The day and age has come, where early positive reaction tweets are actually taken as a bad sign lol. I suppose this is due to the few films where 'that' has happened, not only the superbad ones but the avenger ones that were overblown even this past year. Of course ignoring all the good films where the tweets were indicative of something. Most recently Deadpool.

Well I understand the concerns. Man of Steel had early positive reactions and then many negative reviews started to pour in the week it premiered. I am not saying that the situation would apply to Batman v Superman, but I understand some people's worries.

Getting worried by positive reactions pretty neatly falls under the definition of stupidity as far as I'm concerned.

No one needs to be worried about positive early reaction. The idea is to not take it as gospel. I still remember when TDKR was going to win the Oscar for Best Picture.

I think its more that universally positive tweets don't mean universal positive reviews from critics/fans.

So who here is going to the IMAX fan screening tonight?

I am. Plainville, CT. Going to get to the theater about 11am or so, to see what's up and If I need to wait in line for 10-11 hours to get my perfect seats. Hopefully they hand out numbers!

Awesome man, hope you enjoy it!

Certainly.
I'd imagine universally negative tweets would amount to the same thing. In that regard I'd question what the critical consensus would actually mean other than that an individual liked it or didn't.

It's subjective.
The question is that of if it's a 'good' sign a 'bad' sign..a 'nothing' sign.
If every girl in the world universally tweeted love of some movie(not a chick flick). That doesn't really mean fans and critics will do the same. But that it means anything but good seems inverted to me personally.

I don't think the early reactions mean much either way.
I'd just rather not spend time being a negative nancy.

I almost never follow early reactions, so I guess I'm more surprised and fascinated by how they are treated. Probably like people say, due to history.

Guys, the positive reactions have been great. I know people compare this to MOS, but here's the thing: yes, there are audience reactions and critic reactions, but the critics don't speak for us, and we always prove that with our actions, not words. So if critics bash this movie, a movie you love, then go out there and support it.

Be the Hero!

There's a difference between positive reactions and positive early reactions from premieres and special/free screenings. Of course 99% of people aren't going to crap on a movie they just waited in line 6 hours to see or got to see for free along with the cast. That's the important thing people should remember.
