Oh yeah. I was thinking of a movie actually based on a comic book.

The mad max one baffled me to be honest. Visually stunning, standard on the story and Max was a supporting character in his own film with little dialogue

Anyway, I don't see these types of films, the Batman's, Supermans, Spidermans and Captain America's ever being Oscar quality

And Batman already did it. :yay:

I went to Hot Topic at the Westfield Mall in Trumbull, CT today to get the BvS Batman symbol shirt and a shirt with Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman on it. The cashier asked if I was looking forward to the film and I was honest about looking forward to it but also about not being a big fan of Zack Snyder. We talked about it, about giving it a fair shake (I'm already seeing it in real Imax in New York City on the 24th). She (the cashier) seemed to be extremely really excited for it.

Only posting this because I thought y'all would like to read some more positive stuff from the offline world...

I'm sure this has been said already, but Max being the supporting character in his own movie has been done since the first one.

Just looked it up. Superman The Movie and Batman 89 were both nominated for a variety of Oscars, and 89 won for Art Direction, while STM got a special achievement Oscar. See people, it is a thing. :cwink:

Nice, I live in Danbury CT, and go to the Danbury Fair Mall. Got a few shirts at my hot topic already haha. Most everyone I know around here is generally excited.

Going to see it in the real max on the 25th in NYC too haha. Only because I have the fan screening tomorrow, or else I'd have been after that 24th spot.

Christopher Reeve won a BAFTA for playing Superman. Or do only the Oscars count? :yay:

It all counts Jake Cassidy. :highfive:

i wonder if it would blow Tobias mind if Henry Cavill was nominated for anything major for BvS or a future Superman flick.

We're not going to go through all that rotten tomatoes nonsense again, are we? :csad:

Depends on the reviews. :funny:

That is the thing about awards and critics. They are horrible and don't matter, until they are on your side. Then:

We're not out of woods yet guys, RT is the final frontier, we pass that test and were all dandy from here on out.

I don't care about score I just wanna hear from people I relate to when it comes to film choices. People like Schmoes and Collider, if they're good I'm usually good.

The day and age has come, where early positive reaction tweets are actually taken as a bad sign lol. I suppose this is due to the few films where 'that' has happened, not only the superbad ones but the avenger ones that were overblown even this past year. Of course ignoring all the good films where the tweets were indicative of something. Most recently Deadpool.

Given what the tweets seem to coincide with alot of the positive early word, I'd imagine this could possibly be a case of the latter and not the former. Time will tell however.

Both sides are keeping hope alive it seems.

If we love the movie, and the critics don't, we better stand up and be heard (in the most non-trollish way possible) early. Control the narrative, unlike with MoS.
