6.19 Nemesis - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

More from S.A.M:

Lionel is seriously injured in the explosion that traps Lex. On his deathbed with Martha by his side, Lionel asks Clark to go save Lex, not knowing the caves are filthy with green kryptonite. I have no idea if he lives or dies so don't email me.

Sounds awesome.

That wording has me a little confused, does Clark not know that the caves are full of kryptonite or is it Lionel that doesnt know.

Craig just posted this in the TWOP spoilers thread.

there will be lots of interaction between Clark and the Luthors that would make people watching from the beginning very happy. And his suspicion about MM being the episode was wrong :(

Well if 1 doesn't know the other 1 doesn't know either, so that makes both of them lol.

Craig added some more:

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]UPDATED 2/20/07 (Thanks Again S.A.M.!): The explosion that traps Lex in the cave causes serious injury to Lionel. Martha visits him in the hospital, where he is gravely hurt.
- Some of Martha's feelings for Lionel have to be faced in this story. At the same time, the cave trap causes Clark and Lex re-evaluate the choices they have made, and Clark wonders if he was wrong to close the door on Lex the way he has. In short, a lot of people have some conversations that we've been waiting a long time for.
- How is Clark trapped in the cave? Thank Kryptonite. Why else wouldn't he just dig his way out?
- Erica Durance (Lois) is not in this episode.

Clark & Lex has an sane talk ? Thats a scary thought :wow: It is a shame that Lex is the Anakin Skywalker of this story. I do miss the good side Lex.

Interesting, I wonder how obvious it will be to Lex that Clark is disabled by the kryptonite and not the cave in itself?

If he does realize that kryptonite is to blame what sort of repercussions will it have if Lex finds out Clark's major weakness?

I think that Lex already knows that Kryptonite in some way does effect Clark. Lex has had enough experience & has seen plenty of things with his own eyes to get an idea.

i'm beginning to think smallville has gone way to far with lex knowing about clark. don't get me started with the no glasses thing. but add that to lex knowing clark is affected by kryptonite and comics legendary genius looks like a chump

If the kryptonite is ambient, Clark would be weaker but not completely on-the-floor helpless. If there are chunks of it on the floor, it'd be hard for *anyone* not to notice. Unless, perhaps, the lights go out. They did say cave-in? In the dark, Lex might not notice Clark's sweating & other symptoms and might think he'd been injured in a normal way.

Oh, true...

Good point. They'll probably do something like that.

I just read something on LiveJournal that mentioned that John Glover wanted this season to be his last season on Smallville. Has anyone else heard if this is true, or is this only someone's speculation? I'm thinking that if it's true, it may give us some indication how this episode will end. :csad:

Maybe this episode will have alot of the exposition that people have been wanting..some of the Lionel inner thoughts that we want to hear, his real motivations.

I think this will just be a superb episode.

This season I think will officially trump my previous favorite season: S3:woot:

So has it "unoffically" trumped it? :woot:

So far... :O

Season 3 is still currently my favorite season...I'm waiting till this season ends before I make that decision.

But this season would have to do something completely horrible and stupid to mess up the superb run it has going. :cwink:

For me, it officially trumped my favorite season (5) about a third of the way in...

It's been getting better and better. Overall, my ratings have shown it's better on average. Right now Season 6 averages a 4.2, but Season 5 was a 4.1 and 4 was a 3.8.

It's totally awesome in my book, some of the worst eps of season five and four were yet to air at this point (Ageless, Lucy, Hypnotic) so if they keep this up, this season will pull even further ahead of those seasons.

It's all good.

:D

Season 6 so far has kicked ass.:ninja: There has been some great episodes(Justice, Labyrinth, Zod, Crimson, and Fallout) and even the not so great ones( Static and Wither) haven't been that bad.

I would say that as far as seasons go this is the order.

Okay, seeing as how people keep saying Lex HAS TO kill Lionel (and I agree), wouldn't it be awesome if Lex got out of the cave at the end of the episode and killed Lionel once he was out.

whatever seaspn was he wtches and isobel and the crystals,, that was my least favprie...except for jane seymour she was

That was the 4th season, which I liked more than the 3rd (much to Brainy's dismay).

:p

lol :woot:

Just because I have an aneurism whenever I watch Spell doesn't mean that I judge others choice of that episode or season in general. :p

Season four itself wasn't as bad as the rep it got, but it did get weaker by the end of the season, but then ended with a huge bang. I thought season four's first half was far better than the second. "Ageless" and "Forever" by themselves killed the second half of the season...not to mention "Spirit" with the Laters girl.

LOLOL!! ;)

For me, S4 had the widest range of re-heeeeeely good and RE-HEEEEEEL BAAAAAD episodes. For every stinker (Facade, Devoted, Lucy, Spirit, Ageless, Forever), there was an AMAZING ep (Crusade, Run, Transference, Onyx, Blank, Commencement.) Spell was just one of those love 'em or hate 'em eps. For me, it was a guilty pleasure, along with Gone, Unsafe, Pariah, and Sacred. Eps like Jinx, Bound, Scare, Recruit, and Krypto were middle-of the road average fare.

Anyhoo, I think if there was one season that could be labeled Bipolar, S4 would be it. :p

hehe, I figured you would asplode with the rememberance of "Spirit." :p

I agree with you, most of the episodes were really good or really bad, and ultimately I think that it hurt the season as a whole. As for the average run of the mill....I loved Jinx and Krypto....very much...I guess they would be my guilty pleasures of the season..as well as Unsafe and Pariah.

It's ok though, Season Five brought the show back to great and Season six is just blowing everything previously out of the water. :D

its funny that while s4 is my least fav season, it has my fav episode...unsafe....

(ok, its not really my fav, that distinction belongs to rosetta/relic...but its number 3 easy)
