And that doesn't sound ridiculous to you as a character and as a motivation? The Wayne tragedy... a guy saying "F**k this".

He's not basing it on nothing, it's based on lots of previous information from these cases. The victim getting aggressive is unusual behavior. Not because it's stupid to get aggressive (it is, but logical thinking isn't what decides everything in a stressed situation) but because attacking a man with a deadly weapon seems like a very unsafe and dangerous thing to do.

If it was common for people to get aggressive then we wouldn't have much mugging in the form we have now. We'd see a much larger shift to more downright attacks where people get robbed after they are physically dealt with.

Both good points but it didn't bother me that much. I could easily see this still being that same Wayne. Maybe it was a long conversation where the guy with the gun was like screw it I'm gonna kill you anyway. We only saw him go for the guy. For the flaws this film has I can give this some slack.

No problem. May the Force be with you.

This is why I love forums.

Now I am on my computer, I feel obligated to post it because I could not provide it earlier (panels from The Dark Knight Returns).

I just hope it wouldn't be a new material for another fire. :csad:
Please see it as what it is. Those argument already covered in multiple pages.

I think Snyder... who does not articulate well in interviews, was referring to long conversations like in Superhero Cafe, where if they just stand around in costume chatting it up, it looks kind of ridiculous in live action. Even Chris Reeve looks "out of place" standing around chatting. Unless he is doing something heroic, Superman looks like a guy in a funny looking costume...which is why he don't hang around after the save to talk to people, he zooms off all cool like.

The genius of the first Superman movie was that Donner/Reeve pulled the exact thing you're saying off. The movie did well because they bought the whole thing, not just the action scenes. That includes the "out of place", costumed Reeve.

Batman too. Batman, going in to a 7-11 to get a cup of coffee in a ANY of the suits we have seen would look laughable. It only "works" at night-in the dark and in small doses.

Fair enough.

Yep. Which solidifies my opinion that Snyder cares more about adapting visuals and iconography than adapting story. Same goes with TDKR quotes he uses. Make no sense in context of the movie.

Lol, no worries, I've already called the comics stupid for doing that.

It only "worked" because STM was a campy rendition. Fun, but campy.

It wasn't campy. It was lighthearted. In a movie decade where grittiness was basically born, had they called StM campy, it would've tanked. Unless you consider the first Star Wars campy, too, in which case we agree to disagree.

Well you can think that.......the shawshank redemption is a masterpiece this film isn't

Maybe I should clarify. Masterpiece of a CBM That being said my opinions are usually vastly different than the majority. Just as an example I give both Iron Man and The Avengers 1/10

Snyder didn't do anything wrong. This is how Kane and Finger wrote him.

Look at the Raimi Spider-Man films, the Nolan Batman films, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Deadpool.

The heroes would talk in costume while being serious.

Does Snyder literally not know what's been going on the past decade of comic book movies?

Tell Snyder to watch Daredevil S2 and see how they did it between DD and the Punisher.

Also in those dark hues you can't really make out anyway. We should've had a scene with both of them bloodied, and talking about their ideologies after the fight and understanding the need for each other. We could've understood why Batman kills (Robin stuff) and how Superman regrets some of his actions and how he's trying to do good.

Here's a thought I had to help humanize and add a little levity to the scene:

WW just saved Bats from Doomsday's blast...Superman slams Doomsday into the gas tanks and lands in front of Batman.

In the film S says "did you find the spear"

Add in:

S: My Mother?
B: Safe...
S: thank you. Did you find the Spear?
B: I've been a little busy...
WW: What spear?
B: It's Kryptonian, it should kill the creature.
WW: Are you sure it will work.?
S: He almost killed me with it.
WW: You tried to kill him?
B: It's a long story....
B to S:you're never gonna let that go are you.?

Guyyyyys, if we don't want the mods here let's keep it civil about people's tastes.
