6.19 Nemesis - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

TVGuide's Description:

"Lex and Clark are trapped in an underground maze that's rigged with explosives, and the two reveal secrets about each other that were best left unsaid."

Well that's an interesting description. Secrets better left unsaid.

Hmmmm......

That IS an interesting description! Sounds exciting. :) Clark and Lex haven't had any kind of meaningful dialogue/interaction in a while now, so it'll be cool to see how they react to each other, under crisis circumstances, with all that has gone on with them in the last year or so.

Someone on my lj flist posted this:

CLARK AND LEX ARE TRAPPED TOGETHER IN A COLLAPSED MINE LINED WITH KRYPTONITE - After Jodi (guest star Emily Holmes), the wife of a Special Forces soldier, sets off a pipe bomb in one of Lex's (Michael Rosenbaum) secret labs, Lionel (John Glover) is severely injured and Lex is taken hostage by the enraged spouse. Claiming Lex kidnapped her missing husband, Jodi threatens to blow up the entire lab with Lex inside unless he tells her where her husband is. Clark sets off to rescue Lex, but is immediately felled by the kryptonite lining the earthen walls. Lex and Clark realize the only way they will make it out alive is by helping each other. Kristin Kreuk, Allison Mack and Annette O'Toole also star. Caroline Dries wrote the episode directed by Mairzee Almas

Aside from Lex getting kidnapped AGAIN, it sounds pretty good to me.

Caroline Dries has written some good eps, so it should be a good episode.

Here's the official description from Ksite, although I feel like buoycotting Ksite and posting DTS's description, after Craig's recent post at TWOP. :cmad:

I'm special that way... stealth posts!

:D

What did Craig say?

The girls were all talking about how they'd like to see naked Bizarro Clark, and this was Craig's answer.

If Tom can get his body back into the shape it was in Exile, it might help in the ratings.

I just keep having flashbacks to those horrible baseball pics of last summer...

Now normally you would think he's just having a bit of fun, but given some of his recent comments, I take objection to this kind of statement. It's coming from a place of bitterness that I dont like to see from a Smallville Webmaster.

:whatever:

He makes fun of Tom's weight all the time.

It's clear Craig thinks Tom's fat, and maybe he has put on some weight since the third season. It makes sense, he's getting older, but I thought he'd trimmed down some in some of the more recent episodes.

*shrug*

I still love him and would love to see some more shirtless Clark.

I need newer stills to add to my avi.

:D

Yeah, but is the weight he's gaining flab, or is it muscle?

Well Craig's comments should reflect that the guy's playing Superman, not Superboy, so he needs to look like him. Every season, as Clark's emotional and mental status becomes more like Superman, his body also becomes more like Superman.

Yeah, I can see that...

I guess some people think he should be as cut as he was but I think bulk is good for superman. He's a tank and I like it.

Exactly! Superman doesnt need muscles, because its not muscle that makes him strong. However, HE DOES NEED to be BIGGER than life. Which is exactly what Tom's body is building towards.

Ah jeeze, what can I say? I just love the guy. :woot:

logically no but visually if he's going to match he needs to have a little toning. He's hardly fat and i still think he looks hot body wise perhaps a little more work would do him good- we can always aim to improve can't we:woot:

Pffft! Y'all know MY opinion on the size issue, right? :p

I saw that post from Craig and just had to laugh. Superman is a big dude. Full stop.

And guess what? So is Tom. But he's not a professional bodybuilder. Could he improve? Sure. But that's not gonna change the ratings - and Craig should know that! As long as Welling can fill the suit when the time comes, and he can do that NOW, it's all good. He's got a tank for a body and that's all that matters to me.

Now, don't make me hijack this thread with pictures proving my point. :ninja:

TW's been leaner in seasons past but it's all a moot point--he's supposed to be a growing farmboy. Doesn't mean he has to be in ripped-to-the-bone contest bodybuilder shape.

The "look" or lack thereof that some complain about has much more to do with water retention than it does fat distribution--especially considering the shape Tom's in.

Anyways, can't wait for Nemesis...

Hmmph! I'll take Exile Tom, Scruffy Baseball Tom, Pilot Tom, Judging Amy Tom, Transference Tom, Foggy Tom, Reckoning Tom, all the way to Combat Tom!
Are you sensing a pattern here? :D

Oh.. please do.
*making popcorn*

This episode sounds Uh-May-Zing, btw. I can't wait for all those Clexy scenes. *woof!*

welling is not fat, he gained some weight since season 4, but he seems alittle skinner in recent episodes. Probblay has to do with the fact he said he lost 5 founds, because of the stress of directing an episode or something.

It's pretty clear to me that the only reason Craig keeps mentioning Tom's weight is only because he couldn't get a chance to interview him last time he went on the set, he's all like "uh Tom doesn't do any press", if he thinks he's fat that's fine too.

I know how some people keep on using those Fenway pics to somehow prove that Tom was getting "fat" at the time, but clearly those people must have some tiny problems with their eyesight:

He's a greasy fast Kryptonian tank.

u gotta admit though, tom looked best in season 3-4

he's been in much better shape than he is now

tom's def put on some weight

more fat than muscle

still lookin aight though

but pretty disproportioned

needs to work on his traps/lats/back/triceps

he's basically a chest/bicep guy...

wow, you two are like a couple of schol girls.

Why can't a couple of grwn women show appreciation for a nice body?

If we were two guys ooing and awing over Erica, would you have even noticed?

So will I!

Another proud grown up woman here (or school girl, whatever) :whatever:

Great posts, Avid, Triplet, Pat, Serene, KalKai.

thought this could use a little bump for speculation now that progeny has aired
