The Dark Knight 4 "Dark Knight" Scenes to be Shot in IMAX!

Although, I think it unlikely that Heath suddenly goes from slicked brown hair to puffy green... I'll wait until the movie to see what happens.

Meh. I'd rather Nolan use conjecture about Joker's pre-Joker history. A struggling comedian, a criminal mastermind, some crazy from Arkham. All possible explainations, and there should never be just one.

The Killing Joke was conjecture and made it plain that it was just one of many possibilities.

Obviously, but I've never really liked that possibility. I liked the one from Batman: Black and White Vol. 2. Case Study, I think it was called.

That is not allowed on these boards! :cmad: In fact, it is preferable if you can determine the entire movie and whether you love or hate this movie based off of one image. :yay:

And then argue your point until you're blue in the face and are put on probation. That's the SHH way.

That ok because it was merely a "possibility". I referenced TDK not because of that one possibility but because it implied that even Joker doesn't remember his origin.

logical thinking, keeping a cool head, and waiting things out are not allowed on here! you must be rash, and impulsive! LOGICAL THINKING BE DAMNED!! :cmad:

if they were to do an origin, doesn't anyone else feel that the red hood origin might feel a little out of date now?

i remember goyer saying how he would love to do a red hood/joker origin on film. kinda scares me.

I think the Red Hood should definitely be a part of Joker's story. However, like the comics, I don't think there should be a definitive origin. I think there should be various flashbacks (sometimes of the SAME THING...just told a different way). For example, as Batman is studying the Joker's past and being a good detective, he should stumble upon a criminal record that talks about a bank robber called the Red Hood. Then, maybe, as he gathers information from thugs, he finds out that there is "no one Red Hood".

Who even said Nolan's going to explore that aspect of the Joker? Leave it alone, and let the audience contemplate how he turned into a freak.

Keeping the Joker's true origin a secret makes it much more ambigious and interesting.
Amen.

I havent looked through the thread (its pretty long). But doesnt this pic along with the other make you think Joker's makeup is self applied (at least partially)? I mean, those big, blad rings around the eyes seem pretty stark, like he paints them on, and the lipstick is obviously applied. I hope the face is white from chemicals and not because he bases it out.

I never liked the Joker being the Red Hood. I know it's continuity and everything, but it just seems dumb running around with a red, stiff condom on your head. I prefer Joker being a chemical engineer (hence his knowledge on making Joker-gas) and then quitting his job to pursue his dream as a comedian. He fails, however.

But other than that, I love the image of Ledger through the mirror.

Going back to the IMAX thing. You would think George Lucas would be the first to film a flick using IMAX cameras but kuddos to Christopher Nolan for being the first.

I'd bet money on the fact that his skin is bleached white and his hair is perma-dyed green. And the black around his eyes and his red lips are self-applied.

Just a gut feeling I have.

I can buy that. Seems a bit more plausible and grounded. I never liked how the chemicals just did everything perfectly and focused (skin white, hair green, etc.).

But having his skin bleached/messed up somehow, and then he, in his twisted way, "completes" the look with lipstick and so forth...

Sure.

I've also mentioned before that blue face paint on a clown is considered bad luck.

Maybe it's intentional? Who knows. It would be a nice touch on Nolan's part though.

the clown in the foreground is "Grumpy", right? I remember reading Ledger's mask had the "hair" on the top, which looks like the guy in the background. And from the sides, it sounded to me like Chuckles was Joker.

If you look at the set pictures of Heath on this site, he's wearing the exact same shirt and jacket as the clown in the foreground.
