This was the best pilot for a comic book show that I have ever seen. I totally loved it. Peggy is a fantastic lead. Normally in a pilot, I'm cringing half the time and thinking "It will get better later. " But this show opened with a bang.![]()

So does this take place before or after the one-shot? I'm confused.
Yep, before. SHIELD doesn't exist yet and that's how the One Shot ended, with Howard asking Peggy to leave her crappy workplace and form SHIELD with him. The show runners that this takes place before that.
I gather they just used a bit from the One Shot because they wanted a past action scene and it was pretty generic so why not use it to show or remind the audience that Peggy has skills going to waste.
Did you see the end of the One-Shot? It ends with her joining Howard to run the new SHIELD.Rewatch the one shot... i didnt think it was shield, it was her just starting where shes at. She had no power in the one-shot she snuck off after hearing a mission briefing to handle things herself while the boys treated her like a useless sack of garbage

Much much better than the first few episodes of AoS, imo. And way better than the first of Gotham. This show definitely has personality and charm. I love the 40s setting.
Plus what other show mentions Captain America often, with him being an actual person in that world? Thats just great.
