Yeah, its existence is meant as a midseason winter replacement while "Agents" goes on break. I hope it becomes a tradition. Even though I'm fairly convinced that "Agent Carter" will be great, I'd rather Marvel explore the possibilities of a new miniseries every winter.
8 shows, and if it does well who knows? It could become it's own show, or another Winter filler next seasonHold up. So its a mini series and not an actual full series? So one shouldnt expect a season 2?
More like a 'limited' series, much like Sleepy Hollow where it gets more than one season (assuming it's received well enough), it's just those seasons are shorter than the more standard 22 episode series. As for the length of the series, McFeely said theyve planned for 13 episodes (or maybe even less):
Thats my hope, is that it would be something like [Under the Dome]. Our case would be that it would be a limited series and you would wrap up that one bad guy and that one case, and then if you like it well do it again next year and its 1947.
Thanks. 8 Episodes is a tight little number of episodes perfect to tell a story akin to an actual comicbook arc. I'd love it if Marvel did one of these every year with their lesser known properties.
I agree with the notion that Marvel could do a different topic for their Winter break miniseries (assuming they become a thing) There's a lot of possibilities there: S.W.O.R.D., Howling Commandos, even film characters like Hawkeye. I'm pretty sure they could lock down Renner for an eight episode commitment. They could spin-off Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. stuff too, like Deathlok.
As much as I like the character of Peggy Carter, there's a lot of other stories in other times and settings that could be told in that slot. But for now, bring on Agent Carter! I'm definitely psyched.

Gang, I know I'm prone to hyperbole, but the #AgentCarter pilot is perfect. @HayleyAtwell is flawless. It is everything I wanted and more.

What I've always loved about Peggy Carter is that she's allowed to be strong AND vulnerable, self-assured AND insecure. A REAL PERSON.

In a sexist time period and system, #AgentCarter explores those misogynistic stereotypes while coolly dismantling them - it's so well done.

#AgentCarter supporting cast = equally fabulous. Great to see more @dominiccoop, and @EnverGjokaj & James D'Arcy are total scene-stealers.
Alex Zalben ‏@azalben Had a great chat today with the super-smart @HayleyAtwell about #AgentCarter - which is a blast, btw. Look for it on @MTVNews soon(ish)!
