You know what would be cool? How about an 8 week introduction into SWORD next winter?

I do remember him getting into a lot of dust ups with other posters.

Yeah, its existence is meant as a midseason winter replacement while "Agents" goes on break. I hope it becomes a tradition. Even though I'm fairly convinced that "Agent Carter" will be great, I'd rather Marvel explore the possibilities of a new miniseries every winter.

Hold up. So its a mini series and not an actual full series? So one shouldnt expect a season 2?

8 shows, and if it does well who knows? It could become it's own show, or another Winter filler next season

More like a 'limited' series, much like Sleepy Hollow where it gets more than one season (assuming it's received well enough), it's just those seasons are shorter than the more standard 22 episode series. Here's what was said about 9 months ago (note: this was before they decided exactly how many episodes season 1 would be):

As for the length of the series, McFeely said they’ve planned for 13 episodes (or “maybe even less”):

“That’s my hope, is that it would be something like [Under the Dome]. Our case would be that it would be a limited series and you would wrap up that one bad guy and that one case, and then if you like it we’ll do it again next year and it’s 1947.”

Given that we know how it ends (Peggy can't die for instance) a shorter show makes much more sense. Tell small stories that add to a larger narrative, but don't get bogged down in long arcs that ultimately have little pay off

8 Episodes is a tight little number of episodes perfect to tell a story akin to an actual comicbook arc. I'd love it if Marvel did one of these every year with their lesser known properties.

Thanks. That makes more sense now

Me, too. I've seen where the producers have stated that a second season may be coming next year, but I'd really prefer a story about other MCU characters. Just imagine an 8 part miniseries about one of these characters:

1. Mockingbird
2. Deathlok
3. Donnie Gill
4. Maria Hill
5. Lady Sif

They could pull an HBO/True Detective type of scenario where there is a different story each year. Plus, they could use characters from the movies and Netflix shows. A Hawkeye or Black Widow 8 episode series would draw huge ratings and could be filmed at a cheaper rate than a big budget CGI movie.

I agree with the notion that Marvel could do a different topic for their Winter break miniseries (assuming they become a thing) There's a lot of possibilities there: S.W.O.R.D., Howling Commandos, even film characters like Hawkeye. I'm pretty sure they could lock down Renner for an eight episode commitment. They could spin-off Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. stuff too, like Deathlok.

As much as I like the character of Peggy Carter, there's a lot of other stories in other times and settings that could be told in that slot. But for now, bring on Agent Carter! I'm definitely psyched.

Not if it's just him taking his son to the Laser Tag arena. When he leaves, they might ask him for his Laser Tag vest back and he'll have to say that he came in with it because it's his costume. :o

I really, really hope there are many series of this. I am officially hyped. :)

A Lady Sif and the Warriors Three spin-off series would be all kinds of incredible

Gang, I know I'm prone to hyperbole, but the #AgentCarter pilot is perfect. @HayleyAtwell is flawless. It is everything I wanted and more.

What I've always loved about Peggy Carter is that she's allowed to be strong AND vulnerable, self-assured AND insecure. A REAL PERSON.

In a sexist time period and system, #AgentCarter explores those misogynistic stereotypes while coolly dismantling them - it's so well done.

#AgentCarter supporting cast = equally fabulous. Great to see more @dominiccoop, and @EnverGjokaj & James D'Arcy are total scene-stealers.

Alex Zalben ‏@azalben Had a great chat today with the super-smart @HayleyAtwell about #AgentCarter - which is a blast, btw. Look for it on @MTVNews soon(ish)!
