7.16 - Descent - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

I bet its Security Guard #2! lol, Seriously though I think it might just be a wild goose chase.

Yeah it's like last year when they said someone was returning. Everyone thought it was Pete, but it turned out to be Nell. Like anyone really cared about her showing up.

I didnt like her this season either. Seems as though they just use her as a tool. Her getting played by the Phantom and having sex with him... and that storyline where she got Clark's powers and immediately turned into this leather-wearing psycho... eh, they arent really trying to portray her in the best light so you cant really blame people for disliking the character..

I always get the impression from her Season 7 scenes that shes a bit mentally unstable; thats why she was so oblivious to the Phantom (she was seeing what she wanted to see)..and Lionel hinted that Lana isnt in the best mental condition anymore..

But anyway, Lana was good.. in season one.

Those episodes got good feeback everywhere Ive seen. People are just clinging on to straws. The Superpowered episode even got props and that should have been a disaster. There is nothing wrong with her and everyone criticises her for not knowing Clark from Bizzarro but as we said on these boards, people didnt know it was him 2 episodes earlier until the reveal at the end. I mean this is at least far more intresting than season one when she's a high school cheerleader. People complain about how he needs to move on, but once he moves on the show is over, hence why its called SMALLVILLE and not METROPOLIS. How people didnt know this from Season 1 is beyond me. Their hoping for Superman man show but it is not that and never was meant to be until the final few episodes.

I had only checked Ksite. While the episodes got some good feedback there, there was always more negative feedback, especially about her.

I don't really ask for a Superman show either, I know what this show is..and I know the network.

But it still feels like they use Lana as a tool to test all their whacky ideas for the sake of creating a stir; and its at the expense of Lana's character or what's left of it.

04nbod's going to love this..but I actually don't mind Kara now. I hope she has more screentime next season; probably will.

At first I thought the idea of Supergirl in Smallville was a weird anachronism but so far shes the only character who hasn't embarassed herself.

It's K-Site.....that board is the most mocked one on the web. There always full of crazy 16 year old white girls who lust for Welling and look up to Chloe because they feel like they too can be a ground breaking journalist (although the way they write says otherwise....).

I agree the writers come up with bad ideas, but when they keep it simple its fine. Like even the Lex-Lana thing was a good potential dynamic until the baby thing. They always do this though with each character, its just she gets scrutinsed because the online fanbase is how I described them above.

Yeah, its sad that the board is Smallville's biggest fansite. It does deserved to be mocked, I agree.

The Lana/Lex thing was one of the best ideas they had and yes; then they screwed it up.

I think she gets the most heat because the writers use her as the primary source for the most drama. Pretty much all of her storylines involve drama, angst, secrets and lies.

And even with all that, Im always in two states of mind about. Should I be angry that because I think she deserves better or should I just accept that this is a CW teen/hero show and is playing that to a t and be more confused at the ridiculous online base who complains about the teen aspect while acting like teens?

Ive been trying to figure that out for 4 years now. Somehow I think I enjoyed the show the first 3 seasons BEFORE I started talking about online lol.

Interestingly enough I didnt have a problem with Lana back then.

The show had bigger issues, like those lameass meteor freaks.

Season 3, at least, had the awesomeness of the Luthor VS Luthor thing all year; too bad it never led anywhere. :|

Yeah Im not too sure why so many people hated Season 3. I thought it was there best.

Well it was a great one if youre a fan of Lex.

That Memoria episode was one of the best ones.

:applaud That's all I could think anytime I have been there, a bunch of little girls hating on Lana and Lois hoping one day Clark will realize Chloe is his true love:funny:

Don't forget all the 'Chloe = real Lois' talk :lmao:

I really hope its Chloe that gets killed off. Cause I never really seen what an mass online suicide is like, but I certainly wouldnt mind seeing...

The episode Chloe is killed off, I will go to K-site, re-register, and mock everyone who thought she should be with Clark and that she is the true Lois. I hate that ****ing site (only the boards, Craig and his news are the best though).

Edit: I'm not saying I think Chloe will be killed off but if she is, the silver lining will be the crying K-siters.

I can't believe people still think Chloe is Lois and not only do they think she is the "real" Lois they think they are some massive movement with Millions of people behind them.:funny:

I wouldn't mind if Chloe got killed off either and the sad part is I probably wouldn't have said that before I started reading message boards. So I would be all for a k-site invasion if she goes.

One of the reasons I come here instead of other places is because people here don't think the show revolves around Chloe and people here don't run around "chloising" every last detail of the show.:whatever:

I still can't believe there's an entire thread dedicated to the theory that Chloe is the real Lois Lane. lol

I know, even if you take away Chloe being a meteor freak I still don't think the theory ever made sense. Just a bunch of shippers try to squeeze a square peg into a circle.

The question is why are they negotiating to get Allison back on the show for Season 8 if Chloe dies in Season 7.

It doesnt add up.

As much as I want it to be Chloe, I dont think it is..

I mean who knows, who cares at this point. As a matter of fact, dont have a 22 episode season, cut it to 13 do what you have to do with Clark and end it.

yeah, I could go for a 13 or 16 episode season 8. We don't really need another 22 episodes before Clark becomes Superman. If these last few episodes of season 7 revolve around the mythology and pushes forward Clark's future, then I think they can shrink season 8 to 16 episodes (maybe not even that much) and get Clark to Metropolis or wherever they want him to end up.

i really hope in Descent it's chloe who getts killed

no offnce to chloe fans but she is doing nothing good and her character reminds me of that side kick role in video games

I wonder if the show will actually end with him becoming Superman or leaving Smallville and going off to the Fortress to train.

Al/Miles hinted that Clark would eventually go off to the Fortress to train for 10 years before becoming Supes.
