Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - S2E1 "Shadows"

We don't know that Gabe Jones is his grandfather. That's only an assumption.

What a damn cool start to the season. Now THAT is how you do a premiere. I have to say that Blacklist, Gotham and NCIS got off to limping starts. AOS however, hit the ground running!

There was intrigue right from the start even though they needed to re-set the show and explain where everyone is at now.

I love the Ward dynamic.
His Hannibal Lector cell and set up is beyond wonderful.

Did they just
kill Lucy Lawless one episode in? WTF that's epic?

Absorbing Man was brilliant. They nailed it as if right out of the books.

The new characters being mercs are perfect. They (or he) brings a new attitude and less militaristic viewpoint.

Skye actually looks like a different character. Again, wonderful in every way.

Fitz is messed up but far more interesting now.

An assumption? I thought that was the case in the episode where they went into his grandfather'sold case.

That was... Interesting. There were good and bad ponts for me...

I liked the sequence at the start with Carter & Co. The fact that an 084 is called that because that just happened to be the random number given is strangely amusing to me. The hint to TAHITI was interesting, just when did that alien arrive on Earth... And why?

Fitz... Oh man, that was a kick in the balls. He's so far gone he can't realise that Simmons is just a head-Simmons. Really felt the frustration when he couldn't get the right words out.

Ward. What the **** happened to him? There's no way he went that crazy just by being locked up in that cell... Not when he lived on the mountain for however long Garrett had him up there for... I suspect we'll find out that there's been some sort of mind tampering or something done to him.

Hartley.... Sorry, but I cannot believe they'd make a big thing of Lawless appearing, then kill her off like that. Sense it makes not!

If you don't think that Ward would go that crazy I can tell you have never been locked up. I have done some time in county and let me tell you sloitary is no joke. Being out in the mountains is nothing like being cut off from human contact, eating the same meals everyday as well as having nothing to stimulate your mind. I'd suggest googling solitary confinement and see how inhumane it is. It can break anyone

I don't recall them saying that Gabe Jones was his grandfather when they went through that case.

I froze the frame on that scene where Dum Dum opens the crate, a split second before Carter slammed it shut, and that's definitely a blue torso inside, with markings on it's forearm....three vertical lines side by side with a horizontal one crossing through it. It must be Coulson's Kree from Tahiti.
So I was right

HOLLLLEEE... DAMN was that tight!! Howling Commandos!! Glen Talbot! Now thats how you Freaking do ABSORBING MAN right!! that dude was Bad ass!! I freaking dig this show!!

Only 10 minutes in, and visually, the show has a better look to it. Don't know how to describe it, but it looks different.

Speaking of Howling Commandos........am I the only one who really wants Dum Dum Dugan to be in present time? I hate that he is dead now.

Best episode of Shield they've ever done! Creel, Lucy Lawless, Fitz, everything was great. Almost hard to believe it's the same show that gave us a Smallville Deathlok.

He and the Commandoes could still show up as LMD's in the present.

The Fitz scene at the end broke my heart. :csad:

Dr Evil I agree with all your sig except TIH. That's at least a 7. How is Iron Man 3 ranked better than TIH?! And I like IM3 but TIH is incredibly(pun intended)underrated.

I was one of a few that wasn't upset with the Mandarin twist. The only things I did not like was the kid and Rebecca Hall in a meaningless role as well as not enough Happy Hogan. TIH was a mess.

Remember, I am a non-CB person and my ratings are from that perspective.

Yeah but then you shouldn't mind the Mandarin twist. I was upset by it as well(I read comics)but it wasn't as bad as comic geeks make it out to be.

I was fine with the Mandarin twist.

Just curious but what drew you to CBM's and this site if you aren't into comics?

CBM's because I liked the Tim Burton Batman movies and the Chris Reeve Batman movies as well as the first two Blade movies.

As for this site, I was a semi-regular on CS.Net forum and someone had a link to this site and I signed up after browsing the site a bit and seeing that more that CBM's were being talked about.

When a new character is announced for a movie or TV show that is in the comics, A quick google search and I am caught up on the character. Example, when Creel, Lance Hunter and Mackenzie were announced, I did a quick google search of the characters.

Great, great start to the season. The tone feels more serious and real. I liked the tone last season but this feels better moving forward.

Anyone else get the vibes of Cap's "Price of Freedom" speech from TWS when Phil made his speech at the end?

By the way, Budapest was mentioned in this episode

3rd time in the MCU
