I gotta admit, I was sad to see Garrett go, as much as he deserved all of his deaths…
BELL: Mr. Bill Paxton came in and he was such a good friend to the show. He knew from the beginning that he was going to be The Clairvoyant and arise to be the Big Bad, but he just played it with such relish. And he and Clark [Gregg] hit it off so well that was really fun to watch that relationship grow, and then the onscreen betrayal…and then after Garrett gets shot up with GH-325, the wild spin that sends him on. Bill just leaned into that as much as possible

that should close the Clairvoyant debate I think

Fury basically saying "so you followed Hydra because you misunderstood my damn speech?" Was hilarious.

Wanda or Pietro? They have strong Inhuman ties in the books and in the Marvel film universe they're not mutants but "miracles". With GotG having Kree and some Thanos ties and season 2 gearing up to reveal Skye's heritage they might be a better fit.

I guess, given that I definitely see Skye's big twist being an Inhuman tie, but I was thinking that if they wanted to show some direct tie-in to the events of "Age of Ultron", like they did with "Winter Soldier", some AI character related to/affected by Ultron would make sense.

Not sure whether Oswalt is an LMD or just the twin brother. I'm leaning towards brother but unlike everyone else I believe I will wait for confirmation before proclaiming my theories as fact. :whatever:

I like how the show has managed some real tension. I wasn't entirely certain FitzSimmons would live last week, and felt the same about Fitz this week. Maybe it's Whedons proclivity for killing folk off. At any rate good acting from Henstridge.

Was rolling my eyes as Garrett's "rebirth" right until he 'sploded. LOL

May went after Ward with a ****ing circular saw! That's how you know they're pissed, gentlemen. Also glad he survived, looking forward to what they do with him next year.

The Destroyer gun was a nice callback to Avengers but it would have been nice if it would have smoked some dudes instead of just knocking them down. As it is it doesn't seem particularly dangerous (unless it has a low setting, maybe Coulson didn't want to fry the soldiers?)

Fury was great but I miss the eyepatch.

Phil Coulson, Director of Shield. Had a notion this might happen.

"The Playground". Silvermoon get to add a new base to the list.

Big tease with the alien scrawl and a bigger one with Skye's parentage. Gonna be a long summer.

NO! You must decide before confirmation, it is the fanboy way.:cmad:

Koenig could certainly be "just" a twin brother, but I thought the fact that Billy repeated Eric's orientation speech, complete with "everybody has to get a lanyard," almost word for word was a strong indication that this was an LMD program rebooting.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards twin brother as well - and like you, acknowledge it's just a theory/may or may not end up being fact

And yep, new base added to "the list" :woot:

I cried hard during the FitzSimmons stuff. I'm really, really concerned about my Fitzy-poo as well. Poor dear has been a complete wreck ever since all the HYDRAWard stuff came out.

I'm actually finally loving Skye right now. So glad they're taking Ward down a longer evil path rather than insta-redemption. And the May/Ward stuff was cathartic LOL!

Pretty much loved everything about this episode too. Patton Oswalt returns! Fury! Director Coulson! I need Raina to return. I'd love for them to retroactively make her a canonical Marvel villainess somehow, was thinking Madam Hydra, but that wouldn't work b/c she doesn't care about HYDRA. I hope they keep Ruth Negga for the next season and add Richards to the (frequently recurring) cast. I like the twist that Deathlok will be atoning; was afraid that they would give that arc to Ward. Can I just say that this cast is getting MORE diverse instead of less? Between Raina, the addition of Tripp, Skye, May, Fury popping in and out, and leaving the door open for more Mike Peterson, Marvel's doing quite a bit right with representation on this show.

Is it too much to hope that Garrett could return somehow as the MCU's version of Korvac? Because I seriously thought that's where they were going.

Also, that final scene with Raina/dripping mysterious possible alien dude? Creepy. As was Coulson's final scene.

Wicked, wicked finale.

I enjoyed the episode but I am not sure how I feel about coulson becoming director coulson.

Ohh... and I forgot, we now have another facility name "The Playground" (if I remember correctly). So updated facility list below... and yes, a lot of these are 'defunct' now since the fall of SHIELD

  • Unnamed Zurich Medical Facility
    Location: Zurich
    Episodes Shown In: 1x14 "T.A.H.I.T.I."
That's the S.HI.E.L.D. Trauma Zentrum.
EDIT: I hope they don't actually use LMDs because they're too much of a Deus ex Machina.

I had forgotten that Garrett was a character from the books, I don't know why I thought he was made up for the show. ****, I need to start doing my homework.

Based on some of the speculation that was being thrown around on this board with Ward becoming the Grim Reaper, I was kinda hoping he'd lose a hand at May's expense to set him up as that particular villain. Nonetheless, I'm curious to see where they'll go with his character, as well as Fitz too who may have some kind of handicap based on the line by Simmons.

I wouldn't be surprised if Fitz were wheelchair bound or his own tricked out version one.

Perhaps the random alien markings will figure into some sort of algorithm that could empower people or restore them to normal (i.e. getting Fitz back to normal).

Or it could be the formula for a mutagen. Garrett was talking about evolution and he scrawled similar markings. Could the markings be the formula for Terrigen Mist?

I could be wrong, but from what I've seen so far on the show if and when a supervillain named Grim Reaper appears he'll be Eric Williams as in the comics and not a surrogate guy like Grant Ward.

They seem keen on keeping the civilian identities of superheroes/villains that we know from the comics: Franklin Hall as Gravitron, Donnie Gill as Blizzard and Marcus Daniels as Blackout. The exception so far is Deathlok, but then again there's been more than one in the comics (Luther Manning and Michael Collins), so it's hardly a moniker exclusive to one character.

He even mentioned something about rising from the mist in his evolution speech.
