramatic.

Well, that was a terrible loss by the Rangers last night. Their passing was terrible. The entire offense was out of sync all night long.

Insane comeback by Toews and the Hawks last night, only to get their hearts ripped out 45 seconds into OT.

I seriously thought after Toews tied up the game that they'd win in OT and then close out the Ducks in 6. What a turn of events that was.

Rangers, baby! Game seven. Madison Square Garden. Stanley Cup within striking distance. Best time of the year! LGR!

LOL funny how you guys crawl out from under the rock after each win, but are nowhere to be found after a loss.

When Callahan scored late in the first cutting the deficit to 2-1, I thought that was going to be the HUGE turning point for Tampa to come back and win...

Glad I was wrong... should be an awesome game 7.

Go Hawks!!!

Who's your team, homeboy? Or is it just more fun to run your mouth without having a pony in the race?

Hulkie is a fan of the No-Longer-Long-Islanders. :o
