8.21 - Injustice - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

I don't think it was Jor-El. Could be Zod (not sure why he would care about the prophecy) or another character in the Phantom Zone.

Was the whole "you are the savior of Kandor" suppose to lead us to believe that the whole city of Kandor is in the Phantom Zone? Did "they" (the orb) not want Doomsday to be in the Phantom Zone for fear of what he could do to them or was it just so that Clark would be forced to deal with Doomsday? If it is the latter, I'm not sure what that has to do with Kandor...

I think it was Zod at the end (I don't know how he got into the orb though) the only reason I can think for him caring about the prophecy is he knows that he can be reborn by his son (Davis) so he wants Clark and Doomsday to fight so that Davis will be killed and Zod to come back.

Not to mention when Zod does come back the prophecy also states that Doomsday is suppose to kill Clark, so that means no one in Zod's way to conquire earth and turn it into Krypton.

see, i never like the ultimates in general.

i did like how the legion seemed to say everything i was thinking about how smallville clark is NOTHING like superman

and the actor that plays ollie was on passions, a very weird soap opera, on that show, he was the smart guy/voice of reason and usually pointed out the best way to handle stuff without secrets and lies...sadly like ollie now, he was eventually lured into the plotlines of lies and stupidity

Ironmaiden I know everyone has the right to voice their opinoin, and yes certain episodes from the past have been eye rollers and some have been pretty bad, but if your going to complain about it and don't like it, then why do you continue to watch the show?

If you don't like it, then don't watch it.

i thought i pointed that out already

i like superman
and i hope the show gets better/good
i complain becuase its a forum for my opinion
never would i ridicule someone for liking the show. but i see nothing wrong with voicing me dislike of a show, especially when i give reasons.

its not like i'm flooding the board with nonsense like "omfg! whats wrong with clark kent hes teh humosaxual" and just writing smallville sucks.

the other reason i still watch smallville is becuase its fun to make fun of.

every watch a really bad movie just so u could make wisecracks at?

truth be told, i never leave an episode of smallville on the edge of my seat wondering what will happen next.

the show, like heroes sadly sucks at finales.

If the orb is Kandor, it makes sense why Clark and Brainiac got weak around it. It has a Red Sun environment built in. Perhaps when it was inserted into the Fortress console, Jor-El designed it to release a strong burst of that environment to remove Clark's power and also bring down the fortress. That's why MM had to take Clark close to sun to reverse the process.

see this guy gets it!
no harm done

personally i think this is the best exchange involving a fan of a show and someone who hates the show ever on the site

Yea, I'm not one to condemn someone else for their tastes. I really enjoy it, but i don't expect everyone to.

It's just I absolutely hate Heroes, and find it utterly boring, but I have many friends who love it as much as I love Smallville.

Until Smallville, my wife had no interest in comicbooks or Superman. Now she actually shows some interest in the characters and Superman in general. She actually has pulled out my comics and flipped through the Doomsday story to get an idea on what the character is like. Interestingly after reading the death of Superman story, she agrees with me that Smallville has created a better story for Doomsday than the comics did. :p

i could argue that superman is just a hard character to do proper justice through live action

he kicked all kinds of ass in the cartoons

but even the reeve films were simple and boring(real estate!)
i just dont understand why they don't want fights. when lex became zod, the two should have been brawling for like an hour instead someone falls asleep or gets sucked into something

With the movies I more than agree. As much as I loved the Donner movies, they were very simplistic, but that was ok for the time. I won't even say what I felt about Superman Returns. :whatever:

But as far as tv goes, I let it slide quite a bit, since the budget per episode tells them what they can and can't do. I think for what they have to spend, they have given us some fantastic action pieces.

well they already cut the power budget since he doesn't do anything

but wire work shouldn't cost that much and enough with the slow-mo(excluded the occasionaly super speed show off, but its stupid in a fight)

and if clark is fighting someone as strong as him, it wouldn't even be that effects heavy, just breakable sets and the occasional getting tossed great distances, don't even need flight, and his heat vision is just wavy air, super breathe is just a super fan.

its not like he shoots electricity from his ass or flies

As long as his fight with Doomsday is on par or a little better than the fight in "Combat" I'll be happy.

that would be an awesome way to explain the events of last season surrounding the orb and tieing it into the comic mythology. Will it happen? Doubtful.

Overall it was a decent episode. A lot of balls put into play for the Finale. Dont really care to get in to much more detail than that.

I dont think it was zod talking to tess via the orb, i bet its some other kandor citizens. but if kandor is in the orb or the pz that is interesting twist on things.

LOl. Kara went looking for Kandor and it's been in Smallville possibly most of this whole season. If it is indeed Kandor that is.

Poor Kara. :(

Great theory though as for why the orb would sap Clark of his powers.

Thanks. I agree that it probaly won't happen that way, but it would tie things together well if they did. I guess we will just have to wait and see. You were right about them trying to cram a lot in the finale as well. Ihope they pull it off.

i really liked this episode. and that was a great explanation. i couldnt remember the lsat time we saw the orb...a while ago i guess.

i just wish we could have seen more of Ollie....physically!

justin hartley is a BEAST! a sexy beast!

Seeing her reaction to him naked in her bed was hilarious. :D

I also laughed when he was knocked unconcious....also while naked.:funny:

I have to admit, I didn't expect that, but they always seem to find ways to get Justin shirtless.

last night's episode was pretty good, IMO. There were a lot of good things. I liked that Dr. Emile Hamilton is helping Clark out. In this take, I'm sure he'll know he's Superman. Seems to me like he's the official doctor for anything alien/super powered. I liked the interaction between Tess and Oliver. It was funny when he was GA and heard Tess coming in. The next shot was him naked in bed. LOL But I think I laughed more at him getting knocked out from the explosion while he was naked! It must have hurt. :csad: I was bummed that Livewire died so quickly, but knowing Smallville, I'm sure they can bring her back some how so she's a real threat when Clark is Superman. It was nice that they showed the kryptonite ring. It was obviously Lex's since Oliver stole it from him after the explosion. Looks like Oliver might keep it (something that Batman would do). The ending was a real shocker though. I don't know what to make of it. I have a feeling it's either Brainiac or someone else who called out to Tess from the orb. My gut is going with
Zod because of the events that might unfold in the finale

As meh as the episode was for me, Jessica Parker Kennedy's hotness was enough to keep me entertained.

okay, i just gotta ask, am i the only one who is hating this whole season...like hating more than the past seasons?

aside from "alien jesus" the writing is terrible and the acting sucks.

never a single fight and they seem to disregard whatever big talk happens at the end of an episode when the next one airs.

clark is a huge idiot
and green arrow, who used to represent the annoyed viewer is getting a bit annoying too.

and for the love of god! kill chloe! she should have died like 8 seasons ago(thats right!)

i still watch the show in hopes that maybe..just maybe they'll have a fight...but goddamnit! i don't know whats worse...their intentional lack of fights or heroes' having fights but not showing them on screen.

so is the rule no fights no tights no flights?

I'm not sure hate is the word that I'd use, but I'm definitely losing interest in the show the longer this season goes. Some I've even had to watch online since I'd completely forget it was on that night.

yea i got to say again like i did in my review i thought ollie being naked in tess's bed was a funny way to get out of that situation.
