7.09 - Gemini - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

Just finished rewatching those clips again and I swear Tom has a slight grin on his face as he picks up the pen to start writing the Kryptonian symbols. It's ever so slight but enough to notice.
Maybe what he writes isn't the real transcription then? That'd be interesting, eh?

Also one big difference is that Bizark talks about his feelings!!!! :wow: There's probably no way in RL that Lana or Chloe wouldn't recognize he's not the real Clark but you just have to suspend belief. (I can't believe I actually said that!)
I dunno. Clark broke down to Lana on her wedding night and told her he loved her. Twice. Is Bizarro really over the top with his words? 'Cause Clark can be pretty passionate when he wants to be, and both Chloe and Lana have seen him on RedK w/o knowing he was under the influence.

Anyway, the payoff this time is a storyline with huge potential and getting to see Tom stretch his acting skills. I agree with Pat. He is more fun to watch when he's "not Clark"! :cwink:
Oh gosh, absolutely!

Hulk, I'm sorry you got spoiled if you didn't want to but it's so great to have something to be excited about. This place has been pretty slow around here for the last few weeks.
Totally agree. It's awesome to be so pumped for an ep - and KNOW it won't disappoint.

I'm really starting to hate this airing it a night early in Canada business... Makes absolutely no sense...
Uh huh
May I suggest you suck it up, given that we have to put up with stuff that makes even less sense.

Like for instance: this year's Superbowl. While watching it on FOX (an American network), the Canadian network simulcasting it will insert nothing but crappy Canadian ads over the Fox ads. Meaning I'll miss out on all those watercooler moments you'll have.

Now I've been dealing with that for at least 10 Superbowls. Call me back during season 17 of Smallville, and maybe you'll have my sympathy.

Could be.

Good point but you'll have to let me know what you think after you see it. It's almost like he knows exactly what to say to Lana.
He takes the blame for Lana's needing to get revenge and apologizes for not understanding how hurt she was by Lex and says he should have let her talk about it more. To Lana's credit she doesn't let him take the blame.

It's awesome to be so pumped for an ep - and KNOW it won't disappoint.

And we also have Persona to look forward to. :woot:

Is that Bizarro's true feelings though, or is that him playing Lana in order to get what he wants? I'm gonna guess it's the latter.

BTW, I don't think we need to worry about spoiler tags at this point; this thread is already spoiled rotten LOL.

Could be but I'm not sure. It's like he just wants to be loved and will say whatever is needed. A subtle difference in what I think you are saying, but he seems to really be trying to take Clark's place. Whatever it is, Lana is sure falling for it and says that she feels closer to Clark than ever. In that last clip there's almost a visable sigh of relief when he hugs her after telling her he is falling in love with her all over again. She's obviously been worried that she was losing Clark but is starting to get comfortable again. At least that is how it came across to me. And that is so "ripe" if that's the case!

Agreed. :woot: Don't know why, I just felt "guilty" all of a sudden. It'll pass. :cwink:

I took him as being sincere in that last scene where he talks about learning that feelings stay the same. I think that he did fall in love with her, just as he said. He doe have Clark's memories and DNA after all. And I'm not thinking that Bizarro is a sad and pathetic creature, just as MM said he was. I bet he wants nothing more than to live Clark's life.

Me thinks you guys are forgetting what's really under all that pretty.

Bizarro is using Clark's memories and feelings in order to manipulate the people around him for as yet, undetermined goals. It's more than just assuming Clark's life. That's WAY too simple. I haven't even seen the episode yet but I'd still bet a tenspot on it. ;)

No, I do agree that he's totally manipulating people, this is still the guy that rips peoples guts out without any hesitation, but I just can't help feeling sorry for him too. I really took what MM said about him to heart, and that coupled with what he said to Lana tonight makes me sad for him. \

I'm a big sucker, what can I say?

G'night people. I'm still anxious to see the rest of the episode tonight. I can't figure out why Bizarro saves Chloe and Jimmy from the bomb. Why would he care?

That's just it - he's not expressing *his* feelings for Lana or anybody. At best, he's relaying what Clark feels, which is interesting. And the fact that Lana thinks she's closer to *Clark* now than ever before is funny in an OMG kinda way LOL.

I'm gonna have a ball watching Bizarro, but I don't feel sorry for him. I feel sorry for the frozen block of ice at the North Pole who is gonna have one hella mess to clean up after spring thaw. :D

so, did Bizarro fly or did he just jump?

so, did Bizarro fly or did he just jump?
I've only seen the DC on that, but they probably made it look as ambiguous as possible since auds weren't supposed to know that Clark was really Bizarro there.

But you bring up a good question in terms of the next episode. However, since some folks are trying to remain unspoiled about this episode, I don't want to say anything about the Bizarro twist over in the Persona thread yet, so I'll just speculate here temporarily...

Since Bizarro knows everything about Clark - his thoughts, feelings, memories, etc. - it will be interesting to hear "Clark's" take on why he can't fly yet. Because obviously, he can fly - he's done it before (Crusade) and Bizarro was able to fly when he copied Clark's DNA (Phantom.) Craig has already confirmed that...

Clark's line to Lana, "I'm so happy, I think I could fly" in Persona is actually spoken by Bizarro.
So I wonder what else the writers will have Bizarro bring to the surface about Clark? It's almost like having RedK Clark but better. :D

I dont think its Bizarro. I dont think its Brainiac either...
I'm post Canadian spoiler free, and as soon as I type this post up I'll be hitting that "x" in the corner of my screen faster than a speeding bullet...
Oh, SNAP!!! HAHAHAHAHA.... I didn't realize you were actually able to resist peeking.

But I was thinking about the discussion we were having yesterday regarding the old foe that is returning and my speculation is that it could be Mxy.
If so, Mxy grew about eight inches and put on about 60lbs of muscle. :p

I would further add that my speculations are usually 80% wrong, so those of you who have indulged yourselves in the Canadian spoilers can laugh your ass off at my post. :oldrazz:

I think you're gonna laugh your butt off when you get to the end of the episode tonight.

I also think that there is something else going on in this episode that is on a deeper and more realistic level, but I have no clue what that is, :O and I'm glad for this one that I am remaining spoiler free. :yay:
Can't wait to talk to you about this. I caved and had to peek. Yeah, I know, I'm a total...

LOL!!! ;)

I wonder if Bizarro is the one responsible for "trapping" Clark or that would be Jor-El's deed and Bizarro just took advantage of it. Or did Bizarro get to Clark before Jor-El could fulfil his thread to "punish" Clark?

If Jor-El is the one responsible for it, I'll be really pissed of. Once again Jor-El would make Clark blame himself for whatever Bizarro does when, in fact, he (it) would be the only one to blame.

Do we really get to know, in the episode, what really happened at the FOS?

Anyway, no matter how "charming" this Bizarro may appear to be, I can only think of poor Clark, left to clean up the mess the other leaves behind. I do hope Clark kicks Bizarro's ass once and for all!

I'm sure Tom has a lot of fun playing someone different now and then but it's Clark, the real one, the character I love and care about. :csad:

That's why I have to keep watching the episodes over and over and over! The pretty is pretty distracting!!! ;)

Maybe, but we've seen that being filled with Clark's presence has a "purifying" effect on people ala "Transference." The Bizarro that has returned is different than the one we saw in the premiere. He's learned to adapt but maybe he's also really changed. Not that he's still not got issues!

I'm gonna have to rewatch "Bizarro" before tonight and maybe after seeing the whole episode (Gemini) I will feel differently but at this point I have to wonder with Serene if they aren't going the sympathy route with him. I actually think that would be better dramatically. To me that makes his character and motives more complex than simple. A ruthless, souless villian is pretty cut and dried. This little bit of Bizarro I've seen seems to promise more. Either way it's gonna be fun discussing it all later!

Glad to "see" you, Carol! Good questions. What did happened when we saw that blinding flash of light "consume" Clark at the end of "Blue"? I took that to be Jor-El's doing but maybe Bizarro interfered somehow. I do hope it's explained. I still suspect there's something we'll discover eventually about Jor-El that's a twist, too. But maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part because I have never liked the SV version of Jor-El. His actions are too inconsistent with the Jor-El we saw in "Relic" or with the descriptions others like Raya and Lara have given of him.

Anyway, no matter how "charming" this Bizarro may appear to be, I can only think of poor Clark, left to clean up the mess the other leaves behind. I do hope Clark kicks Bizarro's ass once and for all!

Agreed. My loyalty remains with Clark and there's no doubt in my mind that he will triumph over Bizarro.

I havent seen the ep yet, just the clips, and it seems to me he's just saying exactly what Lana wants to hear, there's this mischeivous look in his eyes, and his words and actions are slightly exaggerated, almost as if he's mocking Clark. I don't think we should forget that he has an agenda, and used Lana to get info and likes to rip people's guts out...just saying:)

And in "Bizarro" he already killed in cold blood, without a hint of remorse. We see Clark's face and hear Clark's voice, but this being is a cruel and dangerous murderer, going by what we previously saw of him. Right now I can't feel any sympathy for him, much less when he's "stealing" Clark's life. He's not better than the phantom in "Labyrinth".

Actually it does Hulk. Thursday night at 8pm is a wicked time slot to be in. Wednesday night at 8pm or even 9pm is not so bad....even in Canada. But then again...we are only talking about SV airing in Ontario and in BC one night early so not ALL of Canada too.

I was wondering about this too. I wonder if they will end up making Bizarro a sympathetic character, on some level. I keep going back to what MM said about him to Clark - about how this phantom was an unloved and abandoned creature. I felt sorry for him then (even though he does have a nasty habit of ripping out people's organs ) and after his words to Lana about feeling love, I felt sorry for him in that scene too.

I think there's a potential for Clark to feel sympathy for Bizarro when all this is over.
Excellent speculation Serene. I was wondering that too.

I took it that way too. He probably is manipulating Lana to get Lex as well but he also wants to ltake Clark's place. Since he was discarded as MM put it then he probably wants what he never had. The problem is how long can he "pretend" to be Clark especially when he has never loved or been loved before? Can he "love" even though he has had this nasty tendency to rip people's organs out before?

Smallville is so predictable. Shame. The whole thing with Bizarro/Clark happened exactly the way I said it would. No one wanted to believe it. But there you have it.

I don't think it was predictable, it was a nice twist. I for once thought it was Brainiac and not Bizarro, since Brainiac has the ability to mimic other people like it was seen in Oracle with Jonathan Kent.

Just because you guessed it, that doesn't automatically mean it's predictable.

^ Exactly! If it wasn't for Craig telling folks there'd be a huge "twist" in this ep, nobody would have given it a second thought. Clark could just be acting weird for other reasons; we all would have wondered what happened to him at the end of Blue in the FOS. Most fans still think Clark and MM put a quick end to Bizarro in the S7 premiere - and complained about it LOL.

...which btw, didn't Zing say it was Bizarro who locked-up Clark in Gemini? We know Jor-El did something, but it may have been completely separate from Clark ending up in a block of ice.

Good point AgentPat

As for Zing....nothing in Gemini suggests that Bizarro froze Clark so I rack that up to speculation.

I do agree that it seems like quite a concidence that Clark ends up being frozen in the FOS probably by Jor-El and a few weeks later....Bizarro comes along and takes Clark's place. I'm still wondering what MM actually did with Bizarro in the first place since he seems perfectly fine and rejuvenated in Gemini. Funny thing is didn't MM used to work for Jor-El? Hmm....What are they up to?

Can anyone post the link to the Bizzaro clip? Like where did that Bizzaro pic came from?
