No even lex gave you answers and you still acted like a troll. This is a sequel to man of steel not justice league part 1. This is a setup movie point blank
He's not being a troll in any way.

I loved this movie but I know it's a colossal financial and critical speed bump in their plans at creating a "shared" universe.

This is now riding on a car with one tire. Suicide Squad and WW is said tire.

You’re confusing trolling with you getting mad that people aren’t saying what you want to hear.

Nah im not really, i could care less if people agree with me or not, behaving like a child and playing dumb all day when people on here have given answers to his questions is trolling no matter how you slice it. I have seen people who liked this film getting attacked repeatedly and the mods doing nothing. Im calmn and willing to talk but there is a line at some point.

The guy this morning was saying bruce and alfred may be a gay couple for crying out loud. Really?

Exactly this. Build your brand slowly with steadfast, crowd pleasing and fiscally conversation films. Build an audience. Make me happy. Then sell them on bigger, crazier, weirder things. It's not hard, it just takes time. BvS coming out when it did is the equivalent of Batman Beyond coming out before BTAS. You can love or hate BvS but either side should understand DC is going about this bass ackwards.

Ironically a good BvS movie COULD initiate world-building..but it'd need a pitch-perfect director and a writer who was in his element.

Goyer's not the best, and this is Terrio's first superhero movie..and it shows.

I am treating this era of DC films like the 90's grim dark period of comics. Soon WB will grow up just like the comics did and go back to telling mature, imaginative stories that is only dark when it needs to be.

If not Bruce Timm, why not Paul Dini? Or James Tucker, even though recent DC animation hasn't quite reached DCAU level?

WB doesn't respect them. I used to cover the "premieres" of the animated movies at the Paley Center and it was clear WB didn't give a damn about that side of the house. Kevin Conroy had to pay for his own cab to one of em. No respect. It's why hearing Snyder use the phrase "comic book dorks" really struck a nerve. I've heard that phrase before from WB suits.

Indeed. Of course this thing is collapsing. It's built upon a shaky foundation. It's build upon Snyder, who was never that solid of a director. IMO, it has little to do with WB's failure to follow the Marvel formula properly and much to do with the whole thing being built upon a mediocre director.
Yup. It'll be a sad day next year when we get our JL movie and its met with the same critical and financial disappointment as BvS. The DCEU might end right there.

Hear that? It’s the sound of no one here agreeing with you.

It definitely is a financial disaster but there is a sizable portion that loved it. Its a divise film for sure.

And MOS wasn't created as a shared universe movie. They decided that AFTER it was made and Nolan washed his hands. This whole thing is a house of cards built with a wet deck.

I must admit, I will be utterly perplexed if they really do proceed as planned with Snyder at the helm. They will be literally throwing money away at that point. What kind of business does that? :loco:

You know what people don't realize about "lighting in a bottle"? It takes a real dedicated guy to stand in a thunderstorm holding a fracking kite to get it. DC needs that guy. Right now they just have a bunch of folks trying to catch fireflies in ziplock bags.
:up::up::up:
This gets all the thumbs up in the world.

I think JL might be WORSE than BVS. Too many characters for Zack to have to get right.

Justice League Part One
20 percent at RottenTomatoes
650 million WorldWide

=DCU Laughingstock

How ****ing tragic is that? Fans deserve better. The artists and writers of these characters deserve better.

I swung by my fav comic shop this afternoon and some dad was there looking for some new Groot comic for his daughter. GROOT. Are you kidding me? What the hell is DC doing.

Nothing so far has disproved it, although the complete silence from WB on this issue has me hoping for some announcement on Monday when production is intended to begin.

Wow. What's the full context for this?

This Snyder dude says the dumbest of things.

Someone at work brought her 6-year-old in with her today, since he was off from school. He had a ton of superhero toys to keep him busy, and told us he was Superman.

Now, if only there was a Superman movie playing that he could see.

I don't think there's anything complex about the state of DC right now.

They simply picked the wrong guy (dearest Zack) to start their universe.

They don't need a Feige. They don't need to be like Disney. They have a decent slate and some decent talent for their other films. They simply needed a better director than Snyder to kick things off.

If the directors of each of these properties were 1) solid directors to begin with and 2)knowledgeable on the specific property they're assigned to direct, all would be well.

But the most important properties of all...the first ones...the ones that set the tone and serve to hook the audience into the entire chain of properties...were handed to a sub-par director.

I think the problem is you kinda do need someone in charge of the entire project steering the ship. Snyder is wrong for several reasons, but a big reason he shouldn't be at the helm is the shear workload of being the director and the de facto leader of everything else. WB have basically given him not just too much power, they've overloaded him with work. Even if Snyder was a better film maker it's easy to argue one person taking on multiple rolls in the project is probably not the best thing for the franchise. Marvel I think have shown how you do it, Pixar and Lucasfilm are essentially doing the same, in Pixar's case they've been working independently from Disney since day one.

This 10000x.

****ing Hollywood execs.

This Snyder dude says the dumbest of things.

"I took that little vignette from a scene in The Dark Knight Returns, and at the end of that, he shoots the guy right between the eyes with the machine gun. One shot. Of course, I went to the gas tank, and all of the guys I work with were like, ‘You’ve gotta shoot him in the head’ because they’re all comic book dorks, and I was like, ‘I’m not gonna be the guy that does that!’"

Ive been writing about and covering movies for a short while now. Never heard anyone use a phrase like that who wasnt an out of touch suit. Not even Whedon, the dorkiest of dorks, calls his peers that to the press.

The Kevin Feige model is working out with the other Disney mega franchise too. Kethleen Kennedy is the Feige of Star Wars. She is overseeing all the major and minor films under the Star Wars banner.
