Age of Ultron Aaron Johnson is Quicksilver - Part 1

His death was very saddening and all, but what really did it for me during that scene was when/how he said "Didn't see that coming" after being shot. That was the most heartbreaking part of that entire scene for me :(
What about you guys? Did you guys feel the same?

Big time.

Yes very emotional scene. I liked the "Did you not see that coming" gag being used through out the movie. For someone who didn't have a lot of lines, he was still quite endearing and a good choice to add to the movie.

Bleh I really wish Marvel Legends made a 6 inch QS figure as well as SW and Vision.

I mentioned this before, but as much as I liked Wanda (and I prefer her character overall), I really enjoyed how proactive QS was.
She had her doubts, needed a peptalk etc (totally understandable).....

QS? Well, once they realized Ultron was going to be bad for the human race, he jumped right in working with the Avengers, just got to business. I thought that was a very cool aspect.
I really liked both QS (Fox and Marvel), I'm really glad we had both.

Maybe down the line we will get figures of them. Especially Wanda in her new outfit :hrt:

It's funny you mentioned it because I bought both Iron Man and Cap from the AoU line today! I am not really interested in the ones that are not movie based, personally. Except maybe Batroc :oldrazz:

I recently started to collect marvel legends myself. And like you I am only focusing on MCU figures. I grabbed Winter Soldier and Star Lord so far. My comic shop ordered me the rest of the guardians line. Unfortunately that includes two non MCU figures but I need them to build Groot.

I saw AOU Cap, IM and Hulk last weekend at a no name toy shop in the mall. But they were like $27. I know for a fact I can grab them cheaper at like Target or Wal Mart. Oh and I also got the Toys R Us 3 pack last weekend of Coulson, Hill and Fury :woot:

I need that 3 pack in my life :( lol!

I have been getting the figs since Thor's 1st movie line with the Wal Mart exclusives. I was able to get the entire Avengers 1 movie set. Guardians I recently got them all, but I am missing 2 Groot pieces. One day, I plan on getting Iron Monger and Abomination from IM1 and TIH. But, that requires money, lol!

That first movie Thor though was like, off. His head is huge. Amazon is coming out with a 4 pack soon this year. It has Hawkeye (no sun glasses), Bruce Banner, Widow and an AOU Thor which looks way better. So I will be grabbing that. I need Loki from the first Avengers, it's a bit pricey now but I will eventually grab him. He's a good figure then yeah? Also later this year is an Ant Man line I'm sure you know. It has the movie Ant Man but the rest is comic figures. But the BAF is MCU Ultron, and I really want him hah.

I am totally buying a lot of the Ant-Man figs to complete Ultron, LOL! The Loki from Avengers is very nice! Plus, he has the Scepter :woot: I agree, the Thor 1 ones were not very good, but the Avengers 1 Thor is much better.

Nice I still think I am gonna get the Amazon 4 pack when it comes out so I will have an AOU Thor. And yeah I will be buying all the ant man figures primarily just for Ant Man himself and to build Ultron. And dude you KNOW down the line after infinity war they're gonna make a line with a BAF MCU Thanos.

Yep. Why I am nto really worried about the BAF Thanos they did this time. I'm just hoping we get ourselves a few make up ones from AoU in the Civil War line, like maybe Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver!

Yep! Or Vision! Just give me all 3! Oh and I want Falcon too with his newer costume.

The scene where Pietro sees SHIELD helping civilians and displays a moment of actual contentment was fantastic. He's always been a restless soul.
I would have liked to have seen more of his character growth in the future.

I've been a lurker for a while, but this comment inspired me to post for the first time just so that I can agree with you. I really loved this moment, and haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else.

I knew that *it* was coming because I accidentally got spoiled the freaking night before I watched the movie (:argh:), but I still found it to be quite emotional and hit me harder than I thought it would. It would have been nice to see him survive and join the team at the end with his sister, but I guess I can understand why Whedon did it even if I don't 100% agree with it. Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if he came back eventually, especially for the Infinity Wars.

About Pietro though -
is he actually dead? I can't think of the last when a major character (unless a villain) appeared in only one Marvel movie. They all do multiple films don't they?

With Wanda's reaction and Baby Barton being given Pietro's name, I think it's safe to say he's dead. But there are still ways to bring him back. I didn't know that Dr. Strange brought him back from the dead in the comics, so that'd be one angle to explore. Another option would be having Thanos revive the dead, as his personal soldiers. And after Thanos's defeat, Quicksilver remains alive.

Welcome! And I'm glad to have to inspired you to contribute. :woot:

I was also spoiled :argh:(don't understand why people do this) weeks ago but I told myself they could be wrong and it might work out differently. But when it happened I had the exact same reaction you described. It's anybody's guess what happens in the future but nothing will diminish for me what a great moment it was. (As an aside - I also wish I wasn't spoiled with the information that Hawkeye was going to be in Civil War because that would have added even more tension to the scene.)

That's just one aspect of his character though and with the juggling act that a film about the Avengers truly is, I feel that really is a nitpick. A similar situation happened with Hawkeye in the first film and look how much more we got to see in the second go around?
Unfortunately, we will not get the opportunity to see more aspects of Quicksilver's personality because he's dead.

This is probably why I think it was a dumb move
to kill him off so suddenly. He could of easily been in one of the other solo movies to flesh out his character a bit more before he bites the bullet. But right now, it's just a waste. I mean, why do we have to have characters killed off anyway? Why? It does nothing but piss people off, and give a false sense of "things have gotten real now". Star Wars never really killed off any of the major characters, Indiana Jones never killed off any major characters,

I agree, but then if no one significant dies, then you'll have a bunch of people complain about that too (see: TDKR and The Return of the King).

The people who complain don't matter if the movies do really well at the box office.
