Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents of SHIELD - 3x03 - "A Wanted (Inhu)man" - Discussion Thread

It was just the Coulson/Tremors convo afterwards, then Xbox, then Hunter, then endcard. Then the Simmons scene with Morse.

Can't help but wonder if Lincoln is going to follow Hellfire's storyline from the comics...or something similar to it.

Simmons pulling a 'LOST', "We have to go back!" Lol

Maybe Simmons finds a way to recreate the rock & she will end up going back to that planet or moon again by the end of the season or it will be a story arc that will probably go nowhere in the end.

The "I will go with you, but not because I like this SHIELD stuff, I'll come for you, Daisy" attitude made me think that as well.

I gotta say, not liking this season so far. I know everyone is rooting for it but I find the romance so forced

A good episode.
I like the Hydra's fight club.
And Lincoln on the run.
Coulson's behaviour is interesting.

The season is more than one element. The romance (assuming you're talking Daisy and Lincoln, not FitzSimmons) is one small element I'm not opposed to but don't really care too much about. It's the rest that matters more.

Think this episode just kinda reinforced the notion that Simmons is probably an Inhuman, trying to play it off as 'adjustment to being back'.
While I still think she probably isn't (based on the behavior of Mack when under the control of the Kree temple, but that also isn't decisive in her case because she hit him first and was being hostile), this episode raises the probability that she is.

Maybe when they showed cell phones, etc., from her perspective, it was only to give us a sense that she was not adjusting (i.e., she didn't actually see things that way), but maybe she has some sort of inhuman heightened senses. Also, she didn't want to talk about it, but she seemed a bit willing to open up to Daisy more than to anyone else - then Lincoln called Daisy, cutting the bonding moment short.

So the first two episodes were Iain de Caestecker's time to shine acting-wise, and this was Elizabeth Henstridge's, I'm ok with this.

may kicking ass was the highlight for me..PERIOD

Lots of good stuff in this episode. Simmons has many great scenes illustrating her trauma from being trapped on another world, Lincoln and Daisy get some strong character moments, and May kicks major ass. It's all good.

Elizabeth Henstridge deserves special applause for her great acting.

when simmons saw the rocks there was a bit of noise. Was that to suggest stress or the same thing skye experienced last week?

Bit of a thing forming between hydra and irish bars.

Probably not what Daisy experienced, since that only happened when the monolith was resonating at a specific frequency and the portal was open.
Also, Simmons didn't react to the rocks, but to Bobbi's cell phone. She also seemed to react in a bad way to Daisy's cell phone, and to some lab equipment. The sounds of the fluorescent tubes in her room and even the shower bothered her.

Is anybody else kinda pissed off with the Lincoln character? He's characterized as the kindest, coolest, most understanding, handsome, super-powered doctor ever. Yet all he ever seemed to do was stand around with hands out waiting for the lightning effects to be drawn in. And then they over correct with "Nope! I'm really an alcoholic with multiple failed suicides to my name." I'm not feeling the ship with Daisy either.

Coulson and Roaslind on the other hand...

yeah the AA sponsor seemed a bit much. Someone on here because of one of roaslinds alias suggested a possible link with lincon. looking through that prism was wondering that during her and coulsons talk. Some things to suggest it but a bit of a leap though, sending soldiers out prepared to use lethal force.

they are usually very neat in their writing, might even out. Is this the longest coulson has gone with out wearing a suit?

didn't cop bobbi's cell phone. So stress. thanks.

BTW, say what you will about Lincoln as a character, I thought they used his powers pretty awesomely this week.

in the first two episodes found mac and skye a bit forced. And bobbi a bit when she psychoanalyzed, but that was interacted with well when skye responded 'no, he didn't mention you at all'. Fitz had some great scenes this season but with the isis lads that was a bit out of character for me, can put it down to drive or growth but it is a bit of a deviation. His strength in previous seasons is that he has the hart of a lion but he is disarming because he is clumsy, nerdish and inoffensive.

Not a gun nut so couldn't argue capabilities but skye stopped bullets from a hand gun at close range before, would bullets from a sniper rifle at a distance travel faster?

I remember there was something in the last couple episodes of the last season which suggested his past was darker than we had been led to believe... Maybe it was something Jiaying said... I can recall exactly what it was, though...

Am I the only one who thinks Daisy and Lincoln lack chemistry?

I agree. You could see it coming and I groaned when they kissed. Seemed like the writers forcing it on us.

In other places people are already saying the Simmons who returned is secretly a Skrull who's adjusting to earth. Always fun to see the wild speculation of fans :woot:.

That's ridiculous! Every time you think you've read the craziest theory out there, you come across something like this. :loco: Everybody knows that Skrulls belong with the FF rights at Fox. This "Simmons" is obviously a Dire Wraith!
