It could/would be a cool turn if both Skye and Coulson are the same race but neither know, or a part of Phil has a feeling about it but isn't totally sure. There's clearly some connection between the two, but I'm not going to read to far into anything and get in over my head. As of now they're both humans with strange back stories that ill wait and see play out haha.

....Excuse me. I seem to have come down with a cold. :word:

What if Skye just ends up being the key to something, and not actually ever gets any powers? I think that would probably fit better with what the showrunners originally said they had planned for the core team.

Maybe; but where would the fun in that be? Haters have been demanding Skye prove her worth to the team; I've said all along that there's no better way to do that than to reveal that she's a latent super.

People want superheroes in their Marvel universe. That's been a common mantra from day one.

This show justs keeps getting better and better! Personally I think most people are too critical of the show but to each their own.

I just don't like the idea of them being supers too much. Coulson I'm actually fine being MarVell, since I've always thought it would be cool. But Skye being something more, even A new imagining of Carol Danvers doesn't sit well with me. I really enjoy her on the show but I don't know if I'd like her being such a big player in the MCU. For all we know Skye could have just been at the site of the 084, and not the object itself.

I hope your cough gets better Sam, try some Halls :D

Wouldn't be a problem for me if she didn't get any powers. And her being the key to uncovering some sort of McGuffin could prove to be more rewarding than her just getting super strength, or whatever. Depending on how it's written of course.
I hated her in the pilot, but have come to like her since then. Both her and Ward. So right now, I'm 100% happy with this show.

I'm still sticking with my Sky=Jessica Drew theory, this episode did nothing to change my mind on that.

How come nobody's mentioned May got her butt handed to her tonight? That guy could fight, he held his own against The Cavalry.

I highly doubt they would make Skye a major player in the mcu. Plus Chloe would be expected to carry her own film at some point, that isnt happening imo. It does make sense tho from a story standpoint.

It depends on how important the studio considers Carol Danvers. Yeah, I agree with you that Ms./Captain Marvel deserves her own film, and deserves her rightful place as a major Avenger; but there has *never* been even the slightest hint of movement on such a project, no matter how badly we fans want it.

So that says to me that either Marvel Studios just don't consider her an important enough character until at least late in Phase III.....or that they've been playing their cards close to their vest all along.

The Coulson as Mar-Vell theory dates back to 2008, and still remains a popular one. I've never been a big supporter of that angle, but I saw a lot of clear alien clues dropping in Ep. 11, so now I'm not so sure that he *isn't* Mar-Vell. If that turns out to be the case, it then wouldn't be much of a leap to say that they were grooming Skye to be his Ms. Marvel all along.

Skye's backstory has so little in common with Carol Danvers that I sincerely doubt it's her.

Danvers doesn't even fit the "Skye is an alien" theory, because Danvers isn't an alien.

Not a bad episode.I liked seeing Coulson & May on their little side mission.

Bucky name drop.:awesome: I also liked Patton's words from CA TFA on the memorial.

Chloe really knocks it out of the park in those emotional scenes.I'm really liking the way Coulson has gotten to be a father figure to her.

Quinn is back. That's cool.I liked the character. So,some have speculated we've seen the beginning of Blizzard.Any comic related stuff to back that up?I just remember him being a low level thug (not unlike Sandman) in the old comics.

Good stuff. Can't wait to see Stan in all his glory.:woot:

Blizzard (Donnie Gill) is a member of Iron Man's rogue gallery, with some occasional tie-ins to Spider-man.

Which leads me to my speculation...

We currently have Graviton in lockup. He is an Avengers foe. Blizzard belongs to Iron Man.

We have 2 villians to start a breakout scenario. All we need are a couple more.

Why is this important?

Who remembers the ending of The Dark World? Loki now sits on the throne of Asgard. In Avengers EMH, Loki used the Breakout to keep the Avengers focused on Earth, while he conquered the rest of the 9 Realms with his Jotun army.

This could go one of two ways...

1. We get a breakout as a "big event" or "season finale" on AoS with some really big guest appearances by the Avengers, with a tie in to the Loki angle.

2. We get a breakout as a part of Avengers: Age of Ultron, orchestrated by Ultron to weaken The Avengers, and get a cameo tie in with AoS.

Just speculation...

It's pissing me off that I can't watch this right now. Poll results indicate quality. Am I going to be happy? Is there a minimum of stupidness? Does Skye get a good showing? Argh!

No one tell him! Let him suffer!!

...it was pretty good though.

I personally feel it is a quality episode, and being a fan of Iron Man, I'm glad to see a member of his rogues gallery come to life in a way that makes sense, is fitting to the character and doesn't involve a twist so dumb they actually point it out in the dialogue...

What if Skye just ends up being the key to something, and not actually ever gets any powers? I think that would probably fit better with what the showrunners originally said they had planned for the core team.

With her 'origin' now revealed (she's an 'Object of Unknown Origin' ,referring to alien artifacts when the term '084' was first introduced)) I think its possible she's an Inhuman, but without the terrigen mists (or some new catalyst the show might come up with) she does not directly manifest powers.

This would fit in somewhat with this reveal: The Inhumans city of Attilan was first found by the FF in the Himalayas (in Tibet if memory serves). Maybe her parents are or were descendent from them?

Edit: Just to add, the books have recently revealed the Inhumans had spread beyond Attilan down the ages as well, intergrating into human tribes and so on, and descendents from them carrying the Kree engineered gene are now manifesting powers after Maximus & Black Bolt blew up Attilan and released the mists globally.

I'd be up for two more villains for the "breakout" idea. How about Grey Gargoyle as a Thor villain, Justin Hammer as a second Iron Man baddie, Taskmaster as a Captain America foe and Mercy as a Hulk villain joining forces with Graviton and Blizzard.

These guys may even get their own spin-off together. Agents of A.I.M.

That or they can do the inevitable team-up with Red Hulk, Loki and Abomination for a Thunderbolts film.

Also, Skye and Coulson are probably Inhumans but neither of them is Captain Marvel. Most likely this ties into Inhumanity and we'll see Coulson get powers in upcoming issues.

Just saw the last episode. Easily the best episode by far. If the rest of the season will be equally as good or better, we are in for a great second half.

Skye might turn out just like Willow, a character from another one of Whedon's shows. Gifted with computers and later on develops "powers". Willow eventually turned into a powerful witch.

She is either a comic book character or a race from the Marvel universe (Inhuman, Asgardian, Kree, whatever).

The episode was pretty tight, they did good with Blizzard, guess he is a mutate?
Obviously we could never expect something as outlandish as his comic costume, but I do hope he gets some sort of costume...

So is Stan for sure going to be in the next episode? I missed tonight's episode and the preview so I'm just barely catching up.

This is getting very good...Skye being the 084 I'm thinking Spider Woman Julia Carpenter not Jessica Drew
I think the way Feb.4th previews are going....someone will have a power set reviled
